We decided to work with Blooming Spoon during early postpartum - Bodhi made sure that any special…read morerequest and specialty items for postpartum were accommodated. She paired us with Chef Elizabeth, and the food was absolutely incredible. It exceeded any restaurant quality in all of Marin. Elizabeth made some of the best meals we have ever eaten. Most importantly, I care about the sourcing of quality ingredients, and Blooming Spoon completely understands this - sourcing seasonal and organic ingredients. My family moved out of the area, and I wish we could convince Blooming Spoon to move with us haha!

Cooking ourselves a healthy, diverse and flavorful diet that meets our dietary requirements is a chore so of course we aren't that great about it. We met Bodhi Cole and then Shannon from Blooming Spoon and now we have fresh, delicious, diverse prepared food that meets our dietary needs delivered to our doorstep every week. When you actually calculate the cost of eating out plus groceries it's really not that much more to have nice folks take care of everything. We now have lunches and dinners augmented with some fruits and veggies from Farm Fresh to You, we eat out far less, are on our dietary plan closer to 100% vs closer to 0%, love the food we get and even see Bodhi or Shannon when food is delivered and always have a nice chat. This service is well worth it and makes our lives better!

We could not be happier with the recommendation as the appetizers and entrées were absolutely stunning -- both in flavor and aesthetics! Our biggest difficulty was choosing dishes from his diverse catalog of offerings since they all sounded delicious. He was also very accommodating and made various adjustments to account for particular food allergies that some of our guests had (without compromising on flavor at all). For appetizers, we chose: - Pepper-Crusted Seared Ahi Tuna (Seka Hills EVOO, Sicilian Pesto, Herbs) - Ratatouille Tarts (Puff Pastry, Seka Hills EVOO, Parmigiano Reggiano) - Pistachio Flatbread (Onion, Burrata, Honey, and Chili Oil -- this one was a extra-huge hit with all guests) For dinner, we started with a Local Harvest Salad (Farm Vegetables, Fruit, Vinaigrette, Cheese, and Nuts -- plating was particularly beautiful for the salad), and had three entrée options: - Wagyu New York Steak (Imperial American Wagyu, Roasted Vegetables, Marinated Portobello Mushrooms, Potato Galette, and Red Wine Jus) - Signature Duck (Mary's Crusted Duck Breast, Hind-Quarter Confit, Potato Cake, Charred Vegetables, and Duck Jus) - Roasted Butternut Squash with Cannellini Beans (Charred Vegetables, Marinated Portobello Mushrooms, and Saffron-Rosemary Broth) Throughout our entire wedding and afterwards, guests were telling us how impressed they were and that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding! He and his team arrived right on schedule, set up (including silverware and plates) cooked and served outstanding food, provided extremely attentive service, and then cleaned up, leaving the kitchen absolutely spotless (while also deftly navigating a brief power outage!). We cannot recommend Adam Small Cooks highly enough! His food, attention to detail, and service are truly next level. Thank you again for making our wedding so special!

Chef Adam was amazing!!!…read more We celebrated a friend's birthday with 6 people at an Airbnb in Sonoma. We had a six course menu (see below for details) that was excellent! For the vegetarian in the group (me) he was able to whip up a wonderful dish when everyone else was eating halibut. Every single dish was a stand out and the group was so happy with how everything turned out. This was a wish of the birthday girl - to have a private chef and to spend time with her girlfriends. She was blown away by the experience. The 6 course meal included: Fried Baby Artichokes: lemon aioli, herbs, chili oil Flatbread: preserved truffle, pistachios, onion, burrata, honey, chili oil Ash Roasted Beets: kimchi honey, pistachios, ravigote, feta Charred Zucchini Agnolotti: fried sage, brown butter, lemon, pepper, parmigiana Seared Halibut: fennel-potato salad, herbs, haricot vert, preserved truffle champagne sauce Under-Baked Chocolate Cake: Italian meringue, Luxardo cherries, cocoa nibs Also, our kitchen was left spotless! Thanks again Chef Adam for giving us the perfect first day of our trip!

When I first showed up on Suzanne's doorstep last fall, I didn't even know how to hold a knife,…read moremuch less use one. To me, an oven was 'that thing in the kitchen with lots of knobs on it, taking up space.' I blame a decade of living in Manhattan after college, a college cafeteria that was actually good, and even before that, lovely parents who probably took care of too many things themselves. Flash forward to six months ago, and there I was: a recent transplant to Marin--apparently, a land of dinner parties. I felt hopeless, and knew I'd soon have to start hosting guests at my house. Gulp. Then I found Suzanne! She is calm, kind, knowledgeable, and fun. Low-key, but somehow still high-energy. It's an excellent combination for a cooking instructor. Most of her classes feel like small gatherings of friends, even when no one knows each other--and that's really a credit to Suzanne. I've made lots of wonderful things in class, and successfully replicated them later, at home. I've also learned skills there--not just recipes--so I'm generally able to find my way around the kitchen much better than before. I haven't hosted a super fancy dinner party quite yet, but my oven is no longer something strange and vaguely scary. Learning how to cook properly is a true life skill--one I really wish I'd picked up earlier! So in a way, Suzanne has changed my life :) I'm not a beginner anymore, but I still go to her classes often. Lots of people who can already cook go, too--just to learn some new tricks and tips. I always learn something! I also just think they make for a fun evening. And if there's any other complete beginners out there... Trust me, if I can do it, you can!!

From the moment I first contacted Barbara to cater my wedding reception, she gave me her full…read moreattention. Other caterers I contacted completely ignored my question of whether they could do BBQ and gave me their standard wedding chicken-and-salmon menus when I asked for a quote. But, Barbara called me up and gave me ideas from past summer picnic menus she had done. We ended up doing something else completely different (SF neighborhood-themed stations) based on a tasting we did at an actual wedding Barbara was doing. Barbara also went out of her way to accommodate our busy work schedules. I was really impressed that she met us at our home after hours for meetings and made no comment about our junky apartment. She had great ideas to supplement ours. She suggested a coffee bar, something we would've never thought of, which ended up being a hit with our guests. My only problem was with the pricing, which was vague, and I'm the kinda gal who balances her checkbook every week. I don't think she was being sneaky, she just wanted to simplify things with big lump sums, and it always kinda bothered me. Having said that, Barbara seriously took care of everything down to the last detail like I was her own daughter getting married and I never felt like I was going to be nickel-and-dimed for every little extra thing she did for us. And the food was unbelievable, even by foodie standards. Cowgirl Creamery cheese! Quesadillas made in front of you! Dim sum in huge steamer baskets! Very personable, and very busy, but always gets back to you when you email or call. I wish I could get married again so I could have FGF cater another delicious spread for us. :)

After I proposed to my wife, and we secured the Golden Gate Club for our wedding venue, they had…read moregiven my wife a list of caterers to review. She had contacted several of them on a Saturday, and two replied within hours. Barbara Federoff of Food Glorious Food was one of them, and my wife scheduled the appointment to meet in Novato. Her quote was a little more expensive than the other immediate responder, and I was whining all the way as we drove to Novato that this better be good because the traffic across the bridge is a parking lot at best, and I have better ways to spend my evenings then tasting food. But, I tried to be a sport because it's her day, and we made it there about a half hour early because the carpool lane was open. Barbara greeted us warmly, even though we were early, and gave us a glass of wine while she and her staff prepared the appetizers. After a few minutes, she rolled out the crab cakes while she talked about her business. Great, I thought, crab cakes. My experience with them is usually dismal because they are little more than a lot of deep fried bread and spices. I took a taste anyways, and after the flavors of crab followed by the right spicing flooded my mouth, I began to reconsider all of my bitchin'...it was clear this lady knew how to cook. Then after a tasty pasta dish, she served us tenderloin with pancetta that simply melted in our mouths, and at that point I had decided in my head who our caterer was. After the meat course we talked business; she assured us that she attends the event, orders the tables and glassware, and that it would be adequately staffed. I drove home with a full belly, telling my wife that it was Barbara's job to lose. All I can say is that wedding planning was a snap after we contacted her. She referred us to a 'young baker with enthusiasm' (read that as eager to price competitively) that made a marvelous cake, her contact at Beverages and More had our open bar stocked perfectly at a price that put hotel prices to shame, and all of the table services and servers were covered in her quote. In short (I know, too late), she was always responsive and professional, and her help took out all of the guesswork for food and drink. Truth be told, when you add it all up, I'm pretty sure we saved money because of her recommendations. Crunch time, wedding day. I arrived at the venue for pictures and she already had the troops slinging those god-sent crabcakes and the tables were set up. I showed her how we wanted our table decorations and seating, left the example, and headed out for the wedding. After the ceremony was finished, all was in order as we (she) planned. The room looked wonderful, and the table seating was perfect. The food came out promptly and the service and cleanup was professional. Since the wedding, we received excellent reviews about the food and drinks, and my wife still keeps raving about how much Food Glorious Food helped us plan our special day.
