The store uses those electronic price tags. The price tags will indicate one price, but the item scans at a higher price at check-out. Again, this has happened to me twice in the past two months. For example, a pack of 8 tortillas was listed as $3.99 on the electronic price tag, but scanned at the register as $6.99. As I sat and thought about it, if this is a store scam against customers, then it is the perfect store for doing so, since many of its customers are elderly. Two more things I need to point out: 1) Another customer had the same pricing issue, and 2) The 'customer watcher' at the self check-out comes right over and makes the price change with no questions asked. It's flaky as hell, and I advise everyone to do an experiment by taking pictures of the price tags before going to the check-out.
