Who'd've guessed? **For (US) Americans, by coffee i mean espresso drinks. An americano is pretty close to what we think of as coffee. If that just won't do, there's a Starbucks somewhere.

They had some creative coffee options: expresso with cardamom, espresso with whisky, and every conceivable type of expresso/milk concoction. Their food is also really good. I ate a few steak sandwiches there and I was always very impressed. You can tell this place is an institution good because virtually all swathes is Buenos Aires come here, from fancy ladies on their way to or coming back from concerts to Argentine hipsters taking advantage of the strong wifi with their laptops. The place is quite old, I think it was founded sometime in the 1920s, but I could be misremembering. Nevertheless, the decor and architecture is certainly of that time. Oh and they are also a spice store.

My friends were seated alongside another group and we all waited over 20min to get the attention of a server and have our orders taken. The servers were all walking by us refusing to look at us, which was really odd. The reviews also mentioned the red velvet cake being amazing and so I ordered a slice of it. It was incredibly dry and did not stand out positively at all.

To eat, I tried the Falafeliz (what a creative name!), a dish of 5 homemade falafel served over pumpkin puree with cashews, along with a salad on the side made of greens, roasted tomatoes, red onions, citrus segments, cucumber, and topped with yogurt dressing and savory granola. The falafel were nice and crunchy but had a rather dry texture and were a bit underseasoned; however, the salad was light, delicious, and refreshing. I also tried the Papita Pal Loro, which was a two-layered waffle stuffed with a mixture of caramelized onions, grilled zucchini, fried egg, roasted pumpkin, roasted tomatoes, and mozzarella! This was a simple yet tasty dish--the waffle was soft yet chewy, and the mixture inside was savory and delicious. While neither one of these plates was anything all that special, they were beautifully arranged and definitely made for a nice casual meal!

Right on the latter, but surprisingly not so much on the former. Came in on a Sunday for a very late lunch. The menu is very non-local but creative, and the food surprised to the upside (ie. pretty good). Nice and speedy wi-fi connection and they invite you to come in and chill all day for 49 pesos, presumably without ordering anything.
