Child of person panhandling at Aldi doorstop

Like the store, prices are great, selection usually pretty decent. Had very few issues over the years till recently. Workers a little less friendly, often seem irritated. Now each time I come to this location there has continually been people sitting RIGHT outside the door (literally at you feet) begging for money. Today there is a woman with her young child who is trying to keep busy playing with the carts and coins while his mom is sitting outside the door with a cardboard sign. I think this is extremely inappropriate and also potentially illegal. Prior has been a man with dog, etc. In general I suggest always checking dates on the fresh meats and taking a quick sniff of packages.

I won't get into all the details of how it all works as this is just suppose to be a review, you can find all the info you need on their website and Facebook page though! For $15 dollars you get a bunch of vegetables and fruit! This is such a great value for those willing to put up with the hassles of getting up early and bringing a basket. Basically you pay online and choose if you want the regular basket or the organic and add any extras. The extras are fresh (no-junk like high fructose corn syrup) bread, Mexican packs full of peppers, boxes of oranges, and other assortments that change with every order. They try to get a lot of the produce from local sources, and it will really get you to venture outside of your food comfort zone and cook some new things. I found everything to be delicious and had a lot of fun getting baskets and talking with others about what they were going to make with certain unusual items and then posting results on their facebook page. It is really helpful in inspiring you to eat better. The only negative I had with this location was with them almost DEMANDING you sign up to volunteer. I have no issues with volunteering, but it was only my first time there and the website clearly defines all the information for volunteering. It rubbed my husband the wrong way and I've had a hard time convincing him to go back due to the experience. I did hear that someone (it wasn't me!) complained about the situation and now someone new is running the show, so from what I've heard it seems to be better now. Still minus a star for me due to it and hopefully I'll be back to try it again someday. I still recommend it to everyone though, because it is just such a great deal and such a cool thing to have right here in Fort Worth!

You pay either 15$ for a regular basket or 25$ for a organic basket and pick up a whopping amount of fruits and veggies. Mostly local, in season and always fresh. I really like the add ons that you can do as well. The honey wheat bread is the best I've ever had! It's all natural and comes in packs of 5. They freeze wonderfully. Every now and then you can snag gallons of organic olive oil for cheap. The pick up times and locations vary depending on where you are in the metroplex. One basket is WAY more than enough for 4. I split my basket with my family and friends. I'll dole out extras that I know I won't use before they go bad. It's worth a shot!

The young woman at the register was very nice while taking our order and patient as it was our first time. The inside was a bit tight, yet welcoming but understandable for a small local business. The young lady brought out half our order. I had asked for the chicken to be warm on my salad, it was not. No biggy the flavor was good. But we had gotten about half way through our meal and the rest of the order was not out. My wife waited in line to ask about it. When she got to the register an older woman was very short and dismissive with her. My wife put in a second order for my daughter, to go. The rest of our order did not come out till our to go order did. My wife was not happy with the dismissive attitude so she went to the car. I went up to order dessert and the same older woman was not very personable while taking my order. Overall the food was good, the atmosphere was comfortable, but the interaction with the older woman changed our experience. We may or may not try it again. And the dessert was fantastic.

On my way to work I stopped in quickly to stock our community fridge with Seagram Ginger Ale, division of Coca Cola. Publix weekly ad listed Coca Cola products 2 for 2, 6 pack bottles, mini cans and 8 packs of 16oz. I have been purchasing this special almost weekly and it always shows up on my 'just for you' list when offered, as it did this morning when I checked the new weekly ad. I went into the store, rather hurried, went to the customer service register and as approaching mentioning how happy I was with Publix always having Seagrams Ginger ale in some kind of special. As the associate rings my purchase, she said 'you must be mistaken, Ginger ale is never on 2 for 2' I said, well it is marked and advertised as 2 for 2 ALL Coca Cola products. She said, 'Never on Ginger ale' and walked with me to the aisle, where the sale was clearly marked ALL Coca Cola products. I had just purchased this exact sale, 2 weeks ago. I left extremely angry, returned to the parking lot and googled Seagrams. They were purchased by Coca Cola in 2002. I went back into the store to witness the associate relaying our interaction to her manager, as she saw my reentering, approaching the manager, she picked up the Ginger Ale and walked it back to the soda aisle. The manager did confirm that I was correct and that Seagrams was indeed a division of Coca Cola and part of the advertised sale. The associate in question, still within ear shot of this interaction, continued to replace the items to the shelf, ignoring me and her manager. I know this is just about soda on sale, but the attitude and refusal to even refer to a manager or fellow associate, all within a few feet of this interaction, it the issue. The manager was extremely apologetic and offered to review the situation with the associate as a training opportunity, however, for me, the damage was done.
