Had been planning to visit this place for a while but just got around to doing so. I admit, though, that when I first realized this store was coming to town, I originally thought it was ALDO (shoes), lol! In any case, I was not disappointed. The store looks spotless and is fresh-smelling, items are neatly stacked, and the prices are great! Love the variety of the products - I even found edamame spaghetti! I was a bit put off by having to deposit a quarter in the cart (???); fortunately, I did have a couple of quarters in my purse! :o) Of note, I wasn't sure how to hook the cart back on the rack, so I just handed it off to another customer and told her the quarter deposit had been taken care of, lol! Of note, it seems to be a "bag your own groceries" deal, which is perfectly fine. Though I took my own bag for shopping, there are reusable bags for purchase in the store (for 1.99), as well as durable/reusable plastic bags for 10 cents and paper bags for 8 cents! I just had to laugh at that. I can't recall the last time I saw an item anywhere that costs less than 25 cents!!! In any case, this grocery store gives me a Trader Joe's/GreenWise Market type of vibe, with prices on the lower end...

    Protein anyone?

What a delightful little market. It's rather bare bones and simple, but clean. The fresh items were fresh and very reasonably priced. Quite a few gluten free options scattered around. I found some chocolate covered macaroons, Yum!! What I really liked was the ease of moving about, lots of staff although they didn't offer assistance, nor did I need any. What I didn't know was Aldi does not have bags...this is a BYOB kind of place. So, if you go, and you should, take your own reusable shopping bag. Oh, and grab a buggy/shopping cart outside the front door, requires a quarter, returned to you upon return.

This market has a nice selection of dry goods, produce, and candy. They have bulk-size bags of rice…read moreat decent prices ($5 for a 5lb bag, not bad) and large containers of Jasmine, Green, and other forms of tea, also priced well. If you are looking for Asian produce (bok choy, daikon radish, etc), their prices are very fair and the produce is in great condition. They also have an entire aisle of chile sauce, various forms of sauce, and cooking oil/wine/vinegar. There is also an aisle of noodles (you won't find Maruchan here, but give the other ones a try!) and some dried mushrooms. Make sure that you take a peek into their coolers, too. You'll find all kinds of buns, meats, seafood, and other noodles/starch items. The candy section is also ample, with cookies and hard candies of all types. Unless you plan on spending over $10, make sure that you take some cash - they only do credit card transactions over $10. *Update: if you get the rice, check it for worms. We brought home a lot more than rice that day.

I find that the variety of fresh exotic vegetables is greater here than at Lynns - and also, there are a number of frozen items I haven't found over at Lynns. That said, I frequent Lynn's more (out of it's daily operating hours) and so only come here when seeking out stuff Lynn's doesn't have. One example is this dehydrated soup that I've become dependent on. Havista brand Black Pepper Sour and Hot Soup. (what's more, I enjoy the awkward English translation on the packaging: "Hot water, 3 seconds, soup OK! Delicious as Fresh from Kitchen. No MSG Added"! (as though the faux MSG scare of the 1960's were still in effect among the 2015 congnoscenti!). It may be out of the way for some (about 1/8 mile past Capital Circle on the Parkway) but if you're looking for exotic vegetables, definitely give these guys a try!

I'm a fan! I came to this market one Saturday afternoon because I was in need of some local honey…read morefor my allergies. As we know, local honey is much better and more beneficial than store bought honey. The Frenchtown Farmer's Market is rather small. I would actually say it is smaller than the one out by Thomasville. However, the fresh produce and other goods are great....great quality and great price that is. I saw foods such as watermelons, sweet potato, tomatoes, okra, onions, and beans. There was also some great local honey from Walter, the bee keeper. He had some freshly cut sourdough bread for us to try the honey before purchasing. He had honey both with and without the honeycomb and they were $10 each. He also had some candles that were made out of bee pollen and said those, too were good for allergy sufferers. There was a stand where a lady was selling boiled peanuts; both spicy and non spicy. I saw some t-shirts for sale as well as some artwork. What I appreciated most was that there were people from different ethnic backgrounds and different ages. Everyone was so nice....it's not all the time you walk down the street and are greeted by everyone. There was even a young women set up street side who offered us some free water and free slices of watermelons. Many of the neighbors were sitting on their porches people watching and striking conversations with passersby. Although this is not a place where I could "stock up" on all the produce I desire, it is a great place to stop in to purchase a few items. I love that this market is still around and that some of the culture and history of Frenchtown is being preserved.

i've been staying in a hotel very close to this pizza place and I strongly believe in pizza Friday…read more I've gotten two pizzas that are 10 inch build your own. I like to make my own pizza with a garlic Parmesan base and I add tomatoes, feta cheese and red onion. It comes out absolutely delicious every time I've gotten it. I've also gotten the baked meatball sub, which is exactly how you want a baked sub to be it's perfectly crunchy bread with melted cheese and really great sauce on the meatballs. I've also gotten a small Mediterranean salad and I added chicken and the thing was huge. It took up the entire container and was a really good deal for all the food that you got. i've ordered a head on their website or using the Clover app and it's really easy. They never have any issues and everything's usually ready on time. I don't usually show up before the estimated time so I haven't had any problems with things being late. I've also gone in and ordered and just kind of sat and waited for me to go. This is the most traditional pizza shop type of place you've ever been to. It smells amazing when you walk in the door and all of the staff are really really friendly and have been quick to offer a drink while I wait or give me suggestions if I'm not sure what I want to eat. (I did not take any with me, I don't think it would reheat well in a hotel microwave.) They charge per topping when you do a build your own, but to me it was worth the price I paid. All staff interactions were great.
