Four solid stars for what Aldi is... not what it lacks. As a supermarket, Aldi is certainly narrowcasted relying on high volume SKU's, meaning if you love chicken noodle soup, you have a few cases to peruse... if you're looking for split pea, keep on truckin' to ShopRite. A move that makes sense if you're not entirely comfortable with "Hunky" brand soup. Off-brand alliteration is certainly a requirement here... grab me a box of "Plucky Charms." For staples like milk produce and chopped meat is where they shine offering a decent to wide selection without securing a second mortgage. Aldi ain't bad and that's from someone who very intensely prejudged the experience. read more

Came here to specifically look for one thing, which I completely forgot to get. Everyone says the prices are cheaper, some things are but if you want name brand, this isn't the place. Limited brand name items. I did get a few things that I really didn't need but couldn't resist. For me, this store is hit or miss. I would go back because of some unique finds. Only one cashier but she moved pretty quickly and was friendly. read more

so I've been at this location several times before covd and even after. why 3 stars well...altho the store is larger and things are set up with a better flow, they don't always if at all have the "constant aldi staples.' When I'm in this area I usually stop in for a few aldi staple items so I dont have to stop in my area on way home, but I always end up having to go to my normal location bc they don't always have the normal stock staples. its usually the simple things I'm looking for. I will give them the store is always neat and clean. It's frustrating when you think "oh i can stop here and get this, this and that so I dont have to stop on way home" nope. sorry im sticking with my favorite location, which I never have to worry about them being out of normal aldis staples. yayy. read more

After many people kept telling me to check out Aldi, I finally found some time to go and boy, am I glad I did. I absolutley love this place. Especially if you are shopping for a party, this place is so many junk food options. I also recommend the coffee creamer... for $1.89, you can't beat that price! They also have vegan options as well, like Asian veggie burger and thai veggie burger. I'm excited to try both. They also have produce and meats, just like a regular supermarket. Since things are cheaper and some things aren't. They also have a junk aisle, where you can find various items from dog beds to oven accessories to seasonal stuff. read more

Compared to other supermarkets these days, this store is tiny. I can't do my weekly shopping here because the inventory is so limited. To me, this type of store is good for impulse shopping only. It's a German owned company (lots of Aldis in Europe), and as such I was hoping to find some of the snacks that I enjoyed in Europe. I bought a few chocolate bars and chocolate wafer snacks. Unfortunately, these brands were different from the ones I had in Europe and they tasted worse than American chocolate. I also looked for Hunky Dory chips, which we really liked in Ireland, but the chips selection is really limited. The shelves were stocked with Clancy chips and not much more. I read somewhere that Clancy is the Aldi store brand. Just quickly browsing through the produce section, nothing really wowed me. I was looking for strawberries and noticed their prices were about the same as a regular supermarket. read more

i have been told for sometime to check aldi out because the pricing was unbeatable. prewarned that the inventory isn't always the same and it's best for certain items over others. but the past few weeks i have grocery shopping at aldi and the amount of food i am able to get on a budget is really life saving right now. the ground beef, steak, bacon and breakfast sausage have all been great quality. i am very happy to still be able to grab some skirt steak and not worry about the pricing or poor quality of meat. i have never purchased raw chicken products from aldi but the frozen chicken i have purchased is very good ! i personally wish the fruit selection was bigger but i can always find a few items i enjoy. aldi has great snacks i never heard of and it isn't all MSG GMO crap. they have healthy options for a budget trip. read more

I first was never crazy about this supermarket. I always found it quite unnecessary since we have so many supermarkets in East Brunswick/ However, this place is definitely different than others. This place is cheap af, the staff is friendly, and will always greet you. The store is not crowded, and it's small, making you not want to do a huge shopping. It's not super clean, and some of the foods int he store feel smoshed together. I saw a few cereal boxes, that had the top very low, and a little bit opened. They don't sell bags, you have to bring your own. The store is trying to save the environment. Overall, great store at great low prices. read more

Very little selection of product but all product in the store is incredibly well priced, unlike a Walmart they don't Overstock product which forces them to throw it out which makes their prices higher read more

There was one cashier today. She was really fast. When she got to me I had a bag and 5 items. I told her I had a bag as she put some stuff in the top of the cart. She then proceeded to put the next customer's order in the same cart and I told her that's not my stuff. She said you don't have a cart. Well I grabbed the stuff on the top and when I got home I was missing two items. Guess the woman after me got the stuff I paid for. I went online and found a 610 number that it said it was for East Brunswick and the recording said they were closed. Never again will I step foot in this store. Big RIP OFF. read more

ALDI USA is an offshoot of a German company that specializes in store brand items for families on a budget. I use ALDI's in order to stock the concession stand at my church. I can buy an entire night's food for less than $60! read more

Love it. Wish you carried snapple tho. Store is clean. Staff is friendly and efficient. Cashiers are quick and well trained at their job. In EB some people clearly having lots of time to shop and block aisles. Never will see that in New Bruns. This location has a nice produce and meat dept. Some aisles are set up kinda weird. Like some spices in 1 aisle and more in another aisle. Would be more efficient to hv all in same row along w sugar and all the cooking oils imo read more

This was my first time at an Aldis and it was a weird experience. To begin I had to.search high and low for a quarter to get a cart. Then a lady told me it's like costco and you need your own bags. The only really great price was the eggs at 69 cents. Prices were okay but I don't think I will change over from my other supermarket. It doesn't seem like a fit for East Brunswick, NJ. This is just my opinion and others may feel different. read more

The store is good. Have to be careful of produce, and some refrigerated stuff it's bad. Like stale. So those thing I don't buy there. Just cause it's cheep does not mean it's good for you to eat. Be very careful. read more

I'm writing this just to keep customers aware. I visit this store often, normally I'm satisfied. But today something odd happened with a cashier today. As he was ringing up my order I had maybe 18 items all packaged with bar codes. I noticed cashier entering a bunch of codes over and over but not ringing my items up I read the register screen it stated charge then credit then charge. When he completed my order the total balance was higher than I expected. After paying I examined my receipt there was a charge for a Fit Watch, which I did not buy, there was no watch with my items, no watch by the cashier either. So, he was ringing next customer I told him there was a charge for a watch I did not purchase on receipt. Right away he got nervous and said oh I'll help you in one second. He helped two more customers then left his register, with people waiting, then came back with a watch rang it up then called manager over for key she did not question anything then he keyed in something else then called manager for key again then supposedly credited my credit card back. All this time not even looking at my receipt, I could have been lying for all he knew, even the manager didn't even question what he needed key for. I have since check my account no credit. So my advice to everyone is check your receipts, this seemed like a scam to me. I have since notified corporate office and if my credit not there by tomorrow going back to store to speak to manager. But beware of tricks like this, my husbands says they do this to unsuspecting customers and at the end of day they steal the merchandise or the money from till at end of their shift. read more
