Jarrito
Sari S.

We ordered a cocktail called Jarrito with Mezcal. Hum... it tasted like water with a tiny tiny splash of Mezcal. We also had shrimp tacos and shrimp/conch ceviches. Tacos were good, not great. Salsa was requested but tasteless. Ceviches was okay; nothing special. Chips were bad.

Had an excellent meal at Alberto's. Good service and good prices. Very nice sunset on beach. We were able to use credit card contrary to some other comments. No additional junk fees added either. Restaurant is super casual. Only thing we didn't like was the music was extremely loud and not our type. Menu prices increased so added menu pic but still very reasonable.

This is such a fun little place! We were staying at the resort next door and ended up walking here 3 of the nights we were there! They have a live band most nights, it seems, and fun music playing when they don't. We tried the "Lobster for Two" the first night, along with guacamole, & shrimp ceviche. All were great. The drinks are also good! They have a good selection to choose from! The next visit we both had fish tacos (no pico on mine) and more guacamole, and the last night I had the fish tacos again and he had the shrimp fajitas. All of it was great! The service was good, too. Johnathan made sure we had everything we needed! Next time we are in Cozumel, we'll definitely be back! I suggest making a reservation ahead of time if you have a larger party. If it's raining, seating will be limited because most of the tables are not covered. It is very casual, so feel free to come straight from the beach! Oh, and the sunsets there are beautiful!

My husband and I ate here two days in a row the food is incredible and the service is over the top. The owner himself sat with us for a bit he is a very nice gentleman and very easy on the eyes ladies wink wink. Will definitely come back when we visit next time.

Note: they recently changed location, to a small spot next to Fat Tuesday. Still on the main city…read morepark, close to center of the port area. Drinks: delicious! We tried a few of their mixed drinks, all are absolutely delicious, well made with quality ingredients. $10-$15 per drink is not cheap for Mexico, but this is a touristy town and the shitty cruise bars are all expensive. What we like the most is their mezcal quality and variety , which is what we came for. They have more "in the back" somewhere since the bar is really small. Food: meh. Not fresh nor exciting. Don't bother. Ambience: this is a really small area, 2 tables and a bar sitting. At max 10-12 people elbow to elbow. Cool decorations though, not at all touristy and "cheap" like most of Cozumel bar scene. We really enjoyed our visit. Service: we came on a Friday early afternoon and there was only one other tourist group. The bartender was great! Really young (20 yo!!!!), but apparently he has been doing the job for more than 5 years. (I guess the legal drinking age in Mexico is just a suggestion) Overall this was one of the highlight of our visit. Will come back here again if we are ever in the area.

What a treat. Stopped in on my last night in Cozumel and…read morewas very impressed with the sophistication of it considering it's so close to the Malecon. The selection of agave based liquor was immense and Israel was a wealth of knowledge. I tried at least 8 different agave products. Unfortunately we had eaten before we came but did try the traditional snacks (I.e, bugs) with guacamole and the coconut ice cream which was amazing.

The servers here are friendly and it's a great location on the melgar, but I was so sick after…read moreeating the seafood nachos last night I thought I may have to go to the hospital. I know it was the nachos because my husband and I ate the same things yesterday with the exception of the imitation crab on the nachos. When they sat them down and I saw it was imitation crab I was disappointed but it was late and I was hungry. My husband ate maybe a few bites and he picked the imitation crab off. He said the nachos tasted disgusting to him. We went back to our room, and about 3 hours later I woke up and immediately started projectile vomiting. I spent most of the night in the bathroom feeling like I was going to die. I thought the imitation crab tasted a little off, but just chalked it up to being different than what I'm used to in the states. Big MISTAKE. I've managed to slow down in the vomiting and trips to the bathroom but I still feel awful. Nauseated, headache (probably from dehydration), stomach pain and back pain....I assume that's from how hard I was retching. We will never go back. Food poisoning is not something I give any additional chances for. If you've had it, you understand.

I sat outside and enjoyed hanging out right on the sidewalk. They also served some nacho chips that tasted really fresh. Service was great and I'd come back again.
