It's as if the building is stuck in time (maybe 1970's/80's). The staff is decent and I've come across a few at our stay. This is Italy, but it would be helpful if they knew some basic English or other languages for the tourists. The rooms are a little small and the beds...oh boy, the beds are extremely uncomfortable. I've never been locked up, but I'd imagine these are the same beds they give prisoners. Our rooms toilet doesn't always flush and is extremely loud. The food is ok, seems reasonably fresh and coffee is made to order. OK, the good stuff now. The hotel wifi is absolutely awesome!! This is the main reason why I'm giving it 2 stars. Good internet service isn't always a given when traveling internationally, so I was pleased with hi-speed internet. Another good thing is the hot water in the bathroom (it's the small things when nearly everything else is subpar). This hotel also has beach access. It's hard to find this beach or others because the coast is like the Pacific where you park on the street and take steps down the side of the cliff to get to the beach. The public beaches in Italy are very crowded the beaches with a clubhouse/restaurant own the rights and rent out umbrellas and beach chairs to their own private beaches which are super clean and family friendly. The city of Anzio reminded me a little of La Jolla the beach at Lido Garda was beautiful nice sandy beach, crystal clear shallow ocean, and warm which was a surprise to Miamians! The restaurant served sandwiches, seafood, ice cream, and cold drinks. Simply a Beautiful beach!

My husband I ended…read moreup in Nettuno around 9pm on a Sunday night under the impression we would be able to get a cab to take us to this hotel for the evening... whoops were we wrong! Thankfully the owner drove to the train station to pick us up when it clearly wasn't his responsibility. The hotel is basic and about 15 mins from the city center, but they do have a bar and a coffeshop downstairs. Rooms were large, clean and the bathrooms were large (woo)!! If you need a place to stay for the evening before you go to port, this might be an option if you have your own transport. Otherwise there is a bus stop in the front that comes through every few hours and will drop you off by the train station.
