They vary from store to store. The staff here is friendly. This location is convenient to get to. The parking lot is busy so be cautious! The prices are comparable and reasonable. Nothing is worse than spending hundred of dollars on groceries especially on food and snacks you really don't need, but want because it's there. ALDI has always been my place to shop for cheap affordable groceries without spending too much money. The store can be crowded on some days and checking out can be a pain if there's a long line, but the cashiers move very quickly since they don't have to bag up your groceries. read more

I guess that I have a love/hate relationship with Aldi. The fact that they usually only have one person on checkout, they offer no bags, they don't even have a landline that you can call to ask a question about is often infuriating. However, they do have some decent deals. I kind of compare Aldi to something akin to the Big Lots of supermarkets. They will offer you carry similar products with off-brand names of more familiar items and usually offer it at a discounted price. I will say that their bread is very good price and for what you are paying, it is very good quality. The produce is also a pretty good for the price and you can find some decent deals. All in all, this particular Aldi location is a decent enough store to stop at. Of course, there are those infuriating things that I mentioned above. However, if the parking lot is not looking too full, give them a shot. You might find yourself in the same kind of love/hate relationship that I am with Aldi. read more

The first few times I came here, I was very pleased with everything inside the store from the staff to all the products I've purchased here. A dozen eggs for $0.49 seems to be the regular price I've seen here. Crazy! I suggest you stock up! On my last trip, there was a discrepancy in pricing. The ad said brussel sprouts were $1.99 a bag, but there were two areas of signage stating they were $0.99 a bag. I grabbed two bags and kept them in the top part of my cart so I could ask the cashier before I bought them. Sure enough they were $1.99 a bag so I didn't buy them. My mom encountered the same exact problem at the Homewood Aldi where store signage didn't match the newspaper advertised price. She ended up paying the full price cause she wasn't on top of it like I was. Don't ever be afraid to ask the cashier! The main inconvenience here and tip I'm going to give you is about parking. The store's parking lot seems to be sloping downward. I always try to park far away from everyone else. I don't want shopping carts hitting my car, but my own cart seems to be the problem. It seems wherever I park, my cart wants to run away from me. It makes it super difficult unloading my groceries at the end of my shopping trip. Even if you're parked at a space that seems level, it's enough for your cart to run away. I had to use one foot to hold my cart down the entire I unloaded groceries last week. Find the MOST level area you can here to park. You will know exactly what I'm talking about if you don't....Not fun lol. read more

Trussville has a new and updated Aldis!! To be honest, I was super disappointed that Fresh Market pulled out of this location last year, but we were in the neighborhood, and decided to stop by and check things out on a Sunday after church. The place was PACKED!! My mistake was getting a buggy...I filled it up! I've learned if I want to keep to my purchases down, I shouldn't get a buggy, because I'm bound to fill it with items (that I may or may not need)! There were several areas that were empty (wine and frozen section mostly), but I don't know if that was because of running out or not being stocked fully. They only had two lines when we were ready to check out, but then the manager opened up another line to help people get out faster. This location is def. an upgrade from the other Trussville location, so make sure you check it out! read more

I'm a huge Aldi fan, and have always loved the convenience of this location since it's just down the road from home. However, the service here has significantly declined. Poor attitude, lack of enthusiasm, long faces, lack of general kindness has been disheartening. I loved the fast pace grocery scanning, but even that has declined. Cashier today let her attitude have the best of her and as she tossed my bag of tomatoes to the cart, the all went rolling out all over the cart and 2 in the floor. No apology for the lack of care. I have my 2 year old in the front of the cart, I attempt to use my own buggy to avoid swapping the toddler to a different cart, she insisted on loading my groceries to a different one after my request to use my cart I already had. Then proceeded to fill the front of the cart with veggies as if I didn't need to move my child to the next cart. Just the entire lack of competence, customer service, and overall lack of professionalism has led me to just use Winn Dixie down the street. I hope to see Trussville continue to thrive, but this starts with having good attitudes in our local businesses. read more

Very happy with this new Aldi's location. It moved from the other side of Trussville to this location. It is an updated, more modern looking Aldis. It has a huge selection on the inside. We always end up finding new things to try when we come here. Now you may not always be able to find everything on your shopping list, which is the drawback, but there is always a good selection of produce, meats, frozen goods, etc During COVID, they have stopped the paying for buggies on the outside, which helps. They also had social distancing implemented as best they could. read more

I love Aldi! My family has shopped there since i can remember and now I get groceries for my household there. The staff is friendly and quick at ringing up sales too! I deducted one star for a few reasons: 1. Their prices have steadily been increasing lately (understandable), but a lot of the items they carry can be found elsewhere for cheaper. 2. The Aisle of Shame seems to always be picked over. I can rarely find the weekly specials that are advertised, even when going first thing in the morning on their restock day. 3. Management does not mark down discounts on items the same way the rest of the nation does. I follow Aldi's social media pages and this location likes to keep items full price until they sell, while other locations have really good deals/discounted items posted. 4. Sometimes there are items on the shelves/freezer section that are missing price signs. This is frustrating because there are usually no workers around except up at the registers and you would have to wait in line for a price check. I hope management gets more diligent about ensuring all items have their matching price tags displayed. These reasons aren't enough to scare me away though. I will still continue to shop here and share my love for Aldi with others. Helpful tip: if you plan on shopping here, bring a quarter for the cart (you will get it back) and reusable bags. New shoppers might not know that Aldi utilizes these tactics to keep prices down. read more

Hey, Aldi. A few thoughts on your business model (now that I know it): I get that you don't bag people's groceries or provide free bags in order to lower cost. As I first-time customer, it would have been nice to know that *before* I checked out. Maybe you wanna let people know they have to buy bags before they actually pay for their groceries. Might be a good idea to train your cashiers to notice that there are no BYOB bags in the cart and then offer bags. It was extremely frustrating to check out and end up at the bagging counter with no bags... and then to see a loooong line with only one cashier, giving me the option to go get back in line and wait just to buy bags or to haul awkward bagless armloads of groceries into the house. Another possibility: make bags available from a pay dispenser after the point of sale. Or have more than one cashier. Lots of ways to fix this. I'm disappointed y'all didn't think of any of them before I arrived in your store. I won't be back. read more

11 minutes ago Employee stole goods while I was shopping and trying to get heavy things to the register. I and my husband revisited twice and the manager was snide and laughed in my face when ask if they had seen my items and took my number "in case I wanted it back if they found it." The their standing there with duper's delight all over her smug face. Poor customer service and sticky fingers with no Corp number to call and report the thieves. I will never shop at this location again. Despicable. read more
