Yes you may not have 15 different brands of toothpaste, but what they carry is generally of good quality and a fair price. Solid meat section. Good fruit and veggies. And awesome random items that rotate each week. Not the best cold cuts but there are other places for that. This specific store is great because its not as overrun as the other locations I ve been to in BNE.

This Aldi is one of the newer ones, sitting on the corner of Kelvin Grove Rd & Bishop St, near the surfing manikin on Kelvin Grove Rd, if you know what I'm talking about. There is undercover and outside parking, but be prepared to walk up steps or up the lengthy ramp to get to the store. Ambience ** While still relatively new and shiny, upon stepping in, I already got the feeling this place won't be around for long. With a Woolworths and Coles within stone-throwing distance, and in an isolated spot not crowded by eateries or entertainment offerings, I feel like Aldi's generic advertising is not going to help this one stay afloat. While it looks like everything is so perfectly Ikea-packed, I miss things. Price labels are stuck above items instead of below, and my supermarket education for the third (ok, fifth) time gets an overhaul. Besides what we've come to expect in the way of stacked groceries and strange branding, at the perfect moment every afternoon, the sun set pierces through the a wall to wall window to blaze your eyeballs. Since some of us would consider this natural lighting good for the environment, I'll just add - the sun hits the furthest wall where all the chilled goods (raw & preserved meats, cheeses, dips, milk) are stored. Still safe? For sure, but as if you're not going to doubt it when it hits you. Service **** Now that I'm not as noob to Aldi, I know what to do. In fact I spent the better part of today thinking about the cashier confrontation I was going to be facing this afternoon. They always scan and stack WAY too fast for anyone to be able to keep up with, then you're facing the repack over at the bench of shame. The trick is to make sure the person you line up behind has a LOT of items, or at least more than you. Calculate that in the time it takes you to stack all your items on what you once thought were the novelty oversized conveyor belt they'll be finishing up. Grab the bags, open four of them in your trolley and you're ready to take on the check-out fill-up. Stress attack avoided, you got your stuff in the trolley, and you can pay at the same time. Now that I'm feeling proud of myself, on reflection, I think my cashier was being kinder than what I've experienced before. She was definitely much more smiley and friendly than I've experienced at Aldi before. Products on offer *** One of everything. That's.... pretty much it. It's fine when you're on a budget to be paying less, and for those who regularly visit and know where what they want is. For those of us who want to um and ah over a range of 50 types and brands of toothpaste, stick to your mainstream supermarket. The meat, fruit and veg are ok - in fact, the fruit, upon reflection of the plums, cherries, and after nomming down a whole punnet of blueberries is better; it looked much riper. The meat on the other hand; fifty-fifty. The prices were lower, I paid $5 for 400gm of ham in 100gm portions, whereas you'd pay $3 per 100gm at Woolies, but the quality of the raw meat looked a bit less than average. Overall I probably will go back again. In six months. Because I'll always hope one day I could finish a whole supermarket shop at Aldi without having to make a trip back to Coles or Woolies.

This is probably one of the larger Coles I've been into. They generally have a good selection of…read morefruit and veg, and it's usually kept well stocked. Occasionally, their prices don't make sense when compared to other grocery stores / supermarkets, which can get very frustrating. Because the store is large, the Asian section is kept reasonably well stocked, but there are some glaring omissions (shelf-stable silken tofu, for example). Generally, it is well organised, but there are times when it gets a bit confusing (sugar and flour aren't next to each other; some soy sauce is in the Asian section, but others are in the Health Food section, etc). They have a good range of tofu and, unlike Woolworths, haven't tried to make their own brand, though the range does appear to be getting a little smaller. In terms of customer service, the few times I've been unable to find a product, staff have been extremely helpful, and searched both the computer and the physical shelves. They also have self-service checkout here, which is both annoying when it's available, and frustrating when it's not. Overall, a reliable shopping experience that serves well for big shops, though it does not necessarily deliver on specialty items.

They do what Aldi want them to do best, be courteous and efficient. Get those people through that long line of check out. Get those crates moved pronto. I love this Aldi because the staff there are friendly and whilst they don't chit chat will tell you and ask you how your day has been. They are pretty good at hunting down things for you, and let me tell you when the new stuff comes out on Wednesdays and Saturdays there is like a swamp of desperate people waiting to pick up the latest bargain. I'm one of them. You can get a Jack n Jill branded Train Table set (almost an exact replica of the Fisher Price one) made with quality wood for $60. The other brands go for over $100 easily. You can get really cool stuff for yourself, the kids, there is always something well-priced here. The Mamia branded nappies are cheaper and even better than Huggies. They don't leak through, just form a heavy gel that sits in the nappy until it sags so much you realise you have to change it. 9-14kg Toddler ones go for $13/pack... that's cheap! And when you're done crowding around the middle section where the bargains are, you can get some damn fine salmon to grill for dinner.

This Aldi isn't overly large, but it definitely caters to all. The discount supermarket was filled with brands that look similar to well known brands, positioned next to said well known brands. I was just there to kill time and picked up a couple of non food related essentials, mainly looking for skin care products which I decided to leave as I didn't want to mess with my face by using a product it's not used to. It's not a big Aldi compare to other location but it's close and convenience. All the items there if it's not cheaper, at least the same price as you shop at Coles or other main grocery stores. I wish they have more selection of vegetables and fruits. The service is good, the cashiers generally are smiling all the time. They don't have staff walking around, so if you have any questions you have to wait to tag anyone that come out from the stock room. No free grocery bag either - available for purchase, make sure to bring yours but if you don't there always boxes that you can use and that's is free. They accept Credit card but there is a fee on it - I'm not sure how many percent. I usually pay with cash or Eftpos. Free parking for up to 2 hours or if you take the bus, 175 and 174 is running very often. Stones Corner bus station is just 2 minutes walk. I love saving, if you do go check it out!

There is a vast range of bakery, deli and meat items and usually a lot of discounts, particularly Monday and Tuesdays. It's always pretty clean and well stocked with a lot of staff and an ice bag freezer. The only thing that could be improved on is adding self- serve checkouts to make it quicker however there is always one or two express checkouts open and you can usually get out quick.

These guys have got your back with more products than you can poke a stick at. (Be sure to bring your own bags/boxes as Aldi phased out plastic bags.)
