If you do and you take the bold step on hiring someone you may not ever see the job finished (or started). It's infuriating! Wow is different. It really is. From start to finish the coordinator and all the employees were polite, punctual and professional. The first job (a deck) was done so well I hired them again for an interior space. Until I was satisfied. That was the original promise and that's what they delivered. Trust WOW. Seriously.

Hiring SertaPro Painters was a huge mistake. They rushed the job from day one--my neighbors even…read moresaw them painting a second coat over a wet first coat just to finish faster. The interior of my one-car garage only got one coat, full of missed spots, and I still paid $1,000 for patchy, low-quality work. The exterior is even worse. Within a year the paint bubbled, likely because they didn't let it cure before it rained. Their "fix" was sanding and spot-painting, which left my aluminum siding with bare, textureless patches and obvious mismatched paint. After more rain, new bubbles appeared. They now blame "moisture behind the siding" and refuse to repaint properly--only offering more patch jobs. Their warranty is worthless, and their communication is terrible. I've had to chase them down every single time; they never call back first. Most recently, they came on Sept. 23rd and said I'd hear from them in a day or two. It's now Sept. 29th, and nothing. The end result: a patchy, mismatched house, endless follow-ups, and no accountability. I'm now speaking with other painting companys and pursuing legal action to recover my money. Do not hire SertaPro Painters. The warranty is a joke, the work is sloppy, and the customer service is nonexistent.

Jed Johnson answered my request for a proposal promptly, met with me at the project site soon after we connected, and sent me a cost proposal when he said I could expect it. While reviewing my project on site, he offered great advice regarding colors, types of paint for various applications, etc. After contracting with Ashlar Painting, Jed kept me informed every step of the way throughout the project and never missed a completion date on the schedule. The workmanship was top notch. Such high praise for a contractor does not come readily from me. Over a 35 year career as an architect and facilities manager, I have dealt with an incredible number of contractors for both small projects (like mine) and for multi-million dollar projects. We are…read moreextremely pleased with the look of our home, as well as the craftsmanship and detail of the work that Jed Johnson (owner), and his crew performed. The prep work that was done was exceptional. Jed Johnson is also experienced in construction, as well as working with design builders. His understanding of how a home is constructed makes for a higher caliber of painting professional. Jed was able to help preserve the exterior wood trim, and added additional weatherproofing to our shutters and gables. Home has been caulked to the Nth degree. Most downspouts and all the shutters were removed in order to paint the underlying wood trim. Then as the shutters and downspouts were replaced, the screw holes were caulked for further waterproofing. The wood trim was back brushed, which makes for a smoother and thicker coating of paint, which also will last much longer than sprayed on. Jed and his crew went the extra mile on everything. Jed found several areas where leaks could potentially cause problems and made repairs. For the first time in the history of our home- it is now watertight. The crew was very professional, courteous and hardworking. The guys worked just as hard and consistently even when Jed was not on-site. The estimate for our home was much more reasonable than the bids I had gotten from other contractors. Painting was completed in a timely fashion, when the weather permitted. I highly recommend Ashlar Painting and Building services. Our home now looks better than it did when it was new.
