Make sure you listen to their website when it says to pack light, you really do have to climb up a lot of stairs to get to your room that are very narrow and it is pretty much impossible to do if you have a large suitcase.

The Albergo Milano is located right in the old town and up. It looks very romantic and complete with killer views from the balcony.

Our room is very clean with fresh linens and filled with all the supplies that we need. They also gave us complimentary water bottles, coffee, and some snacks. The best part was eating breakfast while watching the sun rise from their panoramic windows at their restaurant. Very peaceful and pleasant to sit down and eat or drink at their bar and take pictures outside. We choose Villa Cipressi because it was closer. It was very gorgeous, we took plenty of photos, enjoyed beautiful lake view seating in a nice shade. Walk from ferry its very simple but its uphill so bring water with you. We went in September and still it was very hot and sunny. There is not so much shade there either. Also you can hike to Castello di Vezio to get beautiful view of the village but be aware it's very steep. It takes around 40 minutes. Also while walking you will see beautiful narrow streets, water views , little church and small stores & restaurants. After that we hoped on other ferry to go to Menaggio. You can visit all of these places within a 1 day like we did.

This is the stop you want to reach the ferry to Bellagio which is just across the lake. Inside the…read morestation is a small bar that seems to be where some locals hang out and has all the beverages you could want (coffee, beer, cocktail, cola) and a few snacks. [Just fyi, to reach the ferry, walk down the hill, take the steps to the right, walk toward the lake and turn left. You can't miss the ticket office. To visit Varenna (which is lovely) continue past the boat ramp, follow the waterside walkway and take a Contrada up to the main square or stay on the waterside to enjoy the shops and cafes there.] The train station is older and has 2 tracks. We take the regional train from Milan which returns on track#2. If you get to the station early there is a small indoor waiting area off the main platform with seats and arrivals board, or sit outside on the few benches available there. You could also enjoy a beverage in the bar but we aware: the bathroom, located in a separate building, is not a place for a lady. Bring your own TP and sanitary hand wipes and be prepared to hover. Honestly, the train bathroom is a better choice.
