The woman working the cash register pointed (vaguely) at the cleaning station. After walking around a little bit I found it. I cleaned up the mess, but it took me 4 trips walking back and forth to get more paper towels and throwing away the dirty ones. I had to do this one handed-while holding both dogs. The cashier sat there chatting with a customer while they watched me cleaning, seeing me struggling to do all this one handed. No employees anywhere. I REALLY could have used someone's help, just to hold my dogs leashes so i could at least use both hands. Then when I finished cleaning I walked over and she started the return. She had difficulty doing the return so called for help. Then there were a total 4 employees that came out of nowhere. If you are looking for common fish, strange fish, pretty fish, random large fish, pond fish, or a place to trade your fish, then look no further!!! I got a rare banjo catfish and some skunk cories here for a fantastic trade, for some of my fish that weren't compatible in my tank. Dorothy has lots of knowledge on how to care for fish, and will willingly tell you about any fish in the shop if you ask. Also, it is a family business so her son sells other things in another part of the shop -- keep small businesses alive and visit this awesome little fish shop today, talk with Dorothy and gain some knowledge, and perhaps leave with a few fish. :)

I have no experience, so I came here for help and everyone was so welcoming and offered assistance right away. A groomer got the tick off easily and they were not only happy to help, they were also so excited to see him. When I spotted a sign with a paw print in the distance, I made a beeline for it. (Side note: I'm a proud owner of a Belgian Malinois, Boston Terrier/Shih-Tzu, and Calico so I get a little crazy over independently owned pet stores because I love shopping locally when I can.) We didn't get the owner's name, but he was incredibly helpful and talked to us about his own experience with dogs with ACL problems (like our Belgian Malinois) and his future plans with Hugga Mugga's. They've been open for about a month and a half. He even gave us a free sample of joint treats for our pup! After browsing around for a bit we ended up buying a dog toy and a birthday cookie. Hugga Mugga's sells top quality products that you won't find at your local PetSmart or Petco. I'm excited to see the growth of this store and anticipate great things. Definitely a place to stop in if you're a pet owner and happen to be in Thomasville!
