If I could rate them lower I would. When I moved in it took several months to get everything working, from my sink falling out of my counter, to a moldy washing machine and broken dryer, broken heat during a big freeze for over 72 hours, I've seen it all. I paid so much extra in utilities because my hot water heater was old and breaking constantly. Management also refused to answer reasonable questions, such as the brand of rock salt they used in the winter (my dog had ingested it and I needed to figure out the tox report for her vet team). I did not feel safe living here, I nearly got hit by several cars speeding, accosted by other residents and vistors, and someone lacked the ability to control their dog. I had to physically pull a 45+ lbs dog off of my 12 lbs one. My upstairs neighbor was loud, smoked (in a smoke free community), and when I complained I was told "he's been gone for months," "Nobody lives up there," etc when I've seen him go home every day. I was told once to confront him myself by management because they were too short staffed to do it themselves. I once found threatening notes from and to other neighbors and weapons such as crowbars stuck in the ground. Oh, also nobody picks after themselves. Maintenance is incompetent and cost me several hundred dollars in medical expenses, after I alerted them of my vents being filthy and causing my allergies to me to urgent care multiple times. My doctors all instructed me to avoid my allergens, and the head of maintenance ignored my instructions and blew the filthy vent crud all over my apartment to "clean it." The entire time I lived here, I thought I was going crazy from all the gaslighting from the staff. I attempted to speak to the property manager SEVERAL times and she refused to acknowledge me. Her underlings also covered for her and deflected at every chance they got. They would constantly acknowledge my experience here was terrible and they will do their best to "improve" but in the end nothing was ever done. Do not waste your time, money or energy here.

A quick update: After calling multiple times Friday to…read morediscuss the pressing issues I listed previously, my calls were continuously rejected. (allowed to ring for shorter and longer times, then rejecting immediately, no voicemail box, etc) but when they finally responded to my google review in the public's eye, they made sure to mention that I can contact them anytime to discuss the matter. Sure. They have also chosen to stand by the void lease with my forged signature when finally emailing me back. A lease with a forged signature is not enforceable, therefore ( by law ) it is not legitimate and enforcing it violates multiple basic NC laws. But they "must follow the guidelines" ( whose guidelines? ones that they can make up on the spot? Ones not adhearing to NC business laws? who knows. ) I am a human being. I have only insisted on basic human rights, after I survived what happened. Because this threatened my life. I lived there, it was my home, too. Everything I've ever owned and carried through life is still inside that apartment. I have to keep insisting that I did not deserve to have everything taken away from me, simply because my ex wanted to move new people in to replace me. When they'd rather let their tenants get thrown onto the street due to the actions of an abusive spouse than do the right thing, they should not be allowed to manage and control anyone's housing. -- Steer clear of this place, management will not take action against illegal activity from tenants. My abusive spouse forged my signature to terminate my status on the lease when I lived here, effectively leaving me homeless while dealing with a chronic illness that I was made to miss treatments for. Management did nothing when made aware. Since my ex got away with forging my signature and was able to move more people in and out, me being off the lease also allowed the use of threats any time I said I was coming back to get my belongings-- including my own pets. My ex is also still evading divorce service after all this time while protected by management here. I had talked to the people in the management about everything, where they seemed sympathetic. They then went radio silent any other time I tried reaching out for help on returning. Since someone forging a signature to move others in and out is blatantly illegal, there is no reason for them to avoid a tenant breaking the law to such a degree. I had done everything expected of me, filed police reports locally, and the detective assigned just never responded to me either. No help from any sides, so now i just have to pray that im able to afford the right lawyer. There are plenty of other places to rent around this beautiful area, there is no reason to trust the staff here when a place of living should be protected for your safety. I didnt think I would survive having a home taken away from me, and people who could've done something chose to do nothing. The opposite of nothing, actively letting someone break the law and continuously renewing their lease.

Thankfully it was close to the communal car wash, so I was able to run him over there and get the ants off him quickly. He hated every second of this, and the ants somehow ended up biting me to shreds, but I got them off him. After that, I took him back to my apartment and then walked back down to the office to share this with the staff, thinking they would share with the exterminators to avoid other issues. But, everyone looked at me like I was crazy when I said I wanted to share the location of this ant hill and why. One of their newest staff members followed me outside (J thank you for coming with me and I'm sorry you got elected for this by default, but I very seriously appreciate you) and made note of the issue. Update #2: Someone mentioned the bad landscaping in another review and prior to moving in I kind of rolled my eyes about it... right? Bc with no context it's an odd thing to be upset about. But here is the thing.... It's a very dog friendly complex... SO.... Dead grass and random sticking up metal parts and holes in the ground = not the best place to walk your dog. Add a bunch of dogs, aerated turf, lots of rain, Straight up dirt with the metal bits and mess. I don't like it. At all. Update #3: Someone before me posted about the fire alarm and said it was painful to hear. I've now experienced it and can agree. This fire alarm is so loud that I couldn't get my cats out of my bedroom, my dog cried the entire walk downstairs and my ears still hurt badly from being either in my apartment, on my balcony or being outside. The video I posted is only of outside. But hopefully you get the gist. Thank God there was no actual fire today Bc I would not have been able to save all my animals. Update #4: the stomping above me never ends. It wakes us up at night almost daily and I miss sleep. I captured a video of it one afternoon for reference. 100% can't wait to move out.

I urge anyone looking to…read morelease from Hawthorne Apartments and Trellis Pointe to at least think twice before signing anything. The manager is basically non existent corporate shill who gives apologies written by ChatGPT, the front desk and maintenance is all around useless. Even going to them with simple problems gets nothing done and gaslight you into thinking you're the problem. I'm currently in a wall of sound with noise machines running 24/7 due to an annoying neighbor that is either fighting all the time or running their bathroom fan non stop to no end. Ear Plugs and Noise Machine for the amount of money they want you to pay for a building almost thirty years old is beyond ridiculous. I would like else where or maybe your have better luck then me I really wish you will just think about it before you sign.

I was a former resident having left due to the excessive noise from a neighbor during "quiet…read morehours". Over the past few months and my final weeks, there has been a persistent problem with noise coming from the neighboring apartment. Despite my attempts to address this directly with the neighbors and the management, the situation did not improved. The noise, particularly during late hours, was disruptive and affects my ability to sleep and maintain and enjoy whatever peace there was in my home. What was the point in signing a lease that told you of "quiet hours" that remind all tenants of the importance of adhering to quiet hours and maintaining a respectful living environment, when no one followed it then when you complain your the problem and the staff and management do little to nothing to address the situation and make you feel as though they couldn't care less as long as you pay your rent and keep your mouth shut. Once you become a "problem" Maintenance fixes nothing! They never answer the phones or in the office, they ignore your calls if you have to leave a message during business hours this has happened multiple times to me and several people i know that live there still and had once lived there. My experience started off good i will say, living there was very nice at first the buildings was clean and most of the other residents very nice and friendly. However a noticeable decline in the quality of service provided by the building's staff also this issue is not only distressing. The mounting garbage in the breezeway due to a new trash picking service drew a number of roach infestation which poses health risks. I had taken measures to manage the situation at least in my apartment, including maintaining cleanliness and using over-the-counter remedies, but these efforts did not resolved the problem. there was never a professional pest control service to address the infestation and ensure that such issues are thoroughly managed in the future. Requests for maintenance and repair work are often met with delays or incomplete resolutions or they don't show at all. Additionally, the staff's communication and responsiveness to tenant concerns most of whom had been lacking even before i moved in. This has led to an increasing level of frustration and inconvenience. The building's owner has been inattentive to critical issues affecting the tenants. There have been multiple instances where important matters, such as repairs and general upkeep, have been either delayed or ignored. The lack of proactive management and oversight has significantly impacted the quality of living within the building. Even if you urge them to address this negligence by ensuring that the owner takes a more active role in overseeing property management and addressing tenant concerns promptly i doubt anything will happen. All in All I would not recommend living there. Very few amenities. Completely overpriced. Everything is 20 plus years old, despite "newer models" available or not. There are brand new apartments everywhere for way less then these outdated apartments.

Milton and Veronica are extremely personable and willing to listen to any issues you run into, and if they can't help personally, they always know exactly where to direct you. During my time, I always received timely responses to any maintenance issues (I rarely had any - a fridge broke once, garbage disposal clogged, etc). The gym is a great bonus - it could use a bit of an update, but its nearly a fully-stocked exercise room (all it needs are some barbells and it'd be a full work-out space). I lived close to the pool which was an added bonus, as there is a real sense of community when the weather gets warm. This place was a perfect location for my commute. For two years I worked in Cary, 1 year I worked in Durham, and 1 in Raleigh. My commute was never longer than 30 minutes, and for Downtown Raleigh in particular, it only took me 10 minutes. I've seen some posts about cockroaches being an issue, but I can honestly say I've not had that problem. Management sprays every month, and as long as you keep good hygiene habits, you shouldn't have an issue. Overall, this complex was a great stepping point for me as I moved to ward my goals of home ownership, and I'll definitely miss the convenience and sense of community (prices aren't bad either!).

Good storage, laundry, dishwasher all in the unit. Pool, gym and office you can use, along with food truck and holiday events they are kind to hold for the community. They are VERY good for keeping things maintained and cleaned, and any pest control. Our air conditioner died and they sent someone within a few hours of reporting (they use a nifty online system to report any issues, pay rent etc) and it was fixed immediately. It is super loud outside most times because they're always busy cleaning or fixing something. I swear if there isn't a leafblower going there's something else, before winter they were sanding down bits of sidewalk you could trip on. But, while intrusive at times, I'd rather them be on top of things and be noisy than not, and I don't think most people would notice as much as I do since I'm here all the time. Parcels and retrieving them can be a bit of a pain unfortunately. They do not get delivered to your door, but are held in a room at the front office. They have to sort it all and they actually photograph and text/email that you have a parcel. While I appreciate it, I'd be much happier having my mail just come to the door instead of getting it much later while waiting for this. Especially during busy holiday times where they are clearly overwhelmed with the mass amount of mail. I have had a few parcels "misplaced" which they did eventually find thankfully. All in all a great place, I've lived in more apartments than I'd like to and this is by far the best and well managed.
