This is probably one of the larger Coles I've been into. They generally have a good selection of fruit and veg, and it's usually kept well stocked. Occasionally, their prices don't make sense when compared to other grocery stores / supermarkets, which can get very frustrating. Because the store is large, the Asian section is kept reasonably well stocked, but there are some glaring omissions (shelf-stable silken tofu, for example). Generally, it is well organised, but there are times when it gets a bit confusing (sugar and flour aren't next to each other; some soy sauce is in the Asian section, but others are in the Health Food section, etc). They have a good range of tofu and, unlike Woolworths, haven't tried to make their own brand, though the range does appear to be getting a little smaller.
In terms of customer service, the few times I've been unable to find a product, staff have been extremely helpful, and searched both the computer and the physical shelves. They also have self-service checkout here, which is both annoying when it's available, and frustrating when it's not.
Overall, a reliable shopping experience that serves well for big shops, though it does not necessarily deliver on specialty items. read more
