This is the new go-to Aldi in Falls Church. Love Aldi. This one has much better parking if you have gait issues. The parking lot has access to the store from two sides. There are also two exit/entrance sides. Both Aldi stores have usu great Aldi prices, nice fruits and vegetables, meats. This Aldi has more selection also it seems. [The other Falls Church location may be closer and more convenient, but it just doesn't work well otherwise. Parking lot -- and the slots by the door newly blocked for pick-up -- is just too cumbersome to use for older folks.] read more

I was eager to visit this Aldi location, but I was ultimately underwhelmed. The produce looked meh, the shelves were somewhat disorganized, and the selection was nothing special. I know that Aldi is known for its dupes of major-label products, but nothing really jumped out at me. The center aisle with random household goods felt like leftovers from a dollar store--although I went home with some cute puzzles, which was nice. Basically this Aldi was fine. I'd stop in if I really needed something in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to shop here. read more

Excellent attention from the people who work here, specially Marwa. I don't find tomatoes, I didn't find lays chips, I didn't find coka cola, "harina pan" (corn flour), cilantro, There is no variety of gelatin flavors, always strawberry and orange. The bathrooms were dirty, the fruits that were there were fresh. read more

My husband and I recently started shopping at Aldi's in 2020 and haven't looked back! It's now my go to place for chocolate, wine, meat, and some pretty delicious Aldi Finds. One of the best Aldi stores in the area. Clean, well stocked. Easy to get in and out. Ample parking. I shop here every day. Recommend.

The first Aldi that I've been to that deseves 5 stars. Located in lovely NOvA. Parking is ample. The store looks clean and well stocked. You can tell as you walk in. Now this was not my first visit. However I stumbled here when I was visiting Bakeshop a while ago. I love how items were fully stocked on a busy Saturday afternoon. And employees here were friendly. The produce section was actually decent! I found a lot of gluten free products in stock. That's a plus because I have friends that come over my place and now I can actually have some tasty snacks when they visit. The meats are good and well stocked. They had a good selection of plant based foods. Their plant based burgers are really good. Another plus they got wine!!! AND good selection of cheeses for your charcuterie boards:) and tasty deli meats. Checking out was not a nightmare like most ALDIS. Cashier got me out fast. If im in the FALLS Church area again, I'll definitely return. read more

$2 Pumpkins Y'all! It does not get any better than that. I'm the type of person who considers a trip to the grocery store a vacation, so I kind of think of this spot as my personal little Ocean City. It's not luxurious by any means, but you get everything you need in a short amount of time and with little money. Aldi is quite utilatarian and does not have the same friendly face as it's more popular cousin Trader Joe's but you know what, different strokes for different folks. They have amazing prices and my favorite aisle in the middle often plays host to a plethora of fun surprises like children's toys, cleaning products you never thought you need, holiday decorations and more. I'm a fan! (Just remember to bring your own shopping bags or a quarter for a cart). read more

8/25/20 This new Aldi's has been here for several months, but today is the first time I have even seen this section of this shopping center. I am writing this review at 2:46 in the morning, because I can't sleep. Annoying mosquito got into the house and my mind and body won't rest until I've killed it, but I digress. This store is very clean and organized from what I saw. The place was having a high peak of customers checking out when I was there and three cashiers were doing their thing to move the lines along. Maybe it's just me, but I noticed a lot of the associates have the friendly, but not to friendly demeanor. Think of it as a fake smile with something hidden underneath. There is horror game where everyone is smiling, but if you don't smile or act like everyone else you become a threat...but I digress....I don't remember the name of this game, but I digress again... Still this place is very cool and now I have three Aldi's to choose from close to my home in Falls Church. Prices at Aldi's are very give Lidi a run for its money. read more

Concerned about the welfare of cashiers and staff at Aldi in general, especially since the self checkout lanes were added. Telephone clangs in ear of sole human manning the checkout lane and frankly the atmosphere and pace are frantic. More than one cashier has let on under their breath that "no one cares" meaning management. Business model appears to favor loading more and more labor (also emotional) onto these cashiers. Obvious that that the Amazon model of quotas and quickly replacing whoever can't keep up is exploitative at its core. Honestly, this is heartbreaking. Wondering if Lidl is the same. A photo of one of the heirs sitting front row at a fashion show tells me that shopping at their own store is not uppermost in their mind. How long will this business model continue to exist? read more

I don't think anyone likes grocery shopping but Aldi does the job for a grocery store. The stores are smaller so you're in and out faster, prices are excellent, and the quality is as good or better than the usual big name stores. Their "store brand" stuff is pretty much always as good as the "brand name" for a much better price. They won't have random, obscure items here but they do the job for everyday shopping trips and they have cheap wine and beer that's worth a try. One thing they're missing is a deli but maybe they'll add that eventually? Bring a quarter for the shopping cart (you get it back when you return it) and check this place out. One random thing is they don't have plastic bags so either bring your own bags or they sell resuable bags there. This is the closest Aldi so me so it will be my store, hopefully the parking lot doesn't get too packed since there's a lot of businesses in a not too huge parking area. read more

First of all, if you understand what to expect here, you'll be pleased. If you come shopping for a specific recipe's ingredients, you may not find them all here. Likewise you won't find a huge meat, frozen food/dairy selection and really no deli area. But you'll find many of your staples here at unbelievable prices. Whole wheat sandwich bread loaf- $1.55 ($4-5 everywhere else); pint of strawberries $1.50 ($4 at other stores); avocados a dollar each...pretty much all the produce was much cheaper than typical stores. Cage free eggs were the price of regular eggs at other stores. Definitely will be shopping here more often. read more

This store is understaffed and difficult to shop at. Also, the product guarantee is not what you think. I had sliced cheese go bad well before the date. I took it back, they only gave me 80% of the value because I didn't have the receipt, it was the store brand, there is no where else I could have bought it. The policy on the website states "*Please note that a receipt is required to receive a refund in the original form of payment. Customers who do not provide a receipt will receive an ALDI Merchandise Credit gift card equal to the current retail price of the returned item." The other problem was they issued a store credit but never told me I HAD to use the store credit at the one register that actually has a human working the register. I only found this out after I ran up all of my groceries at a self checkout register. Unfortunately the line with the human was super long because its the only register that takes cash. read more

I live across the street from this particular location so I got to see the construction from start to finish. The store looks awesome--they did a great job sprucing it up from the former grocery store and adding much needed natural light and a new exterior. Nice work! If you haven't been to an Aldi there are some key things you need to know: 1) If you want a shopping cart you need a quarter (I know--like actual IRL money...so weird). You put the quarter in the shopping cart to unlock it and then when you return the cart you get the quarter back. 2) BYOB--Bring your own bag. Aldi doesn't provide plastic or paper bagging options. Period. The cashier also do not bag for you even if you bring your own bag. If you forget to bring a bag you can purchase them at the register. If you are shopping with a cart you load your items onto the belt and the cashier puts them in a new cart for you. Then you take the new cart to the bagging station (you don't bag at the cash register) so you can bag at your leisure. Aldi is great for some items: meats, cheese, SOME produce, and they have their own brand replica of most name-brand goods. The packaging is even the same--just with Aldi brand instead of the name brand. So far the Aldi products we've tried are certainly comparable to the name brand. They are a small store and don't carry everything so you'll probably be making a second stop at a larger chain if you have a large grocery list (e.g., I recently couldn't find basil or whole zucchini). Now that we're used to the cart/bagging process we look forward to our Aldi trips. It's certainly much cheaper than other stores and I love that they keep costs down and are environmentally friendly to boot. read more

My wife and I absolutely love ALDI. This new store is much larger than the Arlington Blvd location which is great when the store is busy. The item selection is consistent with other stores, but I am curious if the prices are slightly higher here given the location. Great selection of organic foods and some unique German cuisine finds as well. Helpful Notes: For those unfamiliar with ALDI, carts require a quarter, but you get it back when you leave. This ensures that carts get returned and ALDI can keep costs low by not needing people to chase them through the parking lot. Though admittedly I do find it amusing that people fuss over this and often leave. You also need to bring your own bags or you can buy them on your way out for 15 cents. Some of the store employees we recognized from the other store and they are very well staffed. We went on the grand opening and we only waited in line a few minutes. The second time we went there was no wait which is much better than other stores. ALDI is our go-to for weekly groceries. On average we save around $100/week by shopping here than at the other large chains. read more

It's gotten better. This is actually my go to store because it has great prices. you will save a lot. the produce (mostly fruit) is still a hit or miss - it seems to go bad very fast if not already bad when you open/slice it. about 75% of mangos i bought have hairlike black fibers inside- altho looks normal on outside. Anyway, minus some of their fruit, I buy most everything else here,then go to another store to supplement. they are affiliated with trader joe's so I do see some similar products (but packaged differently). the checkout lines go super fast. make sure to bring your own bags! no more quarters required (at least for now). read more

I have traveled all over the world and experienced some very strange things in my lifetime. However, I have never seen anything as absurd as being charged $.25 to use a grocery cart at a supermarket. How absolutely ridiculous. Is ALDI seriously that greedy and starving for money that they need to exploit consumers to use a shopping cart? Why should I have to pay for a shopping cart when I am going to spend money on more products than I can carry? From now on, I would rather drive out of my way and spend money on gas to purchase items from a different grocery store. I highly recommend others do the same, even if this particular store is more geographically convenient. This place seriously needs to get a clue about basic services. read more

Aldi has its limitations, but also strengths. Their pricing is steadily increasing on "strategic" food items and they're adding more non-food impulse items for greater profits. Also, try different locations as their pricing adjusts to the income demographics of the store's market area. Falls Church City is higher priced than the Merrifield store on many items. read more

I have been impressed with the pricing. The short cuts they use to cut cost don't bother me. ([ike no free bags, "renting " the shopping cart, etc). I am retired and can go to the Adli to buy the basics at a good price, while shopping at the local Harris Teeter for the other stuff. Produce is well priced and good quality, although sometimes things like letture are loss leaders at my local grocery store and therefore cheaper. Mixed frozen fruits that I use in smothies are often a very good buy, although sometimes they don't have them in stock. read more
