You probably know the story behind Aldi and its brethren store, Trader Joe's? If you don't, you should. The only reason Aldi gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because they are out of products at times and they have something a couple of times and then it's gone forever. Also, there is basically zero customer service. They run on a bare bones staff even on the weekends. Sometimes you catch someone putting out stock and then you might exchange pleasantries with the cashier. If you want friendly customer service, this isn't necessarily the place. I'm a huge Trader Joe's fan but I also shop Aldi even though it's less because they won't put one in my neighborhood. If you've shopped both, you know one difference is cost. While not the posh experience of shopping at Trader Joe's, Aldi is more cost friendly. I go to Aldi for certain products and just to see what they might have because at times you find a product and then never see it again. Some products you can usually find are basics. Heavy cream is about half the price of any other grocer. Cheese, coffee, and sometimes fruits and veggies and even meat is very competitive on cost. And everything is good. I am also able to get some keto selections here. Bread, bars, ice cream, and my new find on this trip, keto hamburger buns! I wish they would add more. This location had a good supply of items but as with all Aldi's, you don't know what they may have or not that day. If you have never shopped at Aldi, 2 important tips: 1. Bring your own bags (unless you want to buy their bags, about 10 cents each) or you will have to find a box from their stock. They put them out in bins in the store for you to dig through. Sometimes pickings are slim. 2. Bring a quarter. You will need this to unlock a buggy if you need one (you probably will). When you return the buggy properly, you get your quarter back. They renovated last yr. In 2020 so it's a lot nicer on the inside! The variety of products is still limited-you get a couple options of Ranch but not an array like you'd get from Publix or other grocery stores. I bought Publix store brand Ranch and it was still 0.50 more compared to generic Ranch from Aldi. This place is very budget friendly. Fruit and veggies are my Go To - you need to inspect carefully because sometimes they are spoiled already due to being in non refrigerated section. Aisles are wider now & you need a quarter to deposit for your shopping cart - pretty cool. Return the cart to get your money back. Reusable bags encouraged since they don't bag your stuff or buy paper bags there. An alternative is that you can find empty boxes to store your stuff which is what I do! read more

I've been to this location several times before but was not happy about the experience- yesterday, I enjoyed myself and I wanted to share the changes with you! So, I wandered in around 4:30pm on a Saturday afternoon and the store was pretty empty- score! I really had only walked in to get one thing but because I saw the empty store and stocked shelves, I stuck around and got a basket. Favorite place to get cheap food. My neighborhood Aldi is actually next to the Costco on Linebaugh, but we were driving home from the Bucs game. I was considering making the detour to go up Sheldon and then saw this Aldi out of the corner of my eyed. We made a split second decision to pull into the parking lot and try this one. I always say Aldi is where I go when I want to see where the mood takes me with groceries. For instance, my sister pointed out they don't have zucchini, but they had microwavable popcorn! When we were checking out the lady behind us saw the popcorn and asked us to point her in the right direction and then left the line. This is definitely the place where you walk up and down the aisles to decide what to get. The reason we stopped was we were looking for wrapping paper. Luckily I saw an ALDI TV commercial where the person grabbed wrapping paper. It was $1.99 and they had a nice variety. My sister got a Peanuts themed one and I went with Marvel. Our Costco no longer carries edmame noodles so I was surprised and excited to see it here. I grabbed a box to try. The one thing I didn't like about this ALDI was it was freezing! Maybe it's because we went in December, even though it was in the 70s outside, but I was hopping around to try to stay warm. I used to live a block away from this location and have seen many changes transpire since this store opened. I still stop in whenever I'm in the area to take advantage of their wonderful weekly sales and in-store deals. About a year ago, this store underwent a total renovation and aesthetic improvements. This only adds to my pleasant Aldi's shopping experience. Today's visit yielded some pretty good deals: 98 cents for an 8-ounce bag of spinach, 32 cents/lb for bananas, .85 for a dozen large eggs, $1/64 ounces Gold Peak Unsweetened Tea and .65 for a box of Tzatziki Pasta Salad Kit which I'm trying for the first time. I enjoy finding their in-store specials, kind of like a treasure hunt :-). If Aldi's is in your location and you haven't stopped in, give 'em a try. If you like saving money, that is. :-D read more

This was my first and last time going to Aldi. With that said, it's in a plaza with lots of other unknown shops, plenty of parking available. There are no customer service reps working here, only cashiers. There's no deli, no meat department, no seafood; it's definitely worse than Walmart grocery stores. What brought me here was their local advertisements, $7.79/lb for salmon. Amazing deal but I knew there had to be a catch. It's a very dingy, dirty store. The produce were thrown into boxes, very messy. There was no customer service people!?! No one to answer my question. So i googled and found the number associated with this store. It was an automated service call to Aldi US and in order to cut costs for customers. In other words, to get an answer, I had to go on their website. What?!! No thanks! I'm actually very impressed with how far my little Aldi's supermarket has come for the last 8 years since I've lived in Town n Country! Since the remodeling I've noticed how much cleaner and organized the aisles have been so I can go find all sorts of treasures here! I've been a huge fan of Aldi now for a long time and its nice to come to my little neighborhood location and get my usual faves! My personal go tos are: Benton's maple leaf cookies, Aunt Maples pancakes, any of their cheeses, Specially selected 100% maple syrup, and too many others to count. My favorite place in Aldi is definitely their seasonal aisle that has their holiday special products. I'm always on the lookout for any seasonal Choceur chocolate and some decor. If you're a serious foodie on a budget, this is definitely the place to go! So I went to Aldi when it first opened and I hated it. I was like, "Where in the HELL are the name brands? This place is full of generic crap!" True story. I returned at the request of my chica a few months later on a challenge. See, I was a Target shopper. I have the Target debit card that rewards you with a 5% discount off your total bill, which can be quite helpful when buying a few hundred bucks worth of food and supplies. So she said, you get what you need from Target, and let's go to Aldi and we shall see which is cheaper. Challenge accepted. I bought some items that totaled about $80. We then went to Aldi, and she bought double the amount of items, some being the same types of items, and her bill was $75. From that moment, I've been hooked. I think one of the things I like those most is their cheese selection. They always tend to have really good cheeses. What I don't like is their tomatoes. Why in the hell would they have Canadian tomatoes when Ruskin is right down the street? Those Canadian tomatoes are as flavorless as their culture. Yeah, I said it. I could really type up a bunch of words about my good experiences here, but I'll refrain. Take a quarter, a debit card (no credit) and some grocery bags and get your shop on! Downside to this location is that it's sort of ghetto compared to other locations in the area. I find this store to be unorganized and not as well-stocked as others, but it's the closest to home, so I shop here a lot. read more

This is probably the worst Aldi I've ever been to. It's really because of the ghettofied location. At most Aldis you can't expect good customer service, but the bad service at this one takes the cake because the employees lock the doors before closing time so they can get out early. Never been here when they first open, but something tells me they aren't opening a few minutes early either. Overall I do like Aldi. You can't buy everything at Aldi, but the things you would want to buy are solid. In the frozen section I get wild caught seafood. In produce you can find organic Chiquita bananas occasionally as well as other produce items that might be worth buying. Just don't do all your produce shopping here. The dairy section is probably the best thing they have going. Organic milk, Almond milk, organic yogurt and an assortment of good cheeses. I've also tried some of the G Free gluten free brand and they're not bad...as not bad as gluten free can get. They have a health conscious brand called and fit n active. The fit n active cereals are good. I bought frozen berries and eggo style waffles in their organic brand called simply nature. I refuse to buy meat here. However if I ever see an organic brand of meat pop up in the store I'd try it. Again, 2 stars is for this particular location. I give the organization a 4. Mainly because it beats out its comparable competitor, Sav a lot in cleanliness and its private label brands. Remember to bring your own shopping bag cause they don't have your typical plastic bag you get at other supermarket, you'll find empty boxes at times within the store that they also allow you to use, similar to Costco. Also, bring a quarter if you want a shopping card, you get your quarter back when you return your cart, it's another way they help you save money. Try their Colby cheese, it's very good. You'll find some items that you won't find anywhere else within their frozen section that's worth a try. Overall, great place if you are on a budget. This is my regular Aldi, since it's on the way to/from work. I LOVE THAT THERE ARE NO SINGLE USE PLASTIC BAGS!!! I love Aldi. My grocery spending has been cut in half (at least) since I discovered this chain of grocery stores years ago in the midwest. Prices are kept low because like Aldi's sibling, Trader Joe's, most of the brands sold are their house brands. The quality is generally identical to name brands and usually the items are manufactured by the same manufacturer as the name brand. Additionally, there is no shelving, you have to bring your own bags, they only take debit cards or cash, and you need to have a quarter to use a shopping cart. I've always gotten good customer service (at the register) at this location and the manager seems especially nice and helpful. All the cashiers I've encountered have been pleasant and friendly. I had to return something once and it took maybe 30 seconds and was totally painless. I regularly buy lean ground beef for meatballs, turkey and pork tenderloins for the grill, chicken tenderloins and thighs for the crockpot, thin-sliced beef to marinate and use for bulgogi, and thin-sliced boneless pork chops to make schnitzel. This week I got a frozen duck from Maple Leaf Farms (same that Z Grille in St. Pete uses) for $11 and change. I like their frozen mussels too. I've never had the slightest issue with any meat, cheese, frozen food, ravioli, anything. Almond milk is a bargain here, as are organic and gluten-free items. I really look forward to the seasonal items like spaetzle and pumpkin pasta sauce. My 2 complaints carry across every Aldi everywhere: Produce selection tends to be poor and old. The eggs have been kicked around, I always have to pick through multiple cartons to get a dozen that aren't cracked. This Aldi is across the street from a Chili's and a Publix...it is not in a "ghetto" as some other reviewers have stated. There's not even a liquor store in that strip mall, and there's no armed guard. If it was in the ghetto, there would be an armed guard and its neighbors would be Save-A-Lot and vacancies. read more

Great for what it is. This is a huge chain in Germany and allot of the local grocers in the state should take note. They are minimalist . I love the fact they don't bag any groceries and make you put your cart back to get the quarter back. The produce seems to be priced well, they get in German chocolate, sausages and cheeses. This place is a total dive. I will never go back there again. Of course it starts off by having to put a quarter into the cart for it to be released. You get it back after using it but if you don't have one handy you are out of luck. You must then try to get change from a cashier who are always super busy. Anyway, the store was just trashed. Merchandise was all over the floor and it was totally disorganized. The produce appeared to be old and unappetizing. I really don't have anything good to say. No associates were on the floor to answer questions and the lines to check out were crazy. I always hate having to wait a ridiculous amount of time to give someone my money. I absolutely love Aldi's. I remember going when I was a young child with my mom in Connecticut and boy have they changed. They have become more health conscious. They offer a good variety of organic items. Their prices are almost unbeatable. Their own line, Fit and Active, has really amazing products. I especially like the low calorie desserts. The staff is nice enough. Remember to bring your own bags or you have to pay for theirs. They manage to keep costs down in many ways which is great for its employees ( I've heard they pay well). Minimizing the amount of plastic bags in our landfills and oceans is something great and we can all agree on that. I didn't give it 5 stars because I cannot get everything there. read more

I shop at Aldi's because it is a great way to save money. The cost here is at least %50 or more cheaper than its competitors. One of my favorite features about this store is that it not only sell grocery items but it also sells items such exercise equipment and toys and along with many other items. Although many of the items sold here are not name brand I can not tell the difference in taste with brand name items. I don't live near an Aldi so I have to carefully plan out each of my trips and buy items in bulk in order to last to my next trip. More Aldi's needs to be opened in order for more individuals to take advantages of the prices here. What I do is buy all that I can at Aldi's and the rest at publix to in order to keep my grocery bill at its cheapest. I love ALDI. read more

I drove by this place for months not realizing it was a grocery store until my parents came to visit. They have one where they live and wanted to swing by for a few things. At first glance it doesn't look like much and I was not really impressed. Over the next few weeks I decided to swing by when I needed eggs, milk or bread. That's when I really started to realize the savings. Now it is one of my top choices to grab chips comparable to name brands and other snacks. The cheeses they carry are really good quality. I like the sliced singles which taste exactly like Kraft singles. The ground turkey is very reasonable and 93 percent fat free. Milk is about $1.00 cheaper a gallon than some other area markets. Other Aldi's grocery list favorites include the produce (when fresh), can goods, pastas, frozen pizza and ice cream. If you have only been to Aldi's once and did not like it. I would recommend giving them another try. When you do be sure to bring a quarter for a cart rental deposit and some shopping bags. Although if you forget the bags you can purchase them for 6 cents each. read more

Really overlooked this gem. Needed an air matress, saw they had them on sale and set out to call them. 2 hours latter learned, no phones, as I imited staff & don't want to waste their time, owned by a German Company & the same company that owns Trader Vics. Not many name brands, but some quality food items. Had some gourmet cheeses at great prices, low calorie line called fit& lively ( check labels not always so fit), canned pet food with few ingredients, but good ingredients at super low price. Frozen foods offered some great options from appetizers to desserts. Low fat yougat, flavored sugar and fat free coffee creamers, cottage cheese, ricotta. Baffled at prices for quality items & only because they don't have a national brand name on them. Great prices on good selection of fruits and veggies as well as bread products. I checked out the meat & can't say their prices were anything special, but found a few items at a good price. REMEMBER take your own bags or pay a few cents for them & no checks. Cash, credit or debit. Unlike big box stores you only buy the amount you want. I got a jar of German sauerkraut and boy was it delish! First time shoppers go when you have enough time to investigate the store, items of interest & ingredients list, you & your wallet will thank you latter! And don't make the mistake I did & be put off by having to put a quarter in to get a grocery cart. Think about the expense of a cart & how many times you see them all over town, where they shouldn't be. Ultimately we pay through grocery costs for the carts, so in the big scheme of things, put in the quarter, you get it back when you return the cart. Definitely not a "ghetto" neighborhood, but located on multi-lane West Hillsborough which is well lined with chains and commercial activity. Aldi is in the same mall as a Harbor Freight and HSN Clearance store, so you do mingle with bargain hunters and lots of older shoppers. And a few times I have been panhandled by street folk, who customize the hustle of offering to take your cart back to the store to collect a quarter. read more

Aldi's definitely has the best prices in town for groceries! They are all Aldi's own brand but are just as good quality as publix or Walmart! You have to bring your own bags or pay 10 cents each for theirs. Also bring a quarter to get a cart and when you bring it back you get your quarter back. Then gave me a sharp look and said "wait". You dont treat customers like this. What ever happened to courtesy and manner. I wasnt rude. Im not buying in this location again. I usually like aldi because you can get comparable items for much cheaper but the quality of their products is a concern after my purchase today. I bought banana nut granola from this locationand opened the bag to find something red and circular right on top. I thought maybe they accidentally added in a chocolate candy but NO...plastic cap with what appears to have rust on it. How did quality control not catch it? From what I understand, ALDI is a global discount supermarket chain based out of Germany. When first visiting, I discovered that in order to be able to use shopping carts in store, you have to put in a quarter in a slot to "check one out" (you get it back after you return the cart). The store itself was pretty inviting and clean. The prices are pretty competitive so it is great for a college student like me. However, you may not be able to find brands that you are accustomed to (not much of a problem for me personally). The workers were all friendly and I have no complaints with customer service whatsoever. However you have to provide your own bags as they do not offer them. All in all, I feel I can get used to shopping here -- as long as I try not to buy in bulk and have change handy. read more
