Seeing the outdoor bed and the outdoor shower on the balcony made me absolutely speechless. Silence between he and I as we took in all of the amenities. We looked at each other with raised eyebrows. Yes, we were going to enjoy this space. It's certainly very Italian. Our floor was completely tiled in blue and yellow ceramic and the balcony made of terracotta. It felt very old world. It did feel "busy" with all of the patterns compared to what most American's probably are used to. While I wouldn't live with it in my home in America, I absolutely loved it and embraced it in Italy. It felt palatial and I loved waking up to that every day that I stayed. LOVED the bathroom. With a huge sliding glass door that also opened to the balcony, I could soak in the 6x4 ft tub as I overlooked the Napoli coastline. A tub that was made completely of glass on one side. Yes, this was a hotel room made for lovers. Despite having been to the Amalfi Coast three times now, I'm still dying to go back. And of course, I would book my stay again at La Tonnarella in room 24. I wasn't there even 20 minutes before I was sprawled out on the balcony in a bathing suit with a mischievous grin on my face.

Best part of Sorrento is A39. This is a small (new) boutique hotel in the heart of the city. What should you expect staying here? Impeccable lodgings at a very reasonable price with a private chef in the morning for your free breakfast buffet. Best of all they have a Bluetooth speaker in each room for those of you who love some tunes during your travels. Interestingly this was the only hotel with this feature we stayed at during our 2.5 week trip through Greece and Italy.

WiFi only worked in the lobby, which when you're from the US and only have WiFi to communicate with people, that can be a little annoying. Our breakfast was juices, cereal, a croissant and a roll. Nothing fancy. The rooms were decent. I had to move my bunk bed because the AC was dripping on my pillow all night. I had to get a new one from the desk which was a little hassle but eventually got it sorted out. The bathroom wasn't super clean but it was sufficient for a 3 night stay. Definitely would try to find somewhere else if you can but this would be a good (and cheap?) place if you're desperate. It was about a 15 minute walk to the strip where's there's food and night life so it was a decent walk but not too bad. Definitely would not come and stay here for a vacation. This is more of a stop along the road place to get a nights sleep and to keep moving.

We had dinner at the hotel and it was wonderful. The service again, outstanding. The next day we called down to ask what time our included breakfast was served. They said 10 o'clock and it was 10:15. Yet, for free, they ran up fresh coffee with steamed milk, croissants and jams!! Nobody has service like this anymore! The views outside the rooms are beautiful as well. The heart and soul of our exceptional experience was the incredible Hotel Manager, Graziana. Though we only met her once upon arrival, her presence was felt throughout our stay as she masterfully orchestrated an unforgettable experience for us. She was the epitome of helpful and accommodating, anticipating our every need with an uncanny intuition. Graziana provided invaluable recommendations, guiding us on how to best utilize our limited time and navigate the area like locals, considering logistics and our lack of local knowledge. She even got us the room upgrade I requested for the last minute! My special request for a bouquet of flowers and fresh Sorrento lemons for my wife to celebrate our anniversary was executed flawlessly, creating a truly magical moment. And on our final morning, knowing we had an early departure, Graziana had arranged for a delicious breakfast to-go - a thoughtful gesture that was so appreciated. Working diligently behind the scenes with Graziana was the ever-charming Antonino. He was a constant friendly face, always incredibly helpful, welcoming, and looking remarkably dapper, especially with his stylish blue suede loafers! Antonino played a key role in coordinating all the wonderful touches that made our stay so special. Beyond the exceptional individuals, the Hotel Belair itself is a jewel. It's undeniably beautiful and fancy, yet it exudes a comforting, home-like ambiance that allowed us to relax completely. The entire property was exceptionally clean, a testament to their high standards. The service across the board was simply phenomenal. While no hotel is perfect, the dedicated staff at Hotel Belair made it feel perfect. Need something? A quick call and it was promptly delivered (Thank you Olga for the fan). It was the thoughtful little things that truly resonated: the custom card delivered each evening with the next day's weather forecast, or the almost magical moment when staff noticed us taking a brief cover from a light rain by the entrance and appeared with umbrellas, without us even uttering a word (we still don't know how they saw us!). The hotel restaurant manager Francesco was wonderfully nice and hospitable, contributing to an incredible overall dining experience. Even the bartender by the pool Luca elevated our relaxation, proactively bringing us delightful beverages as we were just settling in to chill by the poolside. You might think, "Well, this is what 5-star hotel staff are supposed to do; it's their job." But I can assure you, having stayed in other luxury hotels, the service at Hotel Belair is on an entirely different plane of existence.
