After check in, we went to the room, which was spacious, spotless and absolutely lovely. A bottle of champagne was on ice in the sitting area with a nice welcome note. Everything in this hotel was a 5 star experience. If this hotel was in Napa, it would easily be $1000 a night. So IMO, it's an exceptional value. The main are of the hotel has beautiful sitting areas with fire places. It's relaxing and calming. Besides the amazing wines, the food was very good. At dinner, the Sommelier paired wine with our dishes which was a nice touch. The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially when they pick you up by tuk tuk to take you the restaurant and then back to your room after dinner. The pool and spa are also a nice touch to complete this experience. I highly recommend this hotel. If you want to feel pampered and a little bougie this is the place.

All of them surrounded by the calming and gorgeous view of perfectly straight rows of plush, green vines. Our room was very modern and comfortable with a full wall window facing a view I won't forget. Even on the second night, it seemed as exciting as the first. I can't get enough of this place. It may take some time to find all the light and decipher all the switches and options but if you have trouble, the staff is very friendly and keen to help you. On our arrival we were greeted with a very welcoming glass of their own sparkling and they also brought our bags directly in our rooms while we were checking in. If you don't want to walk to your room, you can always ask for a ride in their golf carts. We did came back pretty late in the evening, but each night we gathered with our group in the lobby bar on the first floor of the main building. The bartender was very helpful and friendly. He made very pleasing recommendations and they had very interesting choices. I hope I get to go back.

We were here for our Honeymoon in 2010 and this time, we walked here at the end of the Camino Ingles. One big change since our last visit was that our Superior room was upgraded to a Junior Suite, and with a view of the Cathedral Plaza! As this is one of the best Paradors in the system, everything her remained first class. Our breakfasts were fantastic, the historical walk arounds within the Parador were informative, the architecture was fascinating, the common areas were comfortable and relaxing, and the outdoor patio restaurant was a fun place to hang out. I had one little incident when a waiter accidently spilled sangria on me. I took it all with good humor, especially since the waiter was highly apologetic. Parador staff also offered to have the affected clothes washed, which were back in our room (with another apology and a few treats) within a couple hours. Being treated like royalty (especially when we're not) made our day. Gayle and I are already talking about another Camino, maybe the Portuguese Coastal Way. If we do, we have no doubt where we'll be staying again at the end of our Pilgrimage.

Then, after completing the circuits multiple times, proceed up to the fully glass-enclosed pool, where there are multiple different water features to pummel, massage, and relax you. Water beds, water jets, and water sprays make for a fun experience! We also spent several hours getting spa treatments, taking a thermal bath in the legendary healing waters of La Toja, getting massaged, wrapped, and facials. Afterwards, skin was so nice! Lighting in the room was defecient as most hotels and trying to charge your electronics was a nightmare... once you turned your lights out, it would cut the power of your devices as well, so we had to charge in the bathroom. Bathroom was on the ok side... shower was also on the good side. The bathrobe needs a replacement as it was harsh and over-used... Staff in the lobby could be nicer.... Breakfast in the dining room was very good... great service there! As for the restaurant, I will post a review of its own as it does deserve a star in the Michellin book!!! The gardens outside are quite nice... they needed some care though.. All in all, it was a good hotel and missing some details to maintain the R.C. status in my opinion.... Enjoy
