One of my favorite grocery stores in town. They have some pretty good weekly deals. Their produce is usually pretty fresh but my favorite is their European snacks and chocolates. They usually only have one cashier open but the lines moves quickly

When Fresh & Easy was closed down in 2015-16, we were wondering what other similar cheap & reliable grocery stores would come to SoCal? The answer is Aldi, a German 1 of many chain stores. We are glad it did. Here, 1 may buy groceries of most essential items, vegetables, meats, cereals, dairy, and frozen items. Historically, this was our go-to for eggs and meat. However, after 2020 pandemic, the eggs are no longer cheap but very comparable to other grocery stores. Vegetables are the cheaper items besides breads & bagels available in this store we will always buy. Lines may be long when you check out since most the time, only one checkout line is available. Also not convenient thing is the fact that the buyer must bring a quarter in order to use its shopping cart, making it impossible for frail & handicapped shoppers to check-in & check-out the shopping carts easily. If you forget to bring a quarter, it will be tough luck since it will be hard to exchange a dollar bill for quarters at the register cash since it is always busy! I also notice, shoppers are mostly on their own since not many Aldi personnel are seen available at one time during my visit there. The store is well lit, well maintained, and clean. The cash register personnel is friendly and welcoming. I do highly recommend to shop here if you are bargain & budget shoppers like myself, with the caveat of always bringing a quarter with you if you want to use their shopping cart.

Ahhhhh I just love when stores are... BRAND SPANKING NEW!!! Everything is clean, organized and ready to be shopped! As I was driving by earlier this week, I saw that a brand new Aldi was in town and I decided to check them out today. They opened this Monday (12/14/2020) and are located at the Jann's Marketplace off Moorpark and Hillcrest. I have only been to Aldi once before at their Simi Valley location and decided to see what this one was all about. It's basically a smaller grocery store with a mix of brand name product that we all know (Coca Cola, Sriracha, Gatorade, etc.) alongside off-brands of product that look similar to the names we know, but at more reasonable price point. This store encompasses everything you probably need to survive in the kitchen, from fresh produce that looks better than some of the major grocery retailers to fresh dairy, beef, poultry and pork. The aisles have all of the staples, from bread and baking supplies, to pantry spices and canned foods, they have it all. The frozen department is full of goodies, they even have an area in the store for meals ready-to-go. Looking for some different styles of wine or beer, well Aldi has you covered. I really enjoyed walking down the aisles that have product labeled, "Here Today* Gone Tomorrow". Lots of great last minute gift ideas especially as we are heading into the last few days before Christmas. I will definitely be back and I'm so happy a new store is in town to support our beautiful community. Welcome to the neighborhood Aldi 1000 Oaks!!!!

Love Aldi's in Thousand Oaks! Clean and neat with quality product plus smoking deals!

Love the Thousand Oaks Aldi's. If you are price conscience and still want great quality product, then this place is for you. It's clean, well organized and like their well packaged and fresh broccoli, assortment of potatoes, onions, avacado's and other vegetables. Great assortment of fresh bread too. I'm still smiling about my $0.45 per pound 16.8 lb Butterball turkey premium that I bought yesterday!

Such a low selection versus other Aldi locations. Service is ok. Ambiance is definitely darker lit compared to others too.

The store is great, but every single time I have been here, the lines are longs and only one register is open.

Lovely consistent outdoor weekly market. (Enough adjectives for you!?)…read moreIt can be found on the far southeast side of the mall and always has a rich selection of vendors with so many items. This is well worth a stop on a Thursday midday. Their website or Facebook page should give the hours.

Dear Hubby and I were running errands in Thousand Oaks yesterday. While having a late lunch it hit…read moreme that it was Thursday, and that meant the the Farmers Market was open. I suggested that we stop by, especially since I was hoping to start repopulating our air plants. Free parking very close - check. Full slate of vendors - mostly check. Air plant / succulent vendor? - Not this time. While that was a let down, there were other options to choose from, so we walked the the rows of stalls. Apparently dragon fruit is popular now. I haven't tried it, but this would be the place to do so. Also popular right now are many varieties of apples (three of my favorites were on hand from a grower in Tehachapi - Cameo, Mutsu, and Pink Lady), along with persimmons and pomegranates. If one is planning to create holiday decorations using national elements, this would be a good place to pick up fruits in red and orange bright colors. I enjoyed sampling several other types of apples with which I wasn't familiar. Prices are higher than I was expecting, and we're short on refrigerator space right now, so I kept purchases to a minimum this time. There was a line at the tamale vendor, so we didn't pick any up on this visit. The bread vendor had sky high prices, so I passed. For better deals, I've been able to go closer to closing time and received better pricing as the vendors don't want to have to pack up what they brought - they'd rather sell it at a reduced rate. Honey and jams were available, but the egg man was packing up; all sold out by 3 p.m. Many of the vendors are local, and some come even from the San Joaquin Valley, i.e., Fresno-area.
