Bob Aldi did our home inspection in New Hartford for us. When we called to get a quote he was extremely professional and knowledgeable, you got a sense he enjoyed what he did too. He has up to date technology he uses to get you the best results possible, and at the end he had everything well organized in an electronic binder complete with the pictures he took and descriptions of what he found. As a mechanical engineer in the MEP field, I have had the not always pleasurable experience of dealing with inspectors that range from clueless to the alpha know-it-all. Bob Aldi is neither, he is however, the best inspector I have had the pleasure to work with in my 25+ career. I have read many reviews not just about Bob, but a wide variety. I'm always amazed when a business is reviewed based on price. Now I understand about not paying for expensive goods and services when it's not needed, but this in not one of those instances. The cost of Bob, his experience, tools and time far outweighs the "cheap" guy. I often use the following: Price...... Service...... Quality...... Pick TWO! If you want a low price then you sacrifice Quality and Service. If you want high quality and fast service, well then you have to pay a fair price. Bob's prices are more than fair, in fact they more than justify the cost of doing business with him. He attention to detail, knowledge and experience, and quality of his report and the time he takes to do a thorough job more than pays for itself in the cost savings down the road for not being fully informed on what you are buying or selling. Contacted this Gentlemen for a Quote after a 20-30 minute conversation on the phone. Although his rate was a touch higher than others, his reviews and overall knowledge had me sold, so i attempted to hire him. After asking a question via email to find out if there would be an additional charge to flow water at the next door residence that shares the well, he decided it was too complicated and no longer wanted to work for me. Not sure how that question was too complex, but I stated it wasn't necessary and that I'd still like to hire him, and he declined. What a waste of my time. read more

Bob Aldi inspected a home for us September 19th, 2019, here are some reasons we found him/his work to be extraordinary: 1) From the first scheduling to the final report Bob answered our texts and calls for questions immediately, including evenings and weekends. 2) His knowledge on every subject was superlative--ask him anything about roofing to mold to wells and critter holes in NY state and he knows it. 3) The inspection took 6 hours--he opened every door, turned on every device, tried each outlet, and took about 1,300 pictures of the home, explaining, as he went, what issues were, what the fixes for them were, etc. 4) Then gave us a detailed report using the best pictures to illustrate issues--oh my heavens--look at an example of a report on his page and you get the idea--but to say it was thorough is an understatement. 4) His price was--incredibly, the same as where we checked elsewhere--worth every cent for the info it gives and the format it's given in. This electronic document can easily be handed off to the electrician, for example, to address each problem. 5) Both the home owner and us (buyers) found this man to be a Master of his Arts--we marveled at his work as we walked through, with him--I have never met a more qualified, dedicated, careful and considerate (he wears shoe-covers not to dirty the floor) human being in more possession of knowledge in his field. 6) And he offered, in the end, to answer follow-up questions in all our years to come. Truly, I am in awe and deep gratitude to have hired him and would not consider having anyone else inspect a home for me in the future. read more

We contacted Bob to do a home inspection on a Friday afternoon. We were trying to meet the seller's guidelines of having a home inspection done within 2 weeks as they were anxious to move across the country. Bob was open to do a Monday morning inspection, which worked out great for us! He explained everything in detail over the phone of his process and gave me a quote based on the size and age of the home (130 yr old Victorian). I felt this was a fair price for everything he was promising to inspect and with his sophisticated equipment. He did forewarn us that inspect would take at least 4 hrs, which we were fine with, because we wanted to know everything about this old home we were about to purchase. Overall we felt the entire inspection process was VERY thorough and Bob explained each process as he performed it, as well as point out all of his concerns. He went above and beyond with crawling in tight attic spaces, and using ladders in the garage loft to make sure he checked every little corner out. The inspection cost was absolutely worth it for the time and effort Bob put into our inspection. We received an extremely detailed report with several hundred photos and full explanations of any issues and concerns within the home. This is something we very much appreciated and helped us concrete our decision to purchase the home. I would HIGHLY recommend Bob Aldi to anyone needing a home inspection, especially a home with many uncertainties, old or new.
