My wife & I just leased our third CX-5 and our first from Alden Mazda. If we were not new to the area, we would have leased all three vehicles from them. From my perspective (that of someone who has easily leased 25 new cars), the honest and excellent professionals at Alden Mazda represent the gold standard prototype of how a dealership should be run. They respect your time (how refreshing!) are honest & transparent in their presentation of figures and are also just really nice, real people. We dealt with Richard (Sales Manager), Andrew (Sales Consultant) and Amy (Finance Manager). All three were absolutely fantastic. I would say this is definitely in the running for "the best car buying/leasing experience that I've ever encountered." Just brought my MX5 to Alden Mazda for an oil change and airbag recall firmware update. I usually do all my own fluid changes(and have for the past 40 years), but it had to go in for the recall so I figured, "its only an oil change, how can they screw that up?" Well, when I got home I figured I'd check the oil level. Not surprisingly, it was overfilled by almost one quart of oil. For those that don't know, overfilling a crankcase is worse than slightly underfilling it. Not wanting to drive it, I called Alden Mazda service and explained what was wrong. They checked with the technician and he was adamant that he "put in 4.5-5 quarts of oil." Well, the oil capacity of the 2.0 skyactive engine is 4.5 with filter change, so if he put in 5 quarts he overfilled it. I took a video of me checking the oil level and it being obviously overfilled and emailed it to their service department. If they can't get an oil change correct, imagine what else they will get wrong with monkeys like that working there. Luckily, like I said I only use the dealership for recalls and warranty work. I will NOT be going back to Alden Mazda for ANY work. Right now, we're looking for a CX9 for the family. I definately will not be buying it from them. read more

Our 2014 CX5 went in on 8/24 for front end vibration as low as 60 MPH and a slight clunk from the brake pedal sometimes when it was applied or released. The diagnostic fee was $159.95. Tech than reported to the service manager that the 2 front rims were BENT and should be replaced, but would rebalance these wheels and place them on the rear to minimize vibration. (New rims were in excess of $600.00 EACH.) He diagnosed the clunk from the brake pedal as coming from the rear brakes even though the pad thickness reading was 4MM and the minimum is 2MM. The charge for the rear brake job was $585.00. My total bill was $839.90. Upon leaving the dealer ship and driving on the hi way the vibration had shifted to the rear of the car. I took the car home and did an axial runout (with a dial indicator) on the 4 aluminum rims and found the worst one was .043". You can't see a wobble that small so I don't know how the tech did! I visited a repair shop I trust and they recommended I go the tire shop that does their suspension, brake, tire and wheel work. They took off the rear tires, inspected them and could not confirm any bent rims. They did have me go in to the bay to show me SCALLOPING on the rear tires. You could actually feel it as you ran your fingers along the tire treads! HOW COME THE MADZA TECH DIDN'T SEE THIS! He recommended replacing the 2 rear tires, but when he tried to ID them he said " where did you get these no name tires?. I said the Mazda dealer! He than said I don't even know if I can get those! Since the fronts were worn more that 50%, I decided to replace all 4 tires. I mentioned the brake pedal clunk and he said it might be the sway bar links. He did an inspection ( for no charge) and said he couldn't see a problem there. (He also told me he does brakes for $350/ axle!) So again the $$585.00 rear brake job (that wasn't really needed) did not solve the occasional brake pedal clunking problem. It is my opinion that the service managers @ Alden Mazda push parts and repair work that is not really need or solves the problems you have. My wife and I really like the CX-5 we have and we did buy it @ Alden, but I will be looking to get future service work done elsewhere read more

Phenomenal experience. Wayne, Rich & Tony were great. I reached out to several dealers and they were the only ones to consistently stay in contact with me and Wayne even sent a personalized video to introduce himself and the dealership. Now that's customer service. He won me over with being kind, professional and consistent communication. The other dealers lost my business all because they wouldn't respond to simple communication. I'm a loyal customer so as long I'm treated fairly I will be a long time customer from getting my Mazda Serviced there to getting into a new lease down the road. They are professional, nice down to earth and offered me more for my trade in than what the market was willing to offer. They had me approved for lease within hours and the pickup experience of my new CX-5 was smooth. Wayne gave me a in-depth overview of my new car upon delivery. Great experience. Just bought my SUV from here. The sales staff: Andrew the salesman, Tony the general manager and Amy the finance manager were incredible, They are the complete opposite of any car sales people I have ever dealt with. No pressure, no bull...just honest, straight talk, from the moment you walk in, to the time you leave (which is not an all-day affair like at many other dealerships). Finalizing the deal and doing the paperwork was done very efficiently and professionally. You see how well both Tony and Amy work together in that process. The day I picked up the car, Andrew very patiently explained all the dash controls and car's features, again very efficiently and professionally. If I could give them a higher rating, I would! The service department here was fantastic. My family and I - two adults, one newborn baby and two dogs - were on our way to Cape Cod when one of our belts snapped and our car broke down on the side of 195 at 3:30pm. With the help of a tow truck, we had taken our car to Alden Mazda since they were only two miles away. We showed up at 4:30pm asking if they could do a last minute repair job. All of the staff was super friendly and the service department took our car in immediately, fixed the problem and had us on our way by 5:05pm. They saved us from having to find a dog friendly hotel, stay the night and lose a day. Can't say "Thank you!" enough! read more

Worst experience. It started out with great service from sales people but at the end had to deal with a finance manger Amy. She referred herself as the "Mazda King" very odd I know but after the third time referring herself as the "Mazda King" I noticed that's what she really thought about herself. AMY "the Mazda" King was rude Very unprofessional and bopping all over the place like she had one to many red bulls or something. Ran my mothers credit who I was helping buy the Mazda for numerous times and offering us service her car insurance already offered. She was hesitant and got mad us for not wanting more add ons and the entire time felt uncomfortable as she was all over the place sitting, standing and demanding us to get more and more and more. This is probably the best place to bring your Mazda - the staff are very knowledgeable, friendly, and go the extra mile for a customer! I needed a license plate bracket for my 2017 vehicle, because in Florida only one plate is needed & was not included on my vehicle. Brian, in Parts, was more than helpful so I could get it quickly, and have it installed so I could have a front plate on the car (I had just registered the vehicle and needed to be in compliance in Mass. in a few days). They also were able to inspect it - which was awesome that we didn't' have to take it elsewhere! I wish I could remember all the people I dealt with, so I can mention them because they were terrific! I am an "experienced" senior citizen car buyer, and dealing with Alden Mazda was one of the more pleasant of these efforts. The salesman, Chris Britto, was very pleasant and patient, taking all the time in the world with me. The negotiation for the car itself was straightforward, and Tony the business manager was also plain-speaking and direct. There was no push to buy the usual extras that help the dealership bottom line. They had an extensive choice of cars, and everything about the purchase was straightforward. On March 12th, 2016 I purchased a brand new Mazda CX-5 GT. A sporty little AWD. What started out as a fun new adventure has gone south. On day 2 driving the vehicle the forward camera started having issues. Went back twice for service on the issue only to be told that engineers first in CA are trying to figure out the problem and then in Japan. Next, on a Monday morning after having the car for two weeks, the car is dead!! What?? I call @Alden Mazda in Fairhaven, MA, they advised me to go ahead & jump car. I arrive at my destination ,hop out of the car, go to lock it with the key fob, it will not lock, I get back in my to find the ignition is still on even though the engine is off! Not exactly sure what to do? I power back up the car and back the car out of parking place, pull back in... Still nothing! I drive around the lot and after 7 minutes I can successfully power out the ignition! I head back towards home... From I-495 to Rt 24, just as I approach new Amazon facility my instrument panel lights up & is blinking! I was in the speed lane going about 64 mph, pulled into the slow lane just as my new car turned off! I coasted into the breakdown lane-Dead car!! Really?? So, once again I get a jump! Called @Alden Mazda service Dept and agree to bring it in AGAIN for service Tuesday morning . Pick up my car on Thursday afternoon. Sadly, the service dept could not repeat my cars problem! On Friday after running errands, I arrive back home & Voilà... I power out the car, but ignition will not shut down again! I drive it around the block and it finally is turned off completely. Next- I drive my CX5 to dinner that same night- & 'yay', same problem again as I arrive home!! Message in dash "ignition on"!!! Bugger! At least this time I have a witness to this fiasco!! I call the service dept at Alden Mazda on Saturday &relay my latest problems. I am advised to bring the vehicle back in on Monday... Back in we go! After leaving Alden, I decide it's time to contact @MazdaUSA. After relaying my story to a rep- named Javier. Javier assures me he will get to the bottom of the CX5 & all its issues!! After three days we are exactly where we started, except Javier offers me gift cards for comp oil changes!!! Yes... I sure did laugh out loud!! I have 1400 miles on a vehicle I have had for 1 month, most of which is traveling back & forth to the dealer trying to replicate the issues I have had with the car. Who would have known that a brand new car would require so much attention! Has anyone else had this trouble?? Sadly, @Alden Mazda tells me it is out of their hands. Javier, from @Mazda USA said he would keep the file open... Well, thanks for that! 4/20/2016 My Mazda is currently a planter in front of my big barn. I have not driven the car since 4/13, one month & a day since I picked it up from Alden. Last thing any of us need is for the CX5 to malfunction & lose control causing an accident, I can't in good conscious be that irresponsible! Alden has chosen to not respond to me and MazdaUSA as you know has offered me gift cards for a few oil changes to appease me. 4/24/2016 - finally heard from the dealership, not happy w/ a Mazda survey I filled out on service. Felt I gave an unfair estimation of my experience with Alden. Ultimately, my car was never fixed & the safety piece is a major issue. It was suggested from one of the owners that I should be driving the car, as this is the "only" way to repeat the problem, allowing Alden to fix it. The safety issue clearly isn't an issue for them. I value my life, my passengers & those I meet on the road too much to "try" & repeat the problem! I was told I need to go to MazdaUSA for any resolution in this matter, I responded w/ "I didn't purchase the vehicle from MazdaUSA, I purchased it from you at Alden." I was offered option to trade in my car towards the purchase of a new car! I have hired an attorney. Hoping they decide to take high road & advocate for me, take back the lemon & make lemonade.
