I wish I could rate this dating service a zero star. spent a ton of money after being enticed with nice photos and descriptions of women who looked compatible. Ended up never even getting in contact with any of the candidates after paying membership fee so I had no way of knowing if any of their posted candidates were even real. Was told the women weren't interested in me. Then years later they had the nerve to contact me again requesting me to join again with ridiculous membership fee of $8,500! I spoke with three different people at this company. Not only do that not have a single point of contact when arrange for you to meet their "matchmaker" it has a very call center feel to the way they approach the conversation. I was asked to go into their office to meet with a matchmaker professional for the initial screen but when I asked for more information I was told that she couldn't quote me over the phone because of the variety of packages available based on my needs. So basically a super protective sales pitch... Similar to the "free" passes at a gym you need to go in and spend hours int heir facility while they try to convince you to sign up. When I explained that I had already spoken with several other matchmakers in the city that were to expensive (Most coming in at about $4000 for 4 months or 10 matches) her response was well we have a variety of options available for people on low budgets. I explained I wasn't willing to spend nearly 4 hours (in transit and consultation) to go to their office which isn't very conveniently located if it was going to be super expensive and would prefer to discuss my needs and pricing over the phone. What I got was, "You are obviously not open minded enough to meet our clients so I don;t think you should bother coming in". This company is so highly focused on the sales pitch and getting people to come in and sign up that they don;t put their potential clients first and are rude if you aren't interested in coming in to listen to more of a sales pitch. I would avoid these guys and find real professionals or just keep on with online dating since at least you don't have to deal with an aggressive sales tactic. read more

Very disappointing. I had better luck with internet dating on my own, definitely more responsive men (willing to talk, then meet) than I have had here. That is saying something. Two of the introductions were to men that said things that alarmed me. Specifically: living with drug addicts, bragging about repeated reckless driving (200 plus km on the Deerfoot) and marriage for citizenship. Basically a very expensive booty call service. Not for those looking for a serious or healthy relationship. That is if you can get them to match you to anyone (no consideration for values or interests). False Pretences Description: Went to meet with them in Sept 2017. They gave me the long talk about how many single guys there are in Calgary waiting to meet single women my age. I reluctantly decided to join them at a cost of $2000. They take monthly payments out. I have emailed them a few times wondering when i was going to meet a man. They kept saying that they are working on it and there were not many men in my age group matching what i was looking for. October 27, they said they found one match for me. His name was Reg. Well he called me and I knew from our conversation that I was not interested in meeting him so I did not. (I wonder if that counts for one of 8 chances they gave me in two years......)They know exactly what I am looking for based on their compatibility notes and he was not even close. I keep emailing Laura to ask her what is happening and she keeps making excuses about why I haven't met anyone yet. I feel that they are just taking my money and not providing me with a service I paid for. I want to get my money back and cancel this contract which to me is a farce. They led me to believe that there were many single guys out there my age that were too busy to meet women other than using their services..... Upon reading their reviews on Yelp, no one is happy with them, yet they continue to operate. I don't understand them. They gave me a contract for two years with the promise of me meeting 8 men. Unfortunately I am among the ones who was deceived by these professional lairs. As the others mentioned their policy is NOT giving any information to take you to their office and talk with you for hours and hours till they convince you to sign a contract and pay for it. (I signed it on 21 Nov 2016) Then you won't hear from them and even if you keep calling or emailing them what you might get is as following: 1. "We are currently waiting on your Background check. Sometimes it can take a bit more time. As soon as it comes in, I will send you an email to activate your account." (19 Dec 2016) 2. "We are actively working on your first introduction. Since the membership changes daily we are always looking at new possibilities for you. I know how frustrating it can be when you are waiting for your next referral but it is better to have quality instead of quantity." (7 Feb 2017) That's all I could get so far. Scam on so many levels. They indicate they have this complex matching system... yet of the handful of girls i met.. had almost nothing in common or compatible with any of them.. heck two of them were still technically married (even though i stressed no 'separated' in my profile).. none of the dates i had lasted more than an hour (that is how un-compatible we were.. cause if have longer conversations with absolute strangers). A few of my 'contacts' also kept screwing me around.. after three months of trying to arrange a first date.. still no date.. so i complained to the company about it - and they gave me a new contact.. but of course the no-show one still counted against my contacts.. this happened 3 times. So out of 10 'contacts' i met 7... and not a single one went to a 2nd date... and most of them didnt even last an hour.. and seeing these people were suppose to be hand-picked to match my personality and interests.. i find it nigh impossible. i paid good $5,000 Membership fee after which I waited and waited. the only two introductions I received were from men who were already dating other women! a year later I started raising some fuss, requesting a refund. This was not met by any degree of cooperation. Instead, several months later I received an introduction from a man that looked promising. We actually had a date and another and another. And then I found out that he only moved from his wife's basement 3 days (!!!) before the introduction. He and his wife didn't even start to discuss their divorce, let alone any parenting arrangements for their 3 kids ( one of them severely disabled), or finances. As a matter of fact, him and his wife still had a family vacation planned about a month after I met him! I was to be his mistress, not a potential full time partner, and this is how I got treated. Nice gifts, expensive dinners, but barely any time, as he was still going to his wife's on a daily basis, spending weekend taking care of their disabled son and generally being unavailable. I went there for a free consultation. The consultant was extremely rude on her approaching when I refused to become a member. I agree completely with the others reviews. The Alberta Matchmakers has an aggressive sales pitch with the price coming down as it became obvious I wasn't buying. The consultant asked me private questions related to my banking account and financial situation. She kicked me off from the office asa I said that I wouldn't make a decision right away. They really don't deserve a single star. They have no help to offer - no viable contacts at all. I got a single referral for my $7000 who was a man who told me on our one coffee date that he had significant mental health troubles. After many more months, it became clear that that was the only referral I would be getting. I requested a refund and told that someone in "management" would respond, but no one ever did, and they ultimately just quit responding at all. If they had any legitimate people to refer, one would expect that my dissatisfaction would have prompted them to try to satisfy my concerns with referrals. Over promise and as soon as they get your money no proper customer service the sales person did over sell and was not honest - two days later i try to contact and complain been waiting 6 weeks for manager response - no contact yet make sure you take the information and go back call the client services number and ask the questions directly to confirm what the sales person said because you will find out it is not true - dont spend dollars until you double check - i never thought a sales person can be deliberately mis-representing facts to that extent read more

Decided i would pay a deposit for there services, this is when it all went downhill i had some things change in my situation and could no longer continue with there service, i tried contacting them for 4 days before i spoke with a person. I think i spoke to several different people during my experience. When i told them i was not continuing with there service the attitude of the lady was terrible i work in customer service and if i had that attitude to people i would be fired. This matchmaking service seems to operate under several different names, which include: elove; Alberta Matchmakers; Calgary Professional Singles; Quality Singles; and possibly more... DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! Allow me to explain how the process works: When you go to one of their many websites, you'll fill out an application online, which is actually a lead form for them. They supposedly "qualify" you and then call you back. They invite you to meet with someone face to face. Then they proceed to use a high-pressure sales pitch (she had me there for FOUR HOURS) and they play on your emotions. When they finally get around to presenting you with the costs, they are absolutely outrageous (starting at a few thousand up to TEN thousand dollars!). I was a dummy and got suckered into it and have had nothing but regret ever since. Unfortunately once they have you in a contract, there's not much you can do to get out of it, so just simply kiss your money goodbye. I paid $2500 for the service with promises of rainbows and unicorns, but in 2 years, they have only sent me 4 matches with none of them being worth my time and certainly not worth $2500. For what it's worth, you're better off on Plenty of Fish. Seriously people. Don't get suckered in like I did. read more
