Pros: The price is excellent for the location. It's right across a parking lot to Davanni's and Subway. Lunds and Byerlys, is right across the street, as is Dominos, Buca de Beppo and Butcher and The Boar. It's in walking distance to Target Field, the Orpheum, First Ave, downtown Target, the Walker, as well as MCTC and St. Thomas. The units have been updated with new stainless steel appliances, kitchen cabinets and wood floors. The larger studios are very spacious, with separate kitchens. I have a king size bed, loveseat, a small computer desk, and a bookshelf in mine with plenty of space and an open, airy feel. There are coin operated washers and dryers in the basement level. There's also an area in the basement level just off the laundry room to store your bike. Maintenance lives on site and has been pretty responsive.
Cons: No dedicated parking. Your only options are street parking or one of the parking garages at monthly rates. The closest garage is about two blocks away. Street parking in the winter is a challenge between being on a snow emergency route, and being plowed in all the time. There's no elevator in the building, so if you have any mobility issues, be prepared to do steps. They advertise easy online payments through their online portal - but they charge an exorbitant fee for doing so. The fee to pay my $995 rent online is $37. You will have to mail a payment or drop it at their Uptown office to avoid the fee. I've had a couple of packages stolen from the mailbox area so I now have them all held at the post office or a ups/fedex location. I don't recommend trusting your packages here. I was also told upon moving in almost a year ago that they were in the process of adding a WiFi lounge, and workout facility on the first floor, and that was a selling point for me. It's almost a year later and they haven't even begun to do any of that, so if you visit the property and are offered that as an upcoming amenity, don't count on it. read more
