Professional and Reliable Property Management I have been…read moreworking with The Cal Agents since 2025 to manage my house rental in the Bay Area, and it has been a consistently positive experience. Key Highlights: 1. Exceptional Team: I've had the pleasure of working with Wilsen, Ahyeza, Chris, Patricia, Jana, Fiona, Nikki, and Ramiro. They are professional, attentive, and easy to collaborate with. 2. Problem Solvers: One of their greatest strengths is that they never shy away from a hard problem. Whether it's a maintenance issue or a tenant concern, they tackle it head-on with a level of responsiveness that is hard to find. 3. Trusted Partnership: When you are looking for a partner to manage an investment property, creating an empathetic and caring relationship with the tenants is the most important factor. They have proven themselves to be reliable stewards of my property. Pro-Tip for Owners: Because they manage a diverse portfolio of both condos and houses, I found that providing clear context on my specific expectations for house-level marketing and maintenance from the start created a great feedback loop. Their receptiveness to this high level of communication is exactly why our partnership works so well; it ensures everyone is aligned from day one. Overall: If you need a team that is responsive and capable of handling the complexities of the Bay Area rental market, I highly recommend The Cal Agents.

I spoke to one agent, then made an appointment to have calls with others. The Cal Agents called me, and in less than a minute I realized it was someone from a Philippine call center. What a slap in the face. Outsourcing is a hot button issue, and I will NEVER share personal information with someone overseas, but also: WHY? Are they too busy for a two minute call to make that connection? Introduce themselves? Answer relevant questions? And perhaps MOST CLOYING: is this the same company that employs those same call centers to make masked cold calls asking to buy our property? HARD PASS.

Sarah is incredibly knowledgeable about both home construction and the East Bay market. While touring homes, she walked us through every inch and provided assessments comparable to professional inspectors we've worked with. In the rare moments when she wasn't 100% sure about something, she brought in her husband Nick (who has decades of construction experience and now specializes in home inspections) to provide a second opinion. After only a few tours, we felt like we'd gotten a thorough education in home construction and maintenance, which we especially appreciated as first-time buyers. One of the things we appreciated most was that we never felt pressured to make an offer. Sarah proactively pointed out potential issues, including things we never would have noticed ourselves. She was completely transparent about the real costs of addressing less obvious but major problems, even when it meant we'd end up passing on a home. Sarah also has deep relationships throughout the East Bay real estate and contractor community. She connected us with great lenders, inspectors, and contractors. Her rapport with other realtors was equally valuable. Leading up to the offer deadline, Sarah maintained continuous, proactive communication with the listing agent. We truly believe her persistence and advocating for us made a huge difference in the seller choosing us despite other competitive offers. Beyond her expertise, Sarah is simply an amazing person - empathetic, fun to be around, and genuinely invested in her clients. Even after closing, she's continued to be an invaluable resource as we navigate all the questions that come with being new homeowners. We're so grateful to have met Sarah and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, trustworthy, and all-around wonderful realtor.

They agreed to meet me while I visited in June to do reconnaissance, and we had a very cordial discussion about what I was seeking, and when. When I arrived in Berkeley in late August, I had already sent them examples of homes that interested me, and we had an email/phone dialog to help adjust my expectations and focus me on areas and types of homes that made sense, given my tastes and resources. We started working together on the ground in late August, and I made an offer on a home that stood out from all others by early September. Sarah and Ellie continued to guide me through the purchase and closing process, as well as identifying issues with the property that needed to be addressed in advance. Sarah has an excellent network. What I feel stands out about Sarah and Ellie are the following: - They love what they do - They are skilled in taking in their clients' needs and preferences, and tempering that with basic realities about the Bay Area housing market, both in general, and at any particular time or set of circumstances - They have long, deep experience in the East Bay - the houses, catching areas of concern, the history of the neighborhoods, etc that they leverage in helping their clients to find appropriate homes - They are flexible - my Mom was a realtor, and I was a driver in sending them listings, asking questions, telling them I wanted to see certain properties, etc, and they went with the flow, and even enhanced my experience by being willing to look at other houses we saw for sale that looked interesting on the way to the houses we planned to see - it was not only productive, it was a lot of fun I have now been in my home for 3.5 months, and I could not be happier with where I live, thanks in large part to Sarah, Ellie, and District Homes.

When I decided to sell my home in Sonoma, Alice came to our first meeting with exhaustive research and a clear, actionable plan to get the best price. Even though she was working outside her home county, her preparation was flawless. The results speak for themselves: my home sold within one week. Alice is now helping me find my next home, and she is just as impressive on the buying side--quick with disclosures and comparatives, and always providing sound, honest advice.

Alice isn't the type of agent who tells you what needs to happen and then says, "call me when you get it done." Alice will actually manage the fix-up process for you, which enables you to get your home on the market in a very timely fashion. If you think about it, that makes good business sense for her, too. My family home, as you can imagine, had a lot of emotional meaning for me and let me just say that there was also some family drama. Through it all, Alice showed what a determined AND compassionate person she is. Her team members are also on the ball, and I felt their support the whole way through this first-time selling experience. I'm glad I chose to work with Alice and her team at New Horizon Real Estate and highly recommend them.

THE DIFFERENCE IS ... $900,000!!!…read more On June 2, 2019 I decided to sell my house in Richmond. I was planning on using the realtor that I used to buy my house, and we were going to do minimal cleanup/fixup and list at $650,000. I had spent the last week trying to figure out painters and floor guys with little success. Most did not reply, and the ones who did said they were booked for the next two months. I was frustrated, but determined. I did not know a lot about real estate, but I knew I needed my house on the market before summer ended. I went out with my best friend, Mary, who I have known for 23 years, that night and told her the news! Mary gave me that "Oh, Sasha" look that she has given me since we were 13 years old, and said "Here's what you are going to do. Fire your realtor and go with Don Adamson, and sell your house for more money than you ever could dream of." I said "My realtor is really nice, Mary, what difference does it make anyway?" Mary replied "The difference is everything!!" "Let me show you what MY REALTOR Don did for me and my house!" And she started showing me pictures of her old house magically turned into a million dollar home. "Well, that's YOUR house Mary," I replied, "My house is just an ugly old house" "Just call Don tomorrow," Mary said. So I did. Don came to my house to meet with me the very next day. After listening to my needs, goals, and timeline, he was able to quickly assess what the course of action needed to be. He said "You could use a good painter, flooring person, landscaper, color specialist, staging company, and professional photographer. I can have them all scheduled starting tomorrow if you want." I could not believe the resources and connections Don had. His "team" was fast, reliable, good, and cheaper than my lowest quotes!!! Don felt less like a realtor and more like a guiding father figure. I will never forget sitting in the office with Don, August 6, 2019, just 2 months after meeting him, and negotiating with buyers in our multiple offer situation. We were ready to counter with a whopping $850,000 - when he got a call from another interested buyer and said "They just offered us $900,000!!!!" I felt like we were sitting at the table of a high-stakes negotiation- and we just won- $900,000 !!!

He recently helped us sell our home in El Sobrante. The outcome was terrific, but what we will remember is what a pleasure it was working with Don! First and foremost Don is honest. He never oversold anything, nor did he make promises he could not keep. His advise was always right but he also had the ability to listen and respect our ideas. He was always available to us , answering our calls immediately. His entire team was superb. Better yet, he coordinated them all for us. Just on a another note, Don is a kind and caring person. We most highly recommend him. Call him before any other.. then let him take care of the sale of your property. Bravo Don... job well done!!
