Loved this new Aldi! It's located on San Jose across from the Walmart. Walking in it's nicer then the other Aldi I have been too, anyone who has shopped Aldi knows it's kinda bare bones shopping...prices are much cheaper but the other one was very no frills, this store was much nicer and meats and produce seemed to be of higher quality too! Things to know: -Bring a quarter to get a cart, then get your quarter back when you bring your cart back -Bring a bag to bag your own groceries in -Prices are so good! Bag of apples $2.49, Chicken breast about $1.60 lb! All their brand items I tasted, tasted good to me -They also sell random stuff for the house too, they had clearance out toys from Christmas for great prices last time I went -Beer and wine for the low too! -Cheap flowers too! Roses $3.99 Good quality + great prices = I'll be back!

ALDI - GRAND OPENING IN MANDARIN =)

New Aldi location in the Mandarin area. Grand Opening was yesterday (Thursday 10/4/18) so I did a little Yelp recon. I always love new stores because they have all kinds of promos and sales going on. Store is always clean and organized. What's great about Aldi is at times, they will carry odds and ends stuff in stock, like mountain biking stuff, toolsets, patio furnitures and other stuff you normally would not see in grocery stores. What caught my eye while browsing down the Aldi isles where their pizza selections. A 16" Supreme pizza cost $5.99. Most pizzas at that size runs $12-14 on average. They also have other various pizza selections. I bought a Supreme pizza and will be trying it soon. The store itself was well organized. Plenty of parking spaces. Friendly staff. Come checkout this new local business.

If you know what to expect, this is a decent place to pick up some groceries. No frills as a lot of the packaged goods are displayed in the boxes they are shipped in - just cut open. They offer fresh produce and meat as well as organic options throughout the store. Mostly private label stuff which is where you will experience the most savings. I picked up some organic extra virgin olive oil for $4.00 for a 17 oz bottle. Examples as follows: Corn chips about a $1.50 vs. $3.00 for Fritos Milk about $2.00 a gallon vs. $4.00 for TG Lee Pint of "specialty" ice cream about $2.00 compared to Ben and Jerry's for $5.00 Cereal less than $2.00 vs. $4.00+ for Kellogg's, etc. I did see Tide as well as some Coke products which was surprising but of course they had competitive private labels for those products. They also have beer and wine as well with a pretty good selection. You will be charged a quarter to use a cart and will get that quarter back when you return the cart to the front of the store. You also need to bring your own bags as they have NONE at all. When you go thru the register, they scan your products and put them back into another cart. After checking out it's on you to roll your cart to a self-bagging area. If the store isn't too busy, I'm sure this system works well. If for some reason you come during a peak time, that self-bagging area could be #thunderdome. Just kidding #notkidding

I prefer this location over Southside probably because it's on the newer side and the Town Center location can get too crowded. There seemed to only be one cashier around 7pm but luckily it wasn't busy at all. During the grand opening a few months ago, they gave out a reusable bag and had an attendant stationed near the entrance in case a confused customer wasn't familiar with the 25-cent rent-a-cart deal. They also had quarters available if the customer didn't have pocket change for the cart. Smart move, Aldi. Smart move. You definitely don't want to start off with a bad experience before the new customer even has a chance to enter the store. I admit, I was one of those bewildered folks when I first visited the St. Augustine store awhile back - "How's this cart thing work?" Anyway, for me, there's definitely an appeal with the store's small footprint - you're in and out rather quickly since there's probably a total of 5-6 aisles (if there's even that many.) I LOVE a good deal like $1.29 strawberries. Yes, strawberry season is right around the corner but that's 1/3 the current price at most other retailers. Did I mention they were huge strawberries too? In my experience, I don't remember any questionable produce quality although I did feel some way over-ripened avocados today. Aldis started in Germany in the early 60s and has been in the US for over 40 years. They must be doing something right to hang in there this long, right? They also carry some organic and gluten free options if that's your thing. Sample pricing: Jalapeños .79 cents/bag Grapes $1.19/lb Strawberries $1.29 / Organic $3ish Valentine cards .99 cents Pop-up valentine cards $1.99 Prosciutto $3.29 Anyway, bring a quarter for the cart. TIP: Two dimes and a nickel will not work. Haha. You'll get it back once you return/click your cart back in. Bring reusable bag(s) or pay for one - it's the same bag it yourself concept as IKEA, folks.

I came in to check out this brand new location of Aldi yesterday morning and it was a fun experience. I'm glad to see Aldi is popping everywhere here in Jax. This store is newer but about to be the same size as all of the other locations. The place is very well organized, offer a variety of fresh, unbeatable price produce, fruits, meat, poultry and eggs. I really like the large selection of wines that they carry at this location. It is located right next to bone fish grill on San jose so it's hard to miss with plenty of parking.

I am so glad Aldo's opened here in Mandarin! This store is different then the one on Southside Blvd for one...you walk into beautiful veggies not chips and candy...hello! Not that u can't find what u want at the other store this one just makes it easier! The meat looks fresh and the selection of cheeses at a good price are exceptional! Of course they have a "nonfood" isle of yoga pants, rain boots, flannel shirts, skillets to mention a few...lol! I will come here especially when I need my veggie fix!

Since no state mask mandate and Mayor finally lifted the city mandate, Is anyone venturing in without a mask? I'm rating to go if that's the case!

You might see tractors roll up through out the day bringing fresh picked broccoli or cauliflower. The carrots and potatoes are also grown right here, berries are local; and more I'm not thinking of for sure. The flavor and quality of the produce will knock your socks off!! County Line makes me seem like a better chef than I am, because everything tastes so good!! The fruit - berries, citrus, mangoes, bananas, you name it! They have several refrigerator coolers as well, where you can get herbs and lettuces. There are some locally made goods as well, local honey, barbecue and hot sauces, etc. The people are knowledgeable, kind and wildly efficient. The most amazing thing is their prices. The cauliflower is at least twice as large as what's sold at the grocery store; it tastes ten times better, and costs half. I have doubled the amount of vegetables we're eating weekly for less than I would have spent at the grocery store, and it tastes so good! Driving out each weekend has become a little ritual for me. I slow down, enjoy the drive, select wholesome, fresh for the week, and most weeks I get to see one of the farmers there unloading fresh veggies from their tractor and I get to thank someone who is integral to feeding my family. I'm sad when my schedule occasionally doesn't permit me to go. Good to know: bring cash, they don't accept cards. There is an ATM onsite, but course there is always a fee for using standalone machines. Such a special place, I wish them everything good.
