"I was a dedicated patient at Counseling Care from 2018 until recently, when I was forced to…read moreterminate my relationship with this clinic due to severe safety and ethical concerns. 1. Dangerous Medical Practices: In my family's experience, Dr. Lucas Bachmann made significant changes to a prescription regimen without first obtaining necessary medical records or performing a baseline evaluation of the patient. Making major medication adjustments without reviewing patient history or meeting the patient face-to-face is, in my opinion, medically negligent and deeply alarming. 2. Privacy Violations: During my time under Dr. Bachmann's care, I observed unauthorized individuals present during sensitive medical appointments without prior consent or introduction. This showed a complete disregard for patient privacy and standard clinical protocols. 3. Lack of Accountability: This clinic appears to operate without independent oversight. Because it is family-run, there is no neutral escalation path for grievances. When a provider fails you here, there is no one to hold them accountable. Context: I was transferred to Dr. Bachmann only after my previous provider at this location (Dr. Gavin Meany) was removed due to criminal legal proceedings. The decline in the standard of care since that transition has been absolute. Verdict: I strongly caution prospective patients--especially those with complex medical needs--to seek care elsewhere. The practices I witnessed here are unsafe."

I recommend Dr. Pasnecker as a therapist most highly. He's…read morethe right combination of brilliant and kind. His use of diagnostic testing is unusually well integrated into his approach. I especially appreciate the fact that he's action oriented and not interested in chatty sessions that go nowhere. Personally, I have gotten further in three months of seeing Dr. Pasnecker than I have from a few years of seeing other therapists.

I gave it one star because its almost impossible to call and not be put on hold for more than a minimum of 5-10min. Even scheduling in person is insane. They attempt to do everything electronically on IPADS but it seems to cause more issue. They also have not yet straightened out an on going filing error they made so we spend at least 10 min explaining and almost arguing over their mistake. They just seem to always be running around like chickens with their heads cut off. On the other hand the therapist I've met is great! Libby is awesome :)

Dr. Lori is very good at her job. After many bad experiences at Nystrom and Associates I switched…read moreto FLMHC and have been very pleased. They don't cancel appointments on me as I am travelling to said appointment and they seem to do a pretty good job of communicating my needs to chemists/pharmacists (I have some pretty odd allergies). Dr. Lori and her team have done more for my whole-body/life health in the last 6 months than Nystrom and others did in a combination of 14+years. I only wish I had switched sooner! I love their flexibility and non-guilt-trip attitude when the rare occasion does occur such as you were called in to work and will be unable to make an appointment. My single gripe is that scheduling appointments can take a little longer than you'd want. You can spend quite a while standing there. I don't know what a receptionist job there entails, but I feel like there's probably a way to streamline that. Yay FLMHC! I love your no-nonsense approach to helping others! Your staff seems to truly have genuine compassion as well. They're not just there because it's a way to pay the bills!

There was little communication between us and the relationship we did have was taken for granted. Within 6 months of therapy with Brent, my problem with them was solved. First, Brent had me enumerate the stresses associated with the roles I had with these people. Then we developed a plan of action to reduce these stressors. One assignment was to list pros & cons of asserting myself. An example was the erosion of my relationship with my spouse caused by my rumination on the problem. I was also worried about the pressure getting to me and having an outburst of emotion with these relatives which would greatly damage our relationship. The pros, which I learned from listing my values and how I demonstrated them, helped to justify my faith in myself, and reduced the tension I felt when I talked to them to set boundaries. All in all, my relationship became a win-win between my family and myself with Brent giving me guidance and support to achieve my goal.

I have learned a lot of tangible skills on coping with panic attacks and seen marked improvement in my mental health. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone, especially LGBTQ and/or people of color patients who are looking for a knowledgeable and caring therapist of color here in the suburbs. I appreciated how she open-minded and considerate she was about a variety of different identity/experiences that I had. From my experience, she is familiar with trauma, LGBTQ, social justice, race, gender issues. I liked that I was not immediately prescribed drugs to fix the problem (like other therapists I have had); instead, we took the time to address the root causes of the problem, and I am sure that she would have worked with me to make a decision if medication was necessary. I would recommend Dr. Huang without any reservation, and also the receptionist Kelsey who is always so welcoming and remembers my name.

One example is Mr. Fischer, who does not have a medical degree, mocking advice from my primary care physician. He did so in a way that was familiar to frat boys rather than a person conducting a custody evaluation. A second way in which Mr. Fischer was unprofessional was with my therapist. I gave my therapist permission to share his notes and observations with Fischer. Unfortunately, my therapist declined Fischer's request, and Scott Fischer "went off" on my therapist in a rage over the phone. A third way Mr. Fischer was underwhelming was his note-taking. I have his file and am disturbed by how little of what I told him was recorded by Fischer. It was as if he was daydreaming and absent when I replied to his questions. Ultimately, Fischer's custody evaluation made harsh recommendations that he did not support in his documentation. This lack of support, coupled with the inadequacy of his note-taking, has led to five lawyers agreeing that he did not satisfy his legal responsibilities in my case. I'll close by returning to my lawyer's advice about Fischer. My lawyer had experienced Fischer's work previously and said, "He's not a straight arrow." My lawyer did not elaborate other than saying that he was inconsistent in his comments and difficult to pin down. He could have been a more trusted, honest, and reliable resource. Hiring Scott Fischer was a mistake in my case.
