Our room was extremely well constructed and very clean. The view amazing and the breakfast buffet at Albergo was always fresh and we'll stocked even during peak times, never had to wait for a desirable table either. Nice bar off lobby and large restaurant on site. Also walking distance from ferry on Lake Como, fine dining, casual restaurants and gelato. Sports bar also close and beautiful walking path along the lake. We were on our honeymoon and highly suggest recommend this property.

My wife and I were married in Lake Como on June 29th. Our reception was held at Lido Di Lenno. We…read morearrived by boat from the wedding, although it is possible to walk to it from the street. When we stepped off the boat, there was a grassy area where the staff had hors d'oeuvres set up at a long table with a white tablecloth. There were cute little white wicker furniture sets with tables so the guests could mingle, take pictures, sip Prosecco and look out at the lake. When it was time for dinner, we moved from the grassy area to our tables, which were positioned perpendicular to the lake so everyone had a great view. The dinner was in the marquee - a permanent outdoor area with tile flooring covered by a big white tent. We had the garden half of the marquee to ourselves, so our seating area was adjacent to the grassy garden area where the hors d'oeuvres were served. The sides of the marquee were able to be closed independently so that as the sun was setting, strategic flaps were folded down to prevent the sun from annoying people as they ate while still letting a breeze into the marquee. The champagne was poured just before we were seated, and we had enough of it for everyone's toasts. After the champagne, there was red and white wine for the table. The antipasti we chose was the smoked salmon. It was a huge dish of thinly sliced salmon perfectly smoked and beautifully presented. The primi piatti we selected was a pasta with prawns. The pasta was cooked al dente and the prawns were very light and fresh. The secondi piatti was the beef limousine and vegetables. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare with a pink center and was very tender and juicy. Nothing about our wedding was conventional and we stayed true to that with dessert. Instead of a wedding cake, we selected a special dessert. With a wedding party of 32, there will always be a dish that someone doesn't care for because maybe they don't eat fish or they don't eat meat. But EVERYONE LOVED the chocolate fondue. They brought huge dishes of fruit with skewers and bowls of melted dark chocolate. The staff also brought out espresso. It was the perfect ending to a great meal. We had the area under the tent (the marquee) for as long as we wanted. But after dinner and drinks and long day, some people began to go back to the hotel. We stayed at the Albergo Lenno, which was less than a mile around the lake. It is a beautiful walk and very doable, especially since there are gelateria's along the way. But we also rented a bus for those in need of assistance for one reason or another. Inside the bar area was a dance floor and a local DJ (that we did not have to pay for) who played a great selection of popular songs that you would hear off the radio at home. We danced into the night with the locals and had a blast. They closed around 2am. It is also worth noting that on the other side of the dance floor is a large opening to a beach area. This was a large area with sand and lounge chairs. The kids loved playing in the sand in their wedding clothes .

Being here is a whole experience one must have while in Italy! My girlfriend and I came on a 10 day trip and stayed our last 3 days by Lake Como, we made a last minute reservation and took a train over and were amazed by the experience and food. The best meal we had on our trip by far. Try their wines, desserts are amazing. Man we are coming back again next Italy trip, might have to come to Italy just to experience Ristorante il Crotto.

WeddingBox - Villa Balbianello on Lake Como, Italy

I really wish I had more positive things to say about our experience with WeddingBox, but the…read moreoverarching feeling we are left with is disappointment. It is overwhelming to plan a wedding, let alone an international wedding, but unfortunately we quickly lost trust in our planner. There were several instances where she told us that we had to use a specific vendor because of our venue, only for us to find out from other brides using the same venue that they were told differently by their planners. Our planner was very disorganized, asking the same questions over and over that had already been answered, and not keeping our wedding portal notes updated. They also provided a vendor list for photo, video, and MUA, but when I sourced outside of their recommendations, our planner said I needed to coordinate with them since I booked them even though our contract was for full coordination from start to finish. She also made a big deal out of us waiting to pay until she could send us a compiled vendor list with payment info and outstanding balances for each vendor, which when she did send, had the incorrect amounts, so when we wired money, she said we needed to pay more, which ended up costing us even more money in fees to send additional wires. Really poor attention to detail, lack of urgency, and extremely disorganized. Lastly, our biggest issue was that our planner booked the boat transportation for our guests and despite me asking multiple times, she did not get a contract and said it was not necessary. On the day of our wedding, only one boat showed up (there should have been 5) and the boat that did show up was 30 minutes late. Because there was only one boat to transport us and our guests, our wedding started 2 hours late and we had to cut our cocktail hour, our ceremony, our reception, literally everything. We were so incredibly stressed and the main planner was avoiding us the whole time at the venue. Then they told us we would be getting a full refund from that boat company so they cancelled them (without consulting us) and brought us a bill for another boat company to bring our guests back after the wedding, which we paid thinking we would at least get our money back from the other boats. They also offered to extend our wedding if we could give them 3000 euro IN CASH and offered to drive "us and some of our guests" to the nearest ATM to take out cash for them. We were really appalled at this suggestion and did not accept. The icing on the cake is now that the wedding is over, not only did we NOT get a refund from the boat company, WeddingBox (the owner) said that they did everything right and are now ghosting us when we asked for help with how to handle the situation. We are extremely disappointed in how everything was handled and just want to save other brides from having to deal with anything like this. In the end our wedding was beautiful, but it is just incredibly disappointing to put your trust in a company and have them not take any accountability, provide an apology, and then completely ignore your asks for help. There were so many other little things that we feel they could have handled differently, book them at your own risk.

From start to finish, our wedding day was a dream. We had the pleasure of working with Zaira and…read moreSally, and they made sure every single detail of our wedding went off without a hitch. We considered several wedding planning companies to help us out in our long-distance planning all the way from Colorado, USA. Ultimately, we took a trip to Como to look at some venues and meet with wedding planners. WeddingBox totally sealed the deal. We fell in love with Zaira as a person - she is honest, charismatic, genuinely excited by her work, and the overall package for the very reasonable cost came out on top. One of my favorite moments from the wedding happened when I realized we were over an hour behind schedule because our pictures took longer than expected. I turned to Sally and asked if we were ruining the dinner plans, and she shrugged endearingly and said in her British accent, "What do you mean? We will eat when we are ready to eat! The chefs are gladly waiting to start cooking when you arrive." I felt zero pressure the entire day - and I don't think many brides get to say that. It could be that lovely Italian pace and vibe, but more likely, it's the high quality of help you get when you choose WeddingBox.

You have to take the tram up the mountain that cost 5.50 euros roundtrip. The service at Trattoria Dei Bracconieri Ristorante Bar was excellent. We were greeted by Aldo and others that made us feel very welcome. We were lucky to find a table outside to have our lunch. I ordered the Bolognese and my girlfriend ordered the risotto with truffles and porcini mushrooms. It was all delicious. We both cleaned our plates and ate all the complementary bread. Lastly, for desert we had the panacotta with berries. This place is a hidden gem in Lake Como. We definitely recommend this place for first timers.

We came to this place for a birthday lunch. I emailed them a week prior to reserve a table outside…read more(as this place was selected specifically for its views) but got zero reply. Ok well... came anyway. First things first, while this place does offer great views on lake Como and the towns, it is not the only place in Brunate with this characteristic, and there are at least a couple more options that seem to be more or less the same level. The food here is quite good, although not exceptional. And I would argue that it is overpriced for a trattoria in a small (albeit a resort) town. We spent ~100 euro for 2 adults and a kid, without wine. The service is underwhelming to say the least. As mentioned, I contacted this place well in advance and received zero reaction, which - I think - is hardly acceptable in XXI century if you care about your business and reputation. We got a seat inside, it was noisy and crowded, the locals and larger parties were treated way friendlier and had to wait significantly less than we did (an experience that is, unfortunately, not unique to this place only in Northern Italy). All this did not boost our enthusiasm about this place. The manager (owner?) of this place was plain rude initially when I asked for a table outside (on the terrace which was empty but for one table at the time anyway). Eventually, seeing how disappointed we were they did give us a table there (which saved the situation to some extent). Still, I think a somewhat friendlier attitude to foreign tourists could not hurt this place. All up, 2 stars for this kind of experience.
