Unfortunately over the years prices have surpassed Natural Grocers or Whole Foods in many departments, particularly in vitamins and other supplements. Living in Las Cruces, is a nice option to have since we don't have Trader Joe's. I occasionally visit this store, only during the day as there are always homeless asking for help in the parking lot. I always check the Clearance section in the back for discounted items. Most of them are not a big savings, over priced items a dollar off. One time, I received the weekly flyer on my email so I went to the store to get the Mahi Mahi at a good sale price. The gentleman at the counter didn't know of any special on their website. The next day I went back and I spoke with the manager and I showed him the posted photo of the fish on sale. He apologized and said that they didn't receive the fish and offered me a rain check. I said it is fine, but I think your staff should know what is on the special of the week since you don't post them in your store. He replied that it wasn't posted following instructions from the company.Today 9/7, I visited the store. I checked the yogurt section and the discounted option had an BB date on August 27, 10 days ago! I think there are plenty of training opportunities for the staff in this store.

I now understand the "greasy" comment regarding the tacos. Yes, they were a little bit but it wasn't horribly offensive. Also, tacos can simply be a little greasy. It's fine, not a deal breaker. The tacos were very small portions, a bit smaller than the street tacos I'm used to. The carne asada was OK. It had a decent flavor but was like "pow" flavorful or OMGosh I have to have more. It satisfied my craving. The carnitas were also OK. Nothing super exciting. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here for food but wouldn't be offended to have it again. I appreciated that it's also a small store which sells a variety of meats with some decent sales. Spices and a small amount of fresh produce. Customer service was pleasant and efficient.

I was told "Not really" but I could always go to the main desk and request someone to assist me with checkout. Because it's the beginning of the school year, traffic patterns are changing and occasionally they get short staffed. I felt very reassured that a staff member working there truly cared about what had happened to me, was willing to apologize and could suggest a work around for next time. I would revise my rating of the store upward based on today's encounter. It was nice to be seen as a human being and a familiar customer and not just a cog in the money machine that wouldn't fit.
