Aldi makes me feel very strange. It's a bizarro grocery store. The items on the shelves look like one thing, but they're actually another. Does this sound confusing? Let me explain with an example: I saw a box of white cake on the shelves. On first glance, looked like it was Pillsbury brand. The box was the signature Pillsbury blue, the font was Pillsbury-esque, the images were arranged to look like they would on a Pillsbury box. But a closer look revealed that it was not Pillsbury. It was an Aldi (or maybe another generic?) brand made to look like Pillsbury. Now, I never buy Pillsbury, because I prefer to make my cakes from scratch. But it bothered me a lot that Aldi was trying to trick me into buying something based on a quick glance. Why go through the trouble of trying to make your food look like other kinds of food? It's just very unsettling. Like other people have said, this is a no-frills store. The shelves are made out of cardboard boxes, in most cases. There's no music. The store is dimly lit. You have to pay for a shopping cart. It's rather dreary, to be honest. I've been to Aldi twice: once to check it out, and another time a few years later to see if it had changed from my first experience. Nope. It's still strange and depressing. I think people like Aldi because of the prices, but in my opinion, the price difference between Aldi and, say, Kroger, is negligible, especially when you take into account sale prices at other stores.

If you haven't been to Aldi, you don't know what you're missing. They have a such a great selection of grocery items, including beer and wine, fresh produce, cheeses, fresh meats, baked goods and everything in between. You can also find non-grocery items here and the selection changes regularly. Right now, they had a bunch of outdoor living things including a canopy for over a grill. It's fun to go in regularly, just to see what new things they have. And the prices! Oh my. Where else can you get a 12 ounce package of sea scallops the size of silver dollars for $9.99. OK, they are frozen, but still. I've seen eggs for as low as $0.29 before. They are at $0.69 right now, but you never know when the price will drop back down again (not that $0.69 isn't a good deal in itself). The quality of the products is good including the fresh produce and fresh meats. I loved the feel of this location with spacious aisles and fresh market-style signage. If you have money to burn, this isn't your place. But if you like to stretch your dollar, save money and still enjoy good products....welcome to Aldi!

They have strawberries, red raspberries, asparagus, pumpkins, grapes and sunflowers, depending on the time of the year. They are very active on social media, so they keep followers up-to-date on the status of their crops and seasons. They have a shop where you will find pre-picked crops, fudge, ice cream, pies, muffin and bread mixes, peanut butters, snack mix, jams/preserves, popcorn, aprons and sauces. In addition to the crop that you could also pick your self, they have seasonal items that they bring in that include tomatoes, black raspberries, and peaches. It is a neat little shop and the staff is very friendly. You will find rockers and a table and chairs in the front of the shop and some tables and chairs on the side, where you can sit and eat. There is a winery in the front of the farm's grounds, but I did not check it out. I was on a mission to get some black raspberries. I also ended of getting a slice of the berry pie, which was delicious. I highly recommend getting some of their pies. You will not regret it. The black raspberries were ok. They were a little bitter than what I was expecting and as compared to the red variety. Now if you are expecting super low prices because you are buying direct, I found that shopping here was not the case. You are getting freshness though and if you do pick your own, that is a cool experience as well. This is a neat little farm located near Westfield, about 35 minutes outside of the city.

Sandwiches are only $8 and for $2 more select a gourmet side and drink. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I ordered a tuna sandwich with marinated Greek salad and ice tea. The sandwich was prepared quickly and the multigrain bread was fresh and nutty. The Greek salad was a meal in itself! Soooo good! The salad had paper thin noodles in a vinegar seasoning that was tangy and delicious. My husband had the roast beef sandwich, which was packed with meat and cheese. He loved it. A staff member checked on us to see if we needed anything while we were eating. There is plenty of seating and patio seating as well. The space is shared with Slapfish. I think parking can get tight during peak hours, but there were not many people during Saturday lunchtime. The market also sells fresh veggies, staples and locally made products. This deli is a slam dunk in my book. I'll be back.

I was very impressed with the ambiance of the grocery store because it was easy to navigate around the store, and it was very upscale and nice decor. The Fresh Market is about as pricey as Whole Foods Market, so if you are on a budget then I would watch how much you spend at this store. However, the products are high quality and organic, and of course, very fresh, so you are getting your money's worth when you shop at The Fresh Market. The service is wonderful and professional. Every one I encountered at The Fresh Market smiled at me and was very helpful. The cashier who checked me out was excellent and had a great sense of humor, so she kept me laughing and made me smile as well. I love the products at The Fresh Market and I like the fact that I am paying for high quality and fresh all natural products. Yes, it is pricey and can be expensive if you shop here on a regular basis, but you are getting the best quality products for your buck. The service is wonderful and the ambiance is terrific, so all in all, The Fresh Market is the best grocery store to shop for your organic, natural products needs. It has everything you want in a grocery store!
