We enjoyed the empanadas, I think for our group of 5 we ordered at least 20 empanadas and 3 plates to try. I asked a man behind the counter I need a order for 2/3 dozen on Sunday around 12pm. He said not a problem, I should call Sunday at 10 to place the order. I asked "are you sure" he responded it would only take 20 minutes. Problem number 1: No one was answering the phone Sunday morning, I called multiple times. Problem number 2: It take forever to place the order via the website AND there is a superfluous "support local fee" that cannot be opted out. I want this refunded. As someone who invited the group to dinner there Wed where we spent at least $150ish to my order for Sunday around $170, how dare a "support local fee" be added that could have been avoided if someone answered the phone. Problem number 3: The order was 30 mins late. Lack of personal awareness regarding your capability to answer phones and prepare orders on time is a problem. My first and second experience was so vastly different, beyond disappointing, on a day where I am putting things together to host a party it caused unnecessary stress I sent an email and didn't hear back and wanted to post my experience.

I recently visited Alas Kitchen and was absolutely blown away by the food and the girl working there she was so nice and attentive. Their pupusas were simply delicious--perfectly made with the right balance of filling and flavor. The panes con pollo reminded me of Thanksgiving, with rich, comforting flavors in every bite. The nuegados were a delightful treat, just the right amount of sweetness, and their pastelitos were made to perfection--crispy on the outside and bursting with flavor inside. To top it all off, the restaurant was exceptionally clean, especially the bathrooms, which were spotless. Overall, a fantastic experience, and I can't wait to go back! read more

First, the papusas were beyond greasy. I'm not talking about the normal amount of oil you might expect from a pupusa--the frijol con queso had an actual puddle of oil inside. They were extremely unpleasant to eat. As for the Papas Locas, the owner himself confirmed that the online menu was incorrect. The website clearly advertised them as coming with sausage and jalapeños. That is not a misunderstanding on the customer's part; the restaurant's own online menu was providing incorrect information. Customers should be able to rely on the restaurant's menu when deciding what they are ordering. What makes this experience even more disappointing, however, is how the situation was handled. Mistakes happen. A missing item or an incorrect menu description can easily be resolved with a simple apology and good customer service. Instead, the response from the staff was unnecessarily rude, and now the owner's responses to these reviews come across as defensive and focused on arguing with customers about whether the food was "overpriced" rather than acknowledging the actual complaints. Nobody is upset because pupusas cost $2.29. The issue is paying for food and receiving poor quality, missing items, inaccurate menu information, and then being made to feel like you're the problem for bringing it up. The owner's response unfortunately says a lot about how this business chooses to handle legitimate customer feedback. Rather than simply acknowledging the mistakes and taking responsibility, the responses seem more concerned with defending the business than understanding why multiple customers left disappointed. I definitely would not return, and based on both the food and the way this situation was handled, I would not recommend it.
