Our experience was incredibly frustrating and ultimately felt like we were being taken advantage of. We were charged $250 for a pipe repair without ever being contacted, consulted, or quoted for the work. When we tried to schedule a meeting to discuss the charge, they refused to meet, ignored our calls, and eventually threatened us with eviction unless we paid. We were forced to pay for something we had no opportunity to approve or dispute. When we moved out, we gave more than 30 days' notice, professionally cleaned the carpets and the home, and even touched up the walls. Despite this, they withheld $2,100 of our security deposit. Their breakdown included: * $300 for drywall repair (not previously mentioned or shown to us) * $1,100 for painting the entire house (even though we left it in great condition) * A charge to replace a lightbulb they falsely claimed was out * $260 for cleaning (even though we had the home professionally cleaned) Throughout the process, this company was unresponsive, evasive, and became aggressive when we questioned the charges. It was clear they had no intention of communicating fairly or ethically. They do not treat tenants with respect and seem to rely on intimidation and avoidance to force compliance. This company took advantage of us and treated us dishonestly. Renters, beware--they will take your money and ignore your concerns.

It took ~1.5 months to get someone in there and things were going well. After the first couple months it felt like there was little to no communication from the property manager to me, the homeowner. Tenants would be late paying their rent and I would have to reach out to the property manager asking where the rent was for the month even though we were 12+days into that month. The property manager did not check on the house periodically, so the tenants trashed the place. The worst part was when the tenant did not pay rent and stopped communicating with the property manager. The manager took 22 days before producing the 7 day rent payment notice and then took another 3 weeks after the tenant vacated to get contractors to provide a quote to fix the place. Sigua mentioned they had multiple contractors they regularly use and turn around properties quickly, which felt like a lie with the incredibly slow action that was taken with my property. My property was mismanaged and vacant for 3 months during what should have been cosmetic repairs that should only take ~2 weeks. The contractor then waited 3 months to produce an inaccurate invoice where they tried to overcharge me. I would never trust my home or business with Sigua or any of its affiliates again. They were not helpful, transparent, or proactive in managing my property at all. I moved my property to another management company and have had a much smoother successful arrangement.

I met with George and was so impressed the way he ran his Business. Let's say his Company has been taking care my Rental Property for over 7 years. I have never had one issue.     Unacceptable Living Conditions and Poor Communication at Shoenberger and Shoenberger…read more Here's a taste of what we endured during our stay: Mold: Our apartment became infested with black mold, causing respiratory problems for both me and my partner. Despite repeated urgent requests, it took Shoenberger and Shoenberger months to even attempt a fix. The initial attempt, using only bleach, proved ineffective, and the mold returned even worse. Even after further delays, they only addressed the issue in a single area, leaving the rest of the apartment a health hazard. Flooding: We experienced two flooding incidents in our apartment. The first, caused by a faulty toilet, transformed our hallway and living room into a soaked mess, completely into the floorboards. Shoenberger and Shoenberger failed to replace the carpet, even though it was saturated. It wasn't until a second flood, caused by their failure to replace a malfunctioning washing machine, that they finally addressed the damaged carpet The Manager and the Office: Communication with the property management office, particularly regarding maintenance requests, was consistently slow and frustrating. Our concerns were not addressed promptly or professionally. We also found our interaction with Nancy to be frustrating and not up to the standards we expect. We did not feel our concerns were addressed in a welcoming manner. Nancy, the manager, sent us rude emails in response to this review insisting that my factual experience was a lie. Also stating things such as, "If you had a horrible experience, the whole four years, but didn't vacate till now?", even though there was a housing crisis. If we had the ability to pack up and move, we would have. Furthermore, several service technicians we interacted with expressed their own dissatisfaction with internal communication practices at the office, suggesting a systemic problem. Personally, I would advise steering clear of Shoenberger and Shoenberger. Finding a responsive and well-maintained property is crucial. The delays and communication challenges caused significant inconvenience and frustration. Potential tenants should absolutely consider these factors before signing a lease with this property management company. I think by also reading the other reviews, you would consider other property management companies as a first choice.
