It was a good spot for my dog. They had a large area for big dogs and another section for smaller dogs. Plenty of room to run around. Some shaded areas. And a hose to spray off when done. Highly recommend for dogs that love to run. read more

First dog. First experience at a dog park. This dog park was horrible. I have a puppy and so I had to take him to the small dog area. First and foremost - it was disqusting! I saw many poops on the ground and eventually did step in some which was so gross! Literally, cannot understand why people don't pick up after their pets when there are poop bags right there! Also, there are a lot of older people and their older dogs in the small dog area and that was also not a good expereince. One mans dog kept coming to beg me for my dogs treats and he did not attempt to contain his dog. I won't be going back to the this small dog area again. The large dog area seemed to have a good vibe and a lot of dogs there. I did not want to overwhelm my large breed puppy so I did not take him inside. However, of all the people I encoutered outside of the LD area, they seemed cool. I will be looking for other dog parks! Wish there was a different type of play area for dogs! read more

Came here for my son's baseball practice, not the actual dog park. Not sure why it doesn't show up as such on yelp, but it is part of the Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District. Anyway, parking lot is really small so you'll have to park on the street once it's filled. Not too far of a walk so not bad. There is only 1 bench that I can see from where I'm sitting, so bring a blanket or some chairs if you plan to be here a while. I'm not sure why there isn't more seating, but it is what it is. Nice ball park to practice at, but inconvenient that you have to bring your own chairs. Restrooms located by the parking lot, so it's convenient if you have littles with you. read more

So disappointed! We haven't been to Aldergate Dog Park for over two years and thought we'd bring our dog out to play today. This place is like a dog toilet ~ there is dog poop everywhere! The park provides bags, so I'm not sure what the issue is. I started picking some of it up but after 3 bags I was just grossed out. Also, I'm not sure who's in charge of maintenance but there are weeds all along the inside of the fence lines. Too bad, this used to be a fun little park. read more

First dog park I've been to since I moved out here. My dog had a blast. Everyone is very respectful and responsible making sure that all the dogs are supervised. My only small complaint is a lot of dog droppings not being picked up by owners. :( read more

One of the reviews wrote that there's only one bench at the park. When I went there was actually four so they must have added. There are however dog owners that go there don't pick up after their dogs. Did you like the fact that they have a lot of Lowe's buckets there for water for the dogs. I wish they would have a dog station that had poop bags and trash cans. We walked the whole enclosure and didn't see any. The people that go there with their dogs they were very friendly. read more

I was there yesterday from 3-4pm with. My black dog was having fun and being well behaved along with my girlfriends dog. Who was a white schnoodle. When between 345-4pm. My dog was violently attacked by two dogs one was on leash and the owner who was a female. She was roughly 5'5 to 5'7 average build, dark brown / black hair, wore glasses had a a blue sweat shirt with a zipper and camouflage work out pants and was unable to control her dogs. Her dog that was on the leash lunged forward then quickly attacked my dog from behind while the other was attacking my dog from the front The two dogs looked like they were a mix of German Shepard breed. Both were black and stood tall with a little bit of white/grey hair noticeable on their legs. Both of the dogs had a choke collar on weighed min 90-100bs. The woman who never apologized for her dogs attacking my dog quickly left the place so I was unable to get her info as I was checking to see if my dog was okay and had any marks or blood on them. I will upload photos so if anyone was there on Sat 2/08/2020 They can report this woman and her dogs to animal services. PLEASE BE ON ALERT IF YOU SEE THESE DOGS WHETHER IT's AT ALDERGATE DOGPARK OR ANYWHERE ELSE!!!! I had to go to the emergency vet for surgery and the bill was $1257!!! read more

This is a large, super nice dog park. There are two spaces. The first, is the big space, and it sits on the corner. It is recommended for larger dogs. It has shade and some grass. It sits in sort of a bowl. There are some trees. The second dog park, is over by the parking lot, and it is for small dogs under 30 pounds. I have gone to both. There are water fountains for the dogs and some chairs and benches there. I wish folks would watch their dogs more and pick up after them. Many do, but in the large field, people let their dogs go, and don't go pick up. The fences are good and high, and all in all a nice park for the four leggers. read more

Great dog park! Plenty of room to run and relax. A large variety of dog breeds are typically here. The water fountain makes for a muddy mess though. Once this gets resolved it will make for a better experience. read more

Been coming to this dog park since before it was a dogpark, when it was just a water basin without gates or official dog park designation, or had the areas divided. We lived across the street and it was a great place to take our dogs to romp, some of the other neighbors would join in and we all petitioned for this. Have been taking my dogs here over 10yrs, one entirely through her lifecycle from puppyhood through rainbow bridge. While there is always the possibility for an altercation with dogs, over the past decade, including a few that have gone after my own, overall the experiences are generally great with the people who regularly come. It has been maintained well considering it's beginnings and feel lucky to have this park! We moved out of the area several years and have returned just this past year with our new shepherd pup. She's the one with the big mouth because she's scared, but everyone's dogs and the people have been great the past few months we've been coming. We are happy to see Aldergate Dog Park still thriving! In terms of local, off-leash dog parks in the inland valley, this one provides the best use of space and with all the amenities in a natural park setting. A large, grassy field in the center lined with juvenile trees and a wood-chipped path makes for a nice walk for all involved. The area mentioned is for all sized dogs, smaller dogs are welcome as long as they play friendly and you are willing to take the risk with your under 30lbs pooch. There is also a separate smaller grassy park with shade and benches on the hill above for under 30lbs dogs. Benches, trash receptacles and poop-bags are abundant, and a water fountain is just inside the gated entrance. There is also an enclosed restroom Next to the parking lot. The area is clean, and seems to be maintained regularly. Hours are sunrise to sunset daily. My pup loves it here and we do too, lots of dogs come to play and many have responsible, friendly owners too. read more

This review is for the small dog park. It is really nice, but over the last several months has become, in my opinion, too small for the number of dogs that are now coming there. I have counted up to 27 dogs. The average at peak time is probably around 18. The problem is that your dog can be trampled or knocked over when the dogs "run the fence" --dogs from the big dog park come up and run the fence. And, you have to be very careful of negligent owners. There is "regular" (on weekends primarily) who throws the ball for her dog Dallas. She cannot throw. She has almost hit people, including me, and I witnessed her hitting two dogs. One was Chewy, a cute, tiny little dog that she hit in the side. The other was my dog, Cody, about 19 pounds...on his head, ON THE SAME DAY. My dog apparently suffered a seizure right after that because he shivered, jerked his head, and could not walk normally---he jerked and could not control his legs. So three things you should know: run, not walk if you see this woman throwing the ball; she's nice but does NOT CARE. Actions speak louder than words...she kept throwing the ball after hitting one dog and almost hitting people. Second, the majority of dog park people will try to smooth it over, tell you your dog is fine...anything to avoid a conflict or the truth. Third, do not believe her when she says she is going to stop throwing the ball. She said that after hitting Chewy, and i believed her. Wrong. She resumed throwing the ball, and my dog was injured. She is irresponsible and self-serving. She needs to take her ball and go home. read more
