Alaura has some of the best ice cream I have ever had! I've never had a flavor I didn't like here. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful. My personal favorite is the cookie butter crunch. The staff keeps the store clean and running efficiently. If it's crowded, you can expect to wait a bit for service, but it's definitely worth it. The staff is friendly and ready to give you the best experience possible. They allow you to taste flavors before you make your final decision. The regular food on the menu is also very good. The frites are my personal favorite. Love this place and I wish there was a location closer to the Atlantic City area! read more

We were in the area Saturday night and was able to stop in. Google says they close at 10:30pm but they really close at 10:00pm. The owner was nice enough to still serve us ice cream. He was very nice and knowledgeable of all his ice cream products. He was super friendly. I got a large cup with 3 flavors to go. princess flavor, funky monkey, and cookie crunch. the boys also loved their ice cream as well. Ice cream and fries were delicious but the staff was unfriendly and rude. When asked "what's your favorite sauce" the lady responded with "I don't know, the ranch." And then when I asked what the "no name" sauce was she said "I don't know they are on the paper" meaning the menu in front of the register. Fresh gourmet ice cream that's made in house in south jersey is unheard of. This place is a gem! The staff is amazing and the ice cream flavors are both unique and on point. I still frequent this place however as of recently the quality has changed, I have noticed that the mix-Ins in the flavors have not been consistent and I've been getting pints that are supposed to be ET special but have no peanut butter or Reese's pieces. I got a cookie butter pint which has been my favorite but there were hardly any cookies in it. I have been here a few times when visiting my family in NJ and it has become a "must-do" for me on any future visits. On my first visit we had the frites (french fries) with various dipping sauces and they were delicious. A second trip made me fall in love with their homemade ice cream. Alaura has such unique flavors, unlike any place I have been before, and they are delicious! Any place that makes homemade ice cream is a step above others in my book, but the taste and quality of Alaura's ice cream for sure makes it one of the best. We stopped in here for some after dinner dessert, specifically due to all the awesome reviews this place gets. I got a scoop of chocolate on a sugar cone, and it was so overly freezer burnt it actually didn't taste like anything except ice. Most of the buckets of ice cream the girls were scooping from had an entire layer of ice on top. Stopped by tonight with the lady for some ice cream. Kind of bummed we were both full from dinner because the open faced ice cream sandwich with Nutella cookies looked so freaking good. But we both got a regular cup 1/2 Peanut Butter Fluff and 1/2 Banana's Foster. Their ice cream is made fresh in house and ridiculously creamy and I'm pretty sure they legit make banana's foster and mash it into the ice cream, it was seriously delicious. Definitely popping in again soon to try the waffles or open face sandwich! Place is nice and small with a bunch of tables to eat inside or out. I was disappointed with my "cookies and cream" ice cream in a waffle cone and my old coo of a wife was extremely upset with her "mint chocolate chip" sugar cone. First off, there's no way I am ever paying five dollars for another ice cream cone ever again. Second, my wife's sugar cone was not even full, not that the ice cream was that great, but I paid for that shit. I highly recommend the ceramics shop down the street though. More importantly, I highly recommend the "Kermit Green" glaze for small ceramic projects including tiles, boxes, and animal figurines. read more

I like the cereal flavored ice creams. It's a good idea. The normal flavors are awesome too. The coffee flavor still stands out in my mind. Had the bananas foster ice cream which was amazing! I got only got whipped cream on top, and to be honest it didn't need anything else. The ice cream is super creamy and decadent. The ice cream was ok. There was a lot of small icicles in it. The hot dogs weren't as amazing as people say. The bun was too big, the hot dog was cold in the middle. The chill's beans were too big. The frites were good, a little over salted. The table was sticky and the floors had dirt and ice cream puddles. There isn't a lot of seating. The bathroom doesn't seemed cleaned regularly. The fact that the owner's family helps out is cute, but you can't help but feel as if no one works there by choice. read more

I live around corner from this place and let me tell you.... their ice cream is to die for!!!!!! Their maple bacon ice cream is out of this world and my other favorite is vanilla and cherrys. They use huge fresh cherries and it's so good. My only complaint is they never seem to be open. Many times wanted to run in after work and they are closed. Also, I believe one night it says closes at 1030 but it was 10. With them always being closed I don't know how will survive as a business but I hope they do because I love their ice cream. read more
