Aldi's is a great store for fast, cheap and simple shopping. They have few aisle but pack alot of the essentials. I enjoy that they place all the snacks and junk in the front of the store because that means ill usually pass them up on my way to get the items i really need. The milk cheese and butter products are all against the back wall. The have half an aisle for fruits and vegetables. It's just a small amount so nothing to exotic like mangoes or avocados. Just your run of the mill apples, pears, bananas, green peppers, potato, onions...things like that. Most of the food is knock off name brand but it doesn't taste as bad as some other knock offs. I enjoy their cheese and bread products. Plus the frozen meat section is good as well. I always shop here for my freezer and storage bags as they are alot cheaper than hefty or glad brand but they work just as well. The store usually isn't crowded until about 4 to 6, those are the usual just getting off work hours. They charge you for the shopping carts and bags though. That's the only downside. you put a quarter in to get the shopping carts and after you return the cart you receive the quarter back. It's like a deposit of sorts. The paper bags are 5 cents and the plastic ones are 10 cents. I guess they charge for the bags because the groceries themselves are so cheap. Plus, after a while of spending money on bags you start to bring your own. It's a good way to recycle too. I tend to empty on of the chip boxes as soon as i walk in. This helps me avoid paying for the extra bags. One of the best things about ALdi's is that it caters to the life of a single person as well as to a couple or a small family. I can just run in grab what i need without worrying about longlines or being bombarded with one thousand options. I don't like to waste alot of time in the grocery store especially if i just need some milk or napkins so Aldi's helps me to get in and out with little fuss. The cashiers are very speedy so they work to get people along their way ASAP. I look forward to them expanding their produce and fresh meats section but ill settle for the newly organic items that they recently started to stalk. I love me some organic food :)

Turner's Dairy Ok so…read moreyou already grabbed Permanti brothers and Vincent's Pizza What's left? Turner's Dairy products. Pretty much anything made by Turner's dairy. I thought that maybe I was biased or maybe my taste buds where programed from elementary school to enjoy Turner's milk. From the lunch line, to school field trips, if you grew up in Pittsburgh, then you consumed your share of Turner's. I had a few goals on my trip but the most interesting was my desire to be a Turner's connoisseur. You would think that I was sampling fine wine here. I needed to settle this mental debate: Is Turner's really as good as my taste buds recounted, or was i just a kid who was loving chocolate milk at the time. Note that from this point forward I will refer to this point forward I will be spelling it chocolate, but in my mind I will be reading it as the Brad Pitt flick 'Shock-o-lotte." This odd obsession was held tight in my mind as a clandestine mission. A quick product local search revealed brown gold at a convince store within a half mile of my hotel. It was however, the hotel snack shop where i found my first turner's product. A bottle of regular single serve iced tea with its half scripted "T" and its pin stripe advertising beckoning me. Ah the pinstripes. Like the New York Yankees of diary and iced tea products. I had been hoping for cartons but this would have to do. I purchased a few bottles and took them to my room. I offered some to my girlfriend, a 'Pure Leaf' lover who initially did not like the first swig. After no other beverages as an option, she finished the bottle and became instantly addicted consuming a large about of Turner's for the remainder of the trip. The local proprietor turned out to be a gold mine of products. The iced tea was available in Peach, raspberry, lemon, southern style available in your choice of cartons, bottles and small pint sized portions each one proving just as delicious as the prior. From here I moved in the chocolate milk line. I was unable to get my hands on the pin stripped boxes. I located whole milk chocolate milk in a bottle which I shared with my two sons. After a 20 year hiatus, my taste buds once again marveled at the taste. I began to wonder if i had enjoyed the milk more because it was whole milk as opposed to 2%, but I was able to confirm my convictions when i found a bottle of 2% chocolate milk. Let's swing back to the iced teas for a minute. The bottles were only 99 cents and the cartons 50 cents apiece which i found surprising. So drink up. I didn't pay much attention to the price of the chocolate milk, but it's liquid crack... kinda, so get your fix. You may also find it odd and interesting (I prefer the term eccentric when referring to my odd ball behaviors) that I previously emailed Turner's though their Facebook page to ask for unfilled cartons so that I could display them in my Pittsburgh Sports room back home. Perhaps they thought I was a bit off, i was able to secure two cartons, which i poked holes in the bottom letting the liquid drain out. The cartons are now part of my Pittsburgh sports room. This is not so far-fetched when you consider that Andy Worhol (Pittsbrugh Native) made a series of pop art Brillo box displays.

Retail vendors are available offering unique products unavailable in stores. Regulars are easily noticeable walking towards their regular vendor spending a considerable time amount with their favorites taking their day slow exploring the days live music or fun activities offered that Saturday enjoyed by adults, kids & families alike. One day I will partake in the full mid morning to afternoon experience enjoying everything this farmers market has to offer. My sister Introduced me to Swissvale farmers market 2 years ago & since have enjoyed vendors and stalls offered that Saturday. On occasion vendors rotate & new ones take their place that Saturday or become a permanent fixture. I suggest enthusiasts follow their favorite vendors on social media or the web as select vendors attend other farmers market venues and or are available online. Judging by stalls presenting fresh produce, farmers in attendance take pride in their crops & offer customers their best. My favorite stall offers concord grapes & ripe blueberries. Enjoying throughout the week as a smoothie or in cereal my fruits remained flavorful. My future purchases will include in addition to my tradition grapes & berries will be tomatoes green beans, apples & cider. Farmers here are informative reguarding their crops & will show customers friendly service & recommend their best crop. Advantages shopping the stalls over grocery stores are price supporting local farmers & quality. Customers who receive EBT are included with workers' swiping cards & recipients receiving wooden tokens in exchange & valid at stalls & select vendors. Local musicians liven up the atmosphere adding a fun ambience to the experience. My sister participated in one Saturday's fun activity which included sidewalk chalk drawing. Everyone who participated made wonderful artworks fascinating me with color variety & designs. Partaking in different vendors 3 favorites of mine included Great Harvest Bread Company Pita Land & Livengood Brothers Maple Syrup. Pepperoni Rolls & Cheddar Biscuits from Great Harvest Bread tasted best. Cheddar Biscuits got set aside & had during breakfast on Sunday & warmed up enjoying a buttery soft dough with cheddar flavoring consistency putting Red Lobster to shame & would recommend eating as a sausage biscuit or Biscuits & gravy. Maple Syrup at its finest offering superior flavor complimenting french toast pancakes, other breakfast delights or any recipe requiring syrup. Selling healthy alternatives to any potato chips or nachos. Pita Land sells Pita chips & paris with Hummus or select dips available at select vendors or stores. In addition to farmers markets Pita Land chips retail at select stores if you run low previous to Sat & crave Pita Chips. Excited with anticipation My return is evident exploring other vendors & stalls present. Include a favorite vendor in your review if you wish. Recommending other farmers market enthusiasts & myself to shop with. After finding out…read moreit was our first time there, the lovely woman working the counter gave us the rundown of the menu and then let us sample several of their most popular juices. While we enjoyed everything we tried, the surprising favorite was the beet juice - the sweetness perfectly balanced the earthiness of the beets. We ordered a Triple Berry Blast (with frozen mango subbed in for banana) and the Gym Nut with some protein powder added. Both were made quickly, and we were both impressed by how flavorful and delicious they were. Having never been in here before, I was surprised by the breadth of the menu. We were already talking about how we'd like to come back and try the smoothie bowls and I also have my eye on the toasts!

She ranked them in order from least sweet to most sweet and described each one and asked for our preferences. She also customized my order when I told her I didn't love a strong pineapple flavor. The ambiance was very cute and trendy! We took our order To Go but there were a few small tables if you wanted to drink there! The drinks were on the pricy side but that was to be expected - I think we got two smoothies and a juice and it was around $30. We got the juice because there was a package where we got it for 1/2 off. We ordered the Glow Getter and the Blue Dream smoothies. Both tasted amazing! The next time we go I would definitely get the Glow Getter, but the Blue Dream had a lot of pulp in it, which I didn't personally enjoy. If that doesn't bother you then you would enjoy it!

The lady in the customer service desk was very unfriendly and never said hello or asked how to help, just stared at me with a disgusted look. With a smile on my face, I took the item out of the bag and gave her the receipt and said that I just wanted to return something within the 30 day window. She rolled her eyes at me and said she can't take it because it's past 30 days. I said that no, it will be 30 days tomorrow but that it's 29 days today. She said again, no it's 30 days now. I asked her if she knows how to count because it's 29. She screamed at me saying no, it's over 30 days. I asked again for her to explain how she keeps saying it's over 30 days when the receipt and calendar clearly says 29 days and she yelled at me again but this time saying she isn't returning it. I was very angry and just left. I regret not demanding to speak to a manager and I'm debating on going back before they close today. This store is by my house, so it's nice stopping in to get something quick, but I may need to suck it up and drive 20mins out of my way for now on as I don't see me ever going back there.

So, today we headed to Kuhn's to do our replacement shopping. We needed pretty much everything. We spent a good hour and thirty minutes shopping. We headed to the registered, there were two cashier's open. Lane 2 was free, and as soon as he saw us coming, he sighs loudly, throws his elbows on the counter and puts his head in his hands. He starts saying "Oh my F'ing Go* Man" (with the actual swear/inappropriate words). He rolled his eyes and flailed his arms around as if he were tasked with the worst possible chore for no compensation while being reprimanded by his mother who was about to go get her belt.. He proceeded to sigh, smack his lips, and make noises while complaining under his breath our entire transaction. He was throwing/flinging our groceries around as if they didn't matter. He made no eye contact and gave no greeting. My husband offered to bag for him, and did. He didn't say a word in response to my husband. He allowed the belt to sit, so I was unable to continuously load groceries as he scanned. He made it appear that sliding chips across the scanner was the most difficult thing someone could possibly do. He saw a bagger, though my husband was bagging, and he would occasionally throw something gap-hazards into a bag, he then told him, "You're going to have to help me man.". It took a whopping 15 minutes for our order to be scanned and bagged, $327.58. He didn't tell me my total, he didn't say a word. He complained it's been a hour since he got to look at his phone, he said that to himself. As the receipt printed he placed his hand over the printer to force it to crumple up, then crumpled it more, held it out toward me, kind of, then immediately walked away, pulling up his pants and complaining... Never said a word to me as I said, "thank you, have a nice day.". I called the store while loading my vehicle with groceries. The manager, Mark didn't seem to care so much. He asked me who, as if he didn't know? Obviously you have two cashier's only one is male, only one just walked off the cash register.. seriously? I did noting but spend money here, I asked for no discount (though I missed the 15% off due to my power not being back). I was polite, I smiled, I spent my hard earned money here. No assistance, my money from my debit card. I asked them for nothing, we even bagged our own stuff (most of it). We got nothing large or heavy other than a case of water we lifted for them to scan. We were calm and didn't deserve to be treated this way. I won't be back to Kuhn's until that cashier is gone. The prices are higher than competition. I go there for location, because it's small, they pay their people well and we have a good experience every time. I can't say we have always had a good experience now. I'm disgusted with this treatment. I don't know what I wanted from the manager, maybe not him being condescending, "what cashier was it?", isn't not obvious? That was condescending. Whoever owns this place needs to take a look at their staffing and make adjustments or they are going to end up losing all their customers.
