Being from NJ, I wasn't familiar with this place. But WOW. This place is amazing! For people who have never been there, the best way for me to describe this place is Costco stuffed inside of a Trader Joe's. This place is hard to beat. It's got plenty of high quality items at ultra affordable prices, and many times at half the price of other grocers with inferior products. There's really nowhere else you need to go. They must be treated well, because it shows in the the customer service they provide. I was able to complete my shopping trip (on a rainy day) in no time with clean, organized shelves, and a helpful staff. A smile goes a long way with me, especially right now! Budget grocery store with a limited selection of both name brand and off brand products. They offer a decent selection of staple grocery items at affordable prices. They do this in a variety of ways including limited staff, no fancy interior design, no deli or bakery and .25 cent cart fees. Of course you do get your quarter back when you return your cart. read more

Aldi's has fantastic prices on about everything. Their produce is always fresh and half the price of Giant. Their meat department is quality without the high price tag. Our food bill has been cut in half since we switched from Giant. Add in the super quick check out cashiers and it is a winning hand. My wife and I will never shop anywhere else. Sir, I had a very unhappy disgusting and humiliating experience at Aldi Krewston store. I had a very few items collected in an open box only 3" high. when I reached the register the cashier asked me to keep every thing out and I started to do so, kept one item on the table and even before getting time to proceed with the other, the cashier got angry with me and dropped the remaining item upside down on the table and began to scan them. I was upset and asked her if it was right to behave like that. I am a regular customer, 75 year old and felt very much humiliated, What I felt was because my colour is brown and not white. I am do doing the same job in a store with more than 1000 outlets in the US. We never behave in a way the customers will get unsatisfied or humiliated. Aldi will never open more than two registers and people have to wait a long tine to reach the register. That is your company policy and I do not want to comment on it. My concern is that I am still not free from the humiliation I experience before the public. The cashier, a lady, who claimed to be the manager called security to deal with me as if I was a criminal. I had every right to call 911 to protect me when when sent me to another counter to proceed. This kind of indecent and humiliating and insulting experience could never be tolerated. Hope you will look into the matter. Time: approximately 5 pm, bay middle, witness: your security and many customers. read more

You have to "get" Aldis. It's not a full-sized grocery store such as Giant or Acme. The selection, especially in produce, is smaller. But the quality of the items is very good; the chicken is excellent in particular. Nor will you find all the familiar brand names. A lot of times, there is maybe one brand name and Aldi's verison (or even just the Aldi brand.) They buy things in for "special" offers, such as frozen Boston Market entrees and then they are no longer in stock. The middle aisles have Aldi special home goods, some are very nice and some even sell out. And again, they are as-available. They come in, they sell out, they are gone. The breads are excellent, there are European style cookies and chocolates and there are European style cheeses, again, it varies by week. Also bratwurst sausages. The cold meats are pre-packaged, no deli, but very good. Do you save money? Definitely. If you are willing to go with their selection, whatever it is, bring your own bags or pay a dime for plastic handle bags, pack your own groceries and put a quarter in the slot to release your cart from the corral, you'll be fine. I enjoy shopping there because I lived overseas and like finding our German favorites from time to time. But you may need a stop elsewhere to find better eggs, brand names and a bigger selection of produce. read more

As most locals know, prior to Aldi, this location used to be a Bottom Dollar market. Aldi is essentially a no-frills discount-oriented food market. Specifically what this means is that they do not play music through the speaker system nor do they stock items on multi-level shelves like your local Acme or Shop Rite does. While the store size is not as large as Acme or Shop Rite, they manage to pack a lot into the store. For example, you can get sweets, cereal, breads, dairy, fruits, and even meats. Also, you will find no more than 3 or 4 employees working in the store at any time. Finally, as the check-out, the cashiers do not bag your food -- as there are no bags. Therefore, if you plan to shop there, remember these two things: (a) bring your own bags; (b) bring a quarter because that's what it costs to rent a shopping cart. Don't worry because you will get it back as long as you put the cart back and hook it in with the others. A smart concept in my view. All in all, Aldi definitely fills a need. However, there are competitors in this space such as "Save-a-Lot". In addition, the overseas discount market known as "Lidl" has made plans to open stores in the USA in the very near future. read more

This is no doubt the worst of the Aldi food markets, although all have similar modes of operating minimal aisle openings. They wait to the extreme to open a second aisle and seem visibly disgruntled when they have to. They move you along so quickly you can barely maintain your balance through the process, while they toss your food indiscriminately into a cart and move you forward and out like you're an animal. I was injured badly on my leg as i lost my balance trying to grab my food that fell to the floor and slammed my shin against the EMPTY cashier lane step behind me. The male cashier scanning my groceries didn't even have the common decency to stop and ask if i was ok. He kept moving at breakneck speed so to not have to open another aisle. I believe Corporate Headquarters encourages this to maintain a minimum of employees in the store. The Bottom Line is obviously more important to them than Customer Courtesy and Safety. Disgraceful, horrible behavior and disregard for their Customers! Shop there at your own risk as well as dignity. read more
