How is it that I'm the first to review this place when they've been open for at least seven years…read more (or possibly even a decade ... or even longer)? Exterior Located off Hwy 17, just north of the '4 way stop' as us 'locals' know it. Interior Like every Ace Hardware I've ever visited, jam packed with stuff to spend your money on! Customer Service Friendly and fairly patient. And while the younger folks are not always super knowledgeable, they're typically very quick to volunteer to at least try to find an answer for you when they don't know something. Price / Value Ace has never been my 'go to' spot for inexpensive goods, but they will often have items you can't find elsewhere. I bought my first manual lawnmower at an Ace Hardware in Smyrna, Ga. (And when I say 'manual,' I mean the kind of mower Ward Cleaver used on Leave it to Beaver. The type that's powered solely by your arms, back and legs thank-you-very-much.) And I bought my slingblade at an Ace Hardware in Powder Springs, Ga. And this Ace Hardware was one of the ONLY two stores in McIntosh & Glynn county combined that still sold railroad ties aka cross ties. (And I called 11 stores based on Google and neighbor suggestions.) Overall Cool little spot that has a little bit of everything under the sun ... from grass seed to interior & exterior paint ... to barbecue and grilling needs. Be sure to check them out if you're in the area.

My original plan was to look at their book selection but when I walked in I decide to do a full lap around the entire store. Ollie's is pretty large, think mini warehouse. It reminds me of Big Lots but more organized and on a bigger scale. Home goods, decor, books, beauty products and food. You can find plenty of deals here. I only purchased a few word search books as their overall book selection was not impressive. There were 2 cashiers working and they moved very quickly. The lady that checked me out greeted me as I walked up and even gave me the price of an item that didn't have a sticker to make sure I was willing to pay that amount. Overall, Ollie's seems like a good place if you're into bargain shopping. I would definitely come back for their decor and home goods. Hopefully in the future their book selection gets a little better.

I've seen Zia before, but by the time we arrived in Savannah it was always closed. Not this time! So we walked in on a whim, partly because I am a 'zia', which means 'aunt' in Italian, and were immediately greeted by the most beautiful and friendly sales associate whose name I think was Renée. After trying on several pair of earrings, I couldn't decide on what to buy, everything was so beautiful. No pressure from Renée. We left, went to dinner, and all I could think of was the Peruvian opal earrings. We walked back to the boutique, the door was locked, but the lovely lady opened it for us and I was able to make my purchase. You Zia's handmade jewelry is indeed artwork for the body. I purchased the pair of Peruvian Opal earrings, one of his original designs, and couldn't be happier.
