I am lactose intolerant and was worried I would miss out on flavors and tastes, but the team was so accommodating and I got a different dish when needed and it was sooooo good. Thank you!

UPDATE: THE YELP IDIOTS - YES, IDIOTS - HAVE MOVED THIS TO GENOVA. They do have tours there but I…read moreused their local office in PALERMO and Yelp won't put it back in Palermo despite my edit. My friend and I booked the "Palermo Street Food" tour on another website and all went perfectly well. Communication was excellent with reminders beforehand and then a text message the day before with the instructions for the meeting. We (two Americans) arrived a little bit early and the young lady conducting our tour was already waiting. Two other guests (a married Chinese couple) arrived a few minutes early and we were on our way. Well over three hours of walking, eating, drinking and talking. Just four of us with Federica and we stopped at two sit down restaurants and two sit down street food spots. All interesting and lots of cultural information on Palermo along the way. I would really recommend taking this tour early in your visit to Palermo so that you can really get a lay of the land and acclimate to the city for your visit. Arancina, cheeses, fried panino, cannolo, Italian wine, Italian beer and at the end of the tour, I was stuffed. So stuffed that I couldn't even eat the last snack on our final stop. Federica's English was excellent and I learned a lot while eating a lot. It was a fab tour and much fun. (Hey, Yelp people. Please don't merge this with the Genova business. If you do that, people won't find this when they search "food tour Palermo".) [Review 12801 overall, 115 of 2020.]

What a fantastic experience! My wife and I could not have enjoyed ourselves more on this food and…read morewine tour! Sara picked us up from our hotel at 10am with a smile we'd quickly discover was contagious and a passion for the Piedmont region (her home) that only a local could bring. We took a short drive to her friend Frenanda's for the cooking portion of the tour. The quaint neighborhood in the hills, the cozy kitchen and the warmth of our host could best be described as stepping into "Nonna's kitchen". Using all fresh, local ingredients we made: - Hazelnut "Kiss cookies" - Veggie flan - prepped and slow cooked beef with veggies in wine - Chocolate stuffed peaches - ate a variety of seasonal cheeses and honey - and made pasta from scratch (meat stuffed raviolis). Everything was paired with delicious wines which we sipped while learning the local history, including the origins of Nutella, Fiat and Eataly, as well as the farming community that shaped the culture of the region. We at and drank to our hearts desire before saying our goodbye with full stomachs and a goodie bag for later. For our wine portion of the tour, Sara drove us to meet a young, local winemaker named Luca. Luca's enthusiasm for sustainable growing and using "smart techniques" to make his wine brought an unexpected but delightful new-age wine-making vibe to his whole operation. "We have a brain, we have science, we use it." And all the latest advancements in "cork technology"... who knew?... Luca did. Our personal wine tasting went through every variety of wine the Nebbiolo grapes of the region had to offer. The Barolo was our favorite! A very fun, stomach filling day with Sara came complete with great vibes, local stories, and memories we'll never forget!
