I will continue to patronize Monette's, as I know this store serves everyone and treats everyone with respect and care. Whatever the owner said on FB, he's apologized for, so let's review the store, not comment on what the owner said. He who is without fault, cast the first stone.

Their produce is usually pretty good and they have quality lunch meats. Shout out to Dietz meats. I don't get a chance to go to this location very often but they do host some events in the greenhouse in the back that I've been to and they are always well attended and the staff are great. Just recently they had a sip and stroll event with wine tasting beer tasting and food for 25 bucks. That is a steal. You can't go to any all you can drink eat event for 25 bucks nowadays and quality wine and craft beer. Certain items are worth the splurge- e.g., the homemade potato salad in the deli section... Soooo good!! They also carry a number of homemade soups. They also carry things my mom loves (e.g., turkey wings). For everyday items, you'll do better price-wise shopping at your local Kroger or other such stores. Again, this doesn't replace the pleasure of walking into a hometown shopping store. I also love that they hire people with disabilities - love love to experience this! Still, based on the pricing, I need to rate this store at 4 stars, as much as I love and recommend them for excellent quality and for carrying certain items that are difficult to find elsewhere (my mom loves Kasia's sauerkraut dumplings)! Check them out because it's a feel-good small grocery store, locally owned!!

While I don't want to break the bank at uber expensive grocery stores, I turn my nose a bit at the everyday grocery stores in my area. I never know if the produce is fresh, old, or tainted (sprayed chemicals). I find the pricing to be hit or miss, but I can pretty much get all of what I need for a weeks worth of cooking here without having to go anywhere else. I wouldn't come here for everyday things such as TP or dish detergent, but for veggies and organic goods this is it.
