An oasis outside of Rome! This beach does not come up on any maps yet the locals say it's historic! The drive from Rome was about an hour and 15 mins. It's hard to find this beach or others because the coast is like the Pacific where you park on the street and take steps down the side of the cliff to get to the beach. The public beaches in Italy are very crowded the beaches with a clubhouse/restaurant own the rights and rent out umbrellas and beach chairs to their own private beaches which are super clean and family friendly. The city of Anzio reminded me a little of La Jolla the beach at Lido Garda was beautiful nice sandy beach, crystal clear shallow ocean, and warm which was a surprise to Miamians! The restaurant served sandwiches, seafood, ice cream, and cold drinks. Simply a Beautiful beach! read more
