They have a rather small selection of ready-to-go meals, and I think they only get one delivery of pastries per day. But they're open early, they're open late, and their prices are good, in spite of being the only food option for the numerous hotels and upscale residential developments that have gone up nearby. Having said that, I've recently discovered that silken tofu can be had in the health food shop in the Greenwich town centre. Anyway, this particular Sainsbury's outpost is a massive (read: American-style sprawl) store crammed with lots of products from fish sauce to doughnuts to Sauternes. If you're a car owning, one-stop-shop of a gal/guy living in SE LDN, then this might be your jam.

The thing that I wish would change is the petrol station, no pay at the pump. Also Tesco had introduced a feature whereby you could select how much petrol you wanted. This Sainsburys included none of the above! Yes, they had the bakery but everything was burnt. Yes, they had the pizza counter but the staff looked dirty with their hair down and not in hats and the ingredients of the pizza did not look fresh. I was also ignored and had to ask to be served, as they all stood around chatting. They did, of course, have all the basic stuff, but that's not enough for me. This might have been a bad day for the store, but I won't be returning to try again.

I prefer this store to many other branches of Waitrose, the store has a good feel to it, and it is in a useful location within a large shopping centre, meaning you can pick up essentials or even do a weekly shop while picking up the rest of your shopping across the mall. They have handheld scanners at the front of the store, meaning you can scan as you walk around the score, or use the QR code for mobile scanning. This is a handy feature more and more stores are offering now, but Waitrose seem to do it well, rather than playing hide and seek with the QR codes (I'm talking about you Sainsbury's) or forgetting about a mobile app altogether (I'm talking about you Tesco) Obviously, the prices are slightly higher than other supermarkets as Waitrose is a more premium brand, but they do have some products where the pricing is reasonable/competitive, the free-from range could be much better, which is the main reason I prefer Marks and Spencer at the other end of the mall. Then there are those that make you feel that they are reenacting an episode from 'Any Way is Essex' and no for the record i don't watch it, i just know! So it is with reluctance that I find myself having the need to enter into an establishment that feels the need to brainwash it customers into over purchasing goods that will inevitably end up in the bin as waste. I leave this store feeling not that i've purchased something, but like i'm escaping from a different dimension. Then having to negotiate out of the car park, as there is always a plethora of cars being driven by those lazy people who don't want to walk further than they need to, so just sit and wait for a space nearest the entrance, when there are dozens of spaces further down. My latest observation is that they seem to have adopted to driving on the right hand side as they navigate around the car park looking for that prime parking spot.
