Chivalry & polite customer service is officially dead here at Grocery Outlet in Ontario, Oregon!…read moreThe man with glasses & goatee, who opened his line for me- talked to the female cashier instead of asking if he could assist me bagging up all my things. He didn't have anyone else in his line. He felt completely comfortable to just ignore me. I spent quite a few minutes trying to bag up my large amount of groceries. He finally asked me "are you all good there?" I told him I really would've appreciated if he had helped - he still did not care. All this doesn't make me ever wanna come back to this store. Come on Grocery Outlet-step up!! I may look completely competent to bag my own groceries but I still appreciate the niceties of customer service!!!

SO, despite the 100+ degree heat, I happened to be in Idaho for an excessive heat warning, I walked to this store several times. The air conditioning was amazingly refreshing. IF you ever find yourself in this little corner of Idaho, and you need something, Come here. Most likely you will find it here. Cheers and happy YELPING.

Jackson's buyout of the regional chain (pilot/flying J) hasn't been that great for customer service, especially for some truckers. Also, crime has been a problem at this Truck Stop, and the Ontario PD has had to put one of those flashing blue camera towers in front of it every night. The food is average truck stop fare. The Arby's is decent, and the customer service is attentive and above average. The little Mexican restaurant hidden behind the Truck Stop is open crazy hours and I like a lot.

Instead of the upbeat and professional atmosphere I've come to expect, the staff seemed far more focused on their personal lives than on customer service. During our visit, we learned more than we ever wanted to know about relationship drama, canceled dates, and other personal issues. It felt incredibly unprofessional and made for an awkward experience. To be fair, one employee taking our order was genuinely kind, welcoming, and not overly pushy. She was the highlight of our visit, and she deserves recognition for maintaining a positive attitude and providing great customer service. Unfortunately, the rest of the operation felt disorganized. The manager appeared disengaged, frequently walking back and forth without providing much direction or support. Drink production was chaotic as well. Watching nearly every other drink come out before the very first one ordered made it clear there were training and workflow issues that need attention. I expect better from Dutch Bros because most locations do a fantastic job. This location, however, felt unorganized, unprofessional, and poorly managed. Hopefully management takes a closer look at training and leadership because the experience didn't reflect the standard that has made Dutch Bros so popular.
