They do not follow COVID regulations at all. I worked there for a few months, and had to complain to the ALDI Alert Line in order to have masks work by employees at all times (including in the cooler/freezer- where the virus could spread easiest).
TWO employees tested positive for COVID, and I informed management (Christine). It was completely ignored for several days until the government reported it to the store and they were required to.
They do not enforce customers wearing masks. The reasoning is "they might attack you." The store was cited by the health department for not enforcing these rules, yet as an employee I was not allowed to ask customers to wear masks? These people are going through the whole store, touching things and coughing on them, endangering literally anyone else coming into the store.
They do not clean properly, as they should. They do not enforce regulations in the store/in the back, as they should. I have no doubt this store is responsible for quite a few COVID cases in this area.
COVID aside, the produce is often not rotated, leaving rotten fruit and vegetables touching the "fresh" ones. ALWAYS check expiration dates- they love to sneak expiring stuff towards the front so they don't lose money.
I honestly generally loved the work environment- very nice coworkers. But it's an unsafe store, and the management, while "effective" in keeping with capitalistic ideals, does not care about public health whatsoever. read more
