I don't know what it was recently, but I made a run going to many different Dollar General stores…read more I was shopping with my dad a lot and he seems to like DG so much that he jokingly calls them 'The Mall' since they are popping up in such odd locations in smaller communities. Since we had already stopped at one in this area and didn't find what we wanted there, we decided to come here to see if they had the item in question before we headed to a big box store. This one was easy to get to but hard to park at. Even though the spots were clearly marked where you can and cannot park, people just parked wherever they pleased. Areas that were meant to allow for easier maneuvering in the lot and marked as no parking, people were parking because they were too good to have to walk a few extra steps. Honestly put up a barrier or something so that no one would park there. Inside was constantly busy. With the constant flow of traffic in the parking lot meant for a constant flow of customers in the store. Not always a good thing in a DG. I mean we all know the aisles are narrow and sometimes cluttered with carts. Like other locations there were a lot of items on the top of shelves, but missing on the shelves where a customer could reach it.

I was told that this location used to be a Giant Eagle Express that didn't work out. DG came in,…read moredid a quick landlord special to the interior and called it a DG Market. Prior to this visit, I had never been in a DG Market, but there isn't much difference from a regular DG. They just throw in some produce and meats that aren't frozen to tack on the Market portion of the name. With them reusing the building they were able to use the space nicely and didn't have to do much with the rest of the store, aisle wise. I thought it was a novel idea for them to add the meat and produce, but overall I wasn't impressed with this location. I know why they put it here was for the college students to have access to something fresh, but it is definitely not a destination for those from out of town. I walked about here for a bit, I was with my family. I didn't see anything that I needed except for a sweet tea that I don't have the chance to get much anymore since I moved. I walked around and didn't see much else. I ended up paying and exited the store.

I love this particular Sheetz (at least in the summer when IUP isn't fully in session). I order a…read moreveggie hoagie, toasted and my husband always gets two hot dogs. We've placed this order all over Pennsylvania and beyond and this location makes the best of both. Seriously. This location absolutely NAILS the dogs and hoagie. My husband says that they are the best-topped Sheetz dogs he's ever had (we drive out of our way a little to get them here). They stack up my sandwich quite nice and neat at this location. Sometimes, at other locations, they throw the toppings on all sloppy and with no consideration for portion misbalance (they'll put 2 olives on a sandwich but then 45 pickles). Not here! I think they actually care about the quality here. They've renovated this location in recent years. Lots of seating both inside and out. The store is located near the IUP campus so that must be a nice little place to stop for some midnight French fries or booze or whatever folks are into these days. If you have a choice - pick this Sheetz!

The place was easy enough to find, parking was a-plenty, and it was warm and comfortable inside. After being promptly sat down, we were waited on by a cheerful waitress who took care of all our requests - no complaints there. Food came out hot, quick, and just as expected. For desserts we ordered different things from a sundae, to their carnival fries sundae, to their banana split - all good as well. Definitely a nice place to stop in and eat, with a very friendly and accommodating staff...

It was like they made toast, brushed it with eggs and called it French toast. I took 2 bites and the rest got wasted. Both my husband and my overeasy dippy eggs were raw on the inside (slimy egg whites). We then decided to go back with my father in law yesterday (09/03/26, the server wasn't very nice to my father in law while ordering if I'm being honest. My husband and I got pancakes and they were so burnt, my husband's pancakes were black on the bottom. We both ate half of one pancake and had to leave the rest. No we didn't complain because our server seemed like The type of person who would question or argue over it. The only nice thing was we got our food rather quick, but again the quality was not good at all. This little restaurant used to be such a nice little place to take family, now it's not worth going. We go to this Martin's several times a year when we visit our family's lake house. This past week…read morewe had some not great experiences I wanted to share in hopes the feedback can help the store. One of the first things we did was approach the deli counter. A tall older man was there, speaking to a woman; It was a personal conversation not related to a deli order. However, it was clear he was too involved in that conversation to help us, so we placed our order at the kiosk. We then went about our shopping. We got a lot of items, it took a long time. We had to restock a house for 6 people for a 5 day/night trip. We returned to the deli to pick up our order after we finished shopping. Another man came over and lectured us for not rigging the bell and telling them we placed an order at the kiosk. He told us, we have to do this because it doesn't tell them or alert them to orders placed. Well, again we couldn't because the man who was there was too invested in a personal conversation to acknowledge us, however he clearly watched us place this order. The new man then began to ask us about or order. It was not that much. 2lbs of two different cheeses and 1lb of pepperoni. Another lady comes over to the deli and the man who's now helping us is completely overwhelmed and flustered by our order. He calls for help and the original man who's ignored us came over. They then began to prepare her order! Seriously, her's ahead of ours which has now been placed for an hour or more. The man who ignored us sliced her cheese then gave it to her and left. The man helping us, then called for him again and asked him to bring out our cheese; he then told us he had to help her so this is why we had to wait. He then continued to make our order. The whole time I'm wondering why they "had to" make her order first? What the point in the other tall older man is? And so on. We checked out, then checked out with our alcohol, then left the store. We went back to the store the following day realizing we forgot to get 6 filet mignon we needed for diner. We went to the meat counter, and were told there are none. We were told we could buy the $6 ones that are pre frozen in the packages, no thanks. We ended up buying a few small items then went to Palumbo's for the meat we needed. It was really disappointing to be ignored several times by the person at the deli, to be lectured as if we did something wrong, then ignored again, as if we didn't matter, etc. We spent more than $500 between our two trips there Thursday evening and Friday afternoon. To the store; Do something to make your kiosk system alert people an order was placed! Also, consider moving the tall older man to another role. He was way too worried about hitting on ladies and carrying personal conversations than he was about filling customer orders, or acknowledging them at all. He was aware we wanted to order and ignored us for that personal conversation, he was also aware we placed an order at the kiosk, he ignored it intentionally for no real reason at all. He never even said hello to us, nothing at all, just completely ignored us. He was aware we were waiting more than an hour when he then helped someone else instead, and so on.

But, they later go on to contradict themselves. We came here to finish up grabbing those items that we needed for the weekend. We had made multiple stops elsewhere and figured since we weren't able to snag them there, we'd have better luck getting them from here. Of course, that was true. Everything left on our list to get, was in house here. I also went off and did some browsing of my own. I like to hit the clearance section to see if there might be a steal. Most Walmarts have a centralized clearance section, but others have where a department might have an end cap that has their clearance. This store had a combination of the both. You just had to keep your eyes open and pay attention. Back to how my Dad and brother contradicted themselves. They had said that this store, even though smaller, carried everything they needed. While walking around grabbing the items we needed on the grocery side, my brother said something along the lines that he liked an item, but they didn't carry the brand they used to. Funny thing was, the item and brand of that item was literally right in front of us. Maybe they were out of it on their last visit, but I have no way of confirming that. At the end of grabbing everything, I opted for the self checkouts. I'd rather do that than having to wait and interact with anyone else.
