I love going to Aldi even though I usually have to go to another store for everything on my list. If you need appetizers or snack foods, check the back wall. Great selection of dips and cheeses. The crackers are the cheapest in town. Be sure and check out the chocolates! Delicious and inexpensive. And you never know what surprises await you on the "Aldi finds" aisle!!! read more

So, in honesty, I didn't really know anything about Aldi. I jokingly referred to it a as glorified Seven-11. I briefly was in the one in Lewisville but did not wander it. The Denton location opened up a short time ago and with coaxing from someone I work with I ventured in. She mentioned how inexpensive the produce was, so that was my target area..... yeah, I wish I had stuck to that, because $40 later I had purchased quite a bit more. The produce was right on the money. $.49 for mangoes, $.99 for strawberries($1.99 at Target), Ten cents for a lime! Some things you couldn't get solo like tomatoes, zucchini or onions, so I chose not to get onions and zucchini. The Roma tomatoes looked a little off color so I went with tomatoes on the vine and didn't spend alot. Meat was cheap (skirt steak barely over $5) cold cuts, garlic hummas! YUM. Milk is reasonable as well, but not whole milk options in half gallons. All and all, a great little spot and I can see how you can save money here over Target, Kroger or Wallyworld. I usually love this store but my experience this morning has me almost in tears. The guy who rung me up treated me like I was less than human...I don't know if it's because I'm overweight, because I was using the electric cart for medical problems that are none of anybody's business, or cause I asked for his assistance locating mushrooms, probably all the above! He looked at me like I was trash on the side of the road! He miserably rung up my 4 small items, told me the price, saw I was paying with a card and walked away. He didn't even bother to hand me my receipt and my 4 items or try putting my items in the Electric cart. So rude! I had to hold back tears when I drove home. I'm not going back for a very, very long time if ever. read more

The girl with short hair and glasses who rang me on March 31st, 2023, around 6 pm, was rude. I was cramping badly, and she was cleaning, so she was not near the register. Then she gave me an attitude it's the one with the light. Also, I had stuff in my bag. She encouraged me to take it out and threw my stuff out hard. Overall she was rude and gave me dirty looks. I was in pain that night because I was cramping, and I wanted to go home fast because I was nauseous, but she was going slow and giving me an attitude. read more

My girlfriend loves this place. I've only been inside one time and honestly don't know much about them. But based solely on my girlfriend's word, I'd say they're a pretty good place to shop. Apparently they have good deals as well as a good selection. Possibly will raise this review score once I go inside a few more times. read more

Located off Loop 288 with a slightly small parking lot but it doesn't get as crowded as the Kroger's do. If you want to use a shopping cart you 'unlock' it from the chain by sticking in a quarter. When you return the cart and hook the chain back up it spits your quarter back out so you aren't really paying for it, it's a measure to ensure you don't leave the carts in the parking lot. They are open daily from 9am-9pm. They do not accept credit cards, they do accept debit. They do not provide bags, you have to pay for them. The plastic ones are twice the size and thickness of a normal grocery store and are 6 cents, the paper bags are average I think and I believe are 10 cents. We only come on the weekends, typically late morning, and I have only seen 2 lanes open at a time. They move you through pretty quickly because, being so cheap, they are not slowing down with coupons and the like. You also do your own bagging, the cashier checks your item into a cart that you take over to the tables along the wall and bag yourself. This place is a good deal, very cheap prices on foods. They are mostly generic brands so if you are picky that might bother you but my husband and I have shopped here often for a year and some of the chips and cereals and things taste better than name brands. I can't recall anything that we didn't like except I personally don't care for their creamer. I believe that is because I am slightly addicted to Hazelnut CoffeMate. All the dairy is Happy Farms and their milk and cheese has consistently been good. The prices are really low. I was on the canned foods/boxed pasta/ramen aisle last time and realized I was certain that they were cheaper than Albertsons, Kroger and Walmart for sure and though I am less positive, pretty sure it was cheaper than Winco as well. I don't often have enough prices memorized to be sure so I was pretty impressed. For food items they have a great selection, perhaps not a wide variety of brands but they have bread, produce, dairy, coffee, snacks, cereal, canned foods etc. The point is they have all the food groups for good prices but instead of choosing from 6-8 brands of tortilla chips, you are choosing from 1 or maybe 2 if it's a flavor difference. The frozen food section is pretty small but you can get the basics. I am very pleased that they have dog food and treats made in the USA, the brand is Shep. My dogs liked the bacon treats and the dog bones. I didn't get the food because I didn't feel like lifting the heavy bag- lazy! You can't find made in the USA dog food/treats at Kroger or Walmart. They also have a lot of promotional items on the second aisle. Cool stuff like giant, sturdy totes for $10, good quality desk chair for $40, cushy bath mat for $8. If you see something on this aisle that you like you better get it because they will probably be out the next time you go. Unlike food items this stuff isn't stocked all the time and when they sell out they put in new promotional items. That tote was awesome! We came back 6 days later to get 2 more and they were gone! Once they come on promotion again, we plan to clean them out! :) So we have established the food variety is a small selection but this is also not a one stop shop. They have all non food and non promotional items on one small aisle and on that aisle you will find toilet paper, laundry detergent, baby wipes, shampoo, soap, aspirin, paper plates and plastic ware, paper towels all in one spot with very limited options. I think they have maybe 3 types of medicine but don't quote me on that, that's just what I noticed on one visit. So not ideal for the trips when you want to stock up on everything, not just groceries. For example, they only carry Willow brand toilet paper which I mistook for Charmin and is as thin and papery as Scott. I decided a long time ago that no matter how bad things got, you will never be too poor to have good toilet paper. Charmin is my jam and I get my toilet paper, advil, Tums, Dove shampoo, etc elsewhere. That's cool though because they are a really cheap grocery store that we purposely save certain items on our list specifically to come here. I highly recommend you check them out. They are great for a quick grocery run or even food for the week but not for the all inclusive trip where you need to stock up on a bunch of non food items. You will leave with a lot more bags for a lot less money than anywhere else you go. read more

I am very, very excited to have an Aldi in town. Having been to a few in Irving, I knew the rules. Bring a quarter for a cart, bring your own bags, and I didn't even realize the check policy was an issue. I have never carried a checkbook in my life, and I would say 99% of the people I know always have their debit card or cash on them. So, I guess there's that. The trick to Aldi is knowing how to shop - the frozen stuff is amazing (try the Southern Style chicken patties and the sweet potato casserole), I've never been disappointed with anything I've gotten. The dairy/cheese section is all tasty and worth it for the low price, and their crackers & cereal are all fine. I rarely buy produce, it's all a little ragged looking - but I'm not going to knock them for it. read more

I have no problem with the idea of a tiny warehouse-style store, which is what the Aldi is. You have a couple of aisles with boxes of food stacked high. I also don't mind that there isn't much of a selection. They save money by not stocking items that will sit on the shelves and go bad. I am even willing to bag my own groceries. (That being said, I liked the Fresh and Easy model, where you rang up your own groceries.) I do have a problem with stores hiding pertinent policies on their fliers. For instance, why did they decide to to use 5 pt white type to state that they only accept cash, debit or EBT? If you're going to try to get new shoppers, and you're deviating from the norm, you need to be up front about the policy. Some of us don't carry debit cards or cash on a regular basis. They made a special exception for me to use a check, since I was ready to just walk out without the food. (I think they didn't want to have to put the items back, not that they were trying to be apologetic for the lack of clarity.) I also have a problem with leaving moldy fruit packs visible. Ech. There were too many staffers there today for that to be happening. 99 cent strawberries are great, but not if they have mold juice on them. And you also need to know to bring a quarter, otherwise you won't be able to use a cart. (You have to stick a quarter into a slot on the cart, and if you return the cart to the right place, you get your quarter back.) If you don't want to alienate new customers, you really should let people know of these quirks ahead of time...even if your policies are rational. read more

I shopped at Aldi for the first time this week. And I am glad I did. Luckily, I did know the rules before going in - bring a quarter for the cart and my own shopping bags. I heard Aldi was cheap, but I didn't realize how cheap! Almost everything is a generic brand, but as a mom of 3 and a student, I typically buy generic anyway. They don't have everything a normal grocery store would, but they do have the basics. Cereal and snacks are very inexpensive and so far, I have been impressed with the quality! Some of the produce is just okay, but some of it is the same exact produce sold at Wal-Mart - only cheaper. Baby bella mushrooms were $.69 this week! But I think what really sold me was the milk, butter and egg prices. I cook mostly from scratch and I use a lot of these ingredients. Milk is $1.69 a gallon (1.10 savings), butter is $1.69 for a lb (1.30 savings) and eggs are .79 a dozen (about an .80 savings). I will definitely be returning. read more

All the lights are on, the signs are lit, but your tiny hours sign is so small and dark that I can't read it, even though I'm close enough that my car is triggering the first door, I can't read it. The only negative comment I have is, unfriendly checkers. I realize the job is mostly thankless. But, if you don't enjoy your job, find something where you can be happy. As A customer service person, I can tell you that you represent your company. Your customers are paying your salary. Be thankful you have an opportunity to work in air conditioning, especially in Texas. There are many stores completing for business such as Aldi. Winco and Wal Mart are pricing items as low as yours. Maybe Corp should send a rep to check out employee customer service. A training class might be beneficial as well. read more

I absolutely LOVE Aldi's . . . it's my new 'go to' store for everything they carry. I've gotten some great tools there (kitchen and home-repair), as well as incredible prices on some great-tasting wines. The produce is generally in great shape and has great prices. If you want to save some serious money, this is the place to shop. read more

Aldi is what it is. Basic goods, fast stock rotation through quick sale, and very cheap as a result. Almost everything is their own brand. I love the place. I'd love to give them five stars, but there's always a thing or two that I have to go somewhere else for. As for basics though, it doesn't get any better. Great pices on milk, eggs, bananas, and frequently avocados. I go there for most of my basic shopping these days, and make an occasional stop elsewhere for a couple things. Aldi's is awesome! The staff are helpful and friendly most days. Their produce is great and their products are high quality at reasonable prices. They initially didn't have many kosher products and after my mother in law asked them to add some (I'm sure others did as well) they have added more and more. Which means we'll keep spending more and more money at Aldi's instead of Walmart. read more

They have some good sale prices but seem to almost always run out of their advertised specials, at least in meat, before I can get there. They occasionally have some good seasonal items but they are usually gone quickly. If you see something you like, you better get it when you see it or it likely won't be there the next time. I like some of their food products but don't like driving down there for an ad special to find out they are out, won't issue a rain check and to be told I should have come in the first day of the sale if I really wanted it. Living 25 miles away, that isn't practical so I may cut down on my visits. Selection is very limited, particularly on name brands. read more

My wife was excited to finally check out the Denton location and it was not bad at all. Prices were great! The interior was inviting and stimulating. The only con I was able to find was just that there were HUGE lines. But that's probably only because it's new. Great deals, and a wide variety of foods were sold. Great flavor from the fruits as well as their chips. And since they actually gave us some bags, we'll definitely be back! read more

Very rude clerks. NO manager on duty, only two young hispanic women on two registers talking to each other, not paying much attention to customers. They heard me telling to my friend that "hello" and "have a good day" is apparently not provided in Aldi along with the absence of plastic bags, which made them laugh behind our backs. -- ??? I can't say enough about this supermarket chain. I have read various reviews that put this store in a bad light, but I must strongly disagree. I have been shopping at this location for over a year and have yet had a bad thing to say about the store, the staff, or the products. Yes, they do not accept credit cards, nor do they provide the customer with grocery bags, but this is merely another way of saving the shopper added costs on their products. To me this makes a lot of sense. On various occasions I have emailed their customer service requesting particular items and only a few weeks later or sooner I have been happily surprised to find that this item has been ordered! I just can say enough good things about this store. The cashiers, in my experience, for the most part have always greeted me with a smile and always asked if I have found everything I have needed. They are eager to help and assist in finding an item or items. Aldi is the store for me. One set back, however, and it isn't a major disaster is that their organic produce in the refrigerator section of the store is quickly depleted. Hopefully this will be corrected.
