I've been going to to Alan Stein for longer than I can remember and have never been disappointed. Well maybe in myself for not flossing as much as I should. The office recently moved so everything is super modern and nice. All the hygienists and staff are super friendly. I've had a couple fillings but mostly just cleaning but have never had any pain. My husband and I have been going to Dr. Stein for 10+ years. Even though we've moved around a few times during the past 10 years (beach, Pasadena area, and now Orange County), we still wouldn't consider going anywhere else. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, the hygienist are very gentle and patient, and Dr. Stein treats you like you are his only patient! Their offices are very clean and modern. My first visit to this office it seemed fine --I had met this Dr at a family Holiday so I decided to give him a try-It was first ok my visit went great-After I had a problem with the work he did for me it was all my fault I bit on a tube of lipstick my fault and I broke my bonding he fixed for me--I told him it was my fault and not his work it was good, he refused to not only help me but treated me just like he was talking to a five year child, He made me want to sink right into the chair and cry, I am 60 not 5 and it was so bad I had to tell them I had to move my car and leave the office where I sat in my car and cried not only was I leaving with my broken crown on the days before my big birthday party but with the bad attitude from this man treating me so unkind--Never in my life had I ever heard a Dr talk to me or anyone else this way--I have worked with dentists for 15 years and it was so awful--Apparently he is having severe mental issues and needs to retire--E Aharoni read more

Outrageous. This dentist charges my senior Mother, $375 for Xrays (Not needed BTW), a Cleaning, and an exam. I wouldn't take my pet dog to a dentist with those kind of fees. If you have senior parents whom are going to this dentist, or you are thinking of going to see him, be aware that "He" feels his fees are normal, in fact, He says his fees are fair. His office Manager blew me off, would not let me speak, and then he threatened to sue me, bragging he did all these dental Mal practice suits. Now, I ask you, Why would a man do mal practice suits and have all these attorneys working for him. No offense to Dr. Stein but I wouldn't have him work on my Mother for FREE at this point. Not only did he blow me off and not listen to the fact that Over billing and Double billing (Especially to blind and/or deaf seniors) is a felony. I guess that's why he has or needs so many attorneys. I have no clue why he has such high ratings here on Yelp, unless the people he's seen are so old they can't do the internet, or no one has noticed how they bill our senior parents. I found a dentist, MY DENTIST who would charge under $200 for the same services. I highly suggest you look elsewhere for dentristry unless you don't mind paying top dollar, and also you will have no legal alternative against him, as he has a "Team of Attorneys," his words on stand by. Now, why do you think he would need that. Do the Math. No longer will I give Dr. Stein our business, and I take great offense that the old standard "The customer always comes first," Means nothing to this man or his staff, also quite rude. I have been going to Dr Stein for over 30 years and I recommend him to anyone. He does not work on kids anymore but when my kids were young he did and my kids would actually tell me when it was time to go for their cleaning. He is the most gentle dentist and makes it such a pleasant experience. Leslie runs the office and she is a big help with any questions. His hygienist is wonderful and so efficient and friendly. The staff in this office will bend over backwards to take care of you. I have had many questions about my insurance and they have always responded promptly, followed up, and cut me breaks any time they could. I feel that they've granted me the benefit in every situation that could have gone either way. When they have explained procedures to me, whether it's regarding billing or a dental procedure, it has always been in an intelligent, patient way, and they take the time to answer all of my questions. When they guided me through teeth whitening I felt that they were genuinely invested in my end result. I had been so scared to go the dentist, I kept putting it off until the I was really uncomfortable. Someone recommended I use yelp and sure enough, I found Dr. Stein. He was voted #1 on yelp in my area. I was able to make an initial appointment within a reasonable time frame (1 week) and found a time convenient for me. I was able to do the paperwork beforehand and that made check-in go very smoothly. I met with Dr. Stein and discussed my concerns/questions/fears. He was so nice, soft spoken, and attentive to my needs. His staff was friendly and walked me through all the steps in the procedure. The office was pleasant and appeared very up-to-date with technology. As much as I hate going to the dentist; I will definitely be going back for on-going check-ups with Dr. Stein. I honestly can't say enough good things about this dental office! To start everything is super clean and professional. Coming to the dentist can be very scary for a lot of people. If you are anything like me then you do everything you can to stay far away from a dentist! I have been coming to Dr. Alan Stein for a year now and am So impressed! If you ever need to call or make an appointment call Leslie, she is awesome, friendly, and will do everything she can to accomidate you! He is the worst dentist I have ever known. Paid him 25000.00 to do total upper and lower implants. The first set of temporary implants broke constantly had to go to oral surgeons to repair because he was never available to repair as they broke on Friday or during holidays. After a year it was time to replace with permanent implants but they broke again and at that time dr Stein and oral surgeon said I needed new and extra implants because these had broke so many times now permanents couldn't b placed until new implants healed. This cost me extra time and money. New temporarys felt much better when I told him that he said WELL THESE ARE THE MORE EXPENSIVE ONES! Well why the heck didn't u use them the first time? I did pay u $25000.00 and it had to b all up front so now I'm stuck with this rip off guy. The worst part is his office staff. Every time I call for appointment they tell me they have to call me back cause they need to speak to dr so they know what type of appointment to make. I paid you a fortune and you don't know? I was in need of a new Dentist as I grew out of my Pediatric one :( She reccomended Dr. Stein. I walked into the office and was immediately greeted by the receptionist, was offered complimentary water while I was waiting (which wasn't very long as they are ALWAYS on time). I love that the cleaning and exam is through and that Dr. Stein looks at everything. I also got my teeth whitened here about a year ago, and they still look as amazing as they did when I got it done. I have been to Dr. Stein's office twice now and I've had a wonderful experience both times,, When I first called in to make my initial appointment I was very welcomed by the receptionist and I believe she is the office manager Leslie she is a wonderful person very in formative very soothing to my concerns,, she helped ease my worries of going to a new dentist for the first time with the information she provided and the comforting tone she represented was very welcoming so I felt very at ease to go in,, Then when I went in for my first visit with Dr. Stein I was very welcomed by Dr. Stein with a consultation first that made me feel very relaxed and put to ease when we had talked about my concerns for my dental health ,, he had help me by connecting me with a few other doctors that can take on further dental care that I needed,, but when I did have the actual exam he was very calming took his time to ask if I was OK and that was quite a help to me knowing I was having some fears with the exam,, Then today I went in for my first stage of my deep cleaning and the hygienist was a wonderful woman who truly cared about the pain that I was experiencing took the time to wait for the medication to fully Numb my mouth and truly continued asking me if I needed anything if I was OK if I needed to stop all of the things I was concerned I would not have the opportunity to do in that predicament she help me go through without any concern so that was a wonderful experience with her today,, So all in all my experience at Dr. Stein's office and with his staff and with him himself was wonderful !! I had to see a dentist on an emergency for a faulty filling and a severe tooth ache. Three years ago I was looking for a good dentist, because I had had my share of horrible ones. Those where the doctors had TERRIBLE bedside manner, or staff with major attitude, where collecting money was the bottom line. At that point, I needed immediate dental care for myself and my family, and I did not want to settle anymore. When I type in "best dentist in LA" on Google, Dr. Stein's website popped up. Immediately, I felt a wave relief, because the website gave a lot of good information about Dr. Stein's care and level of expertise. When I went into the office, I was amazed at how quickly I connected with the staff and how much they knew about dental insurance! The manager, Leslie, knew all of the ins and outs of my benefits plan and was able to make me feel at ease as to how to best take care of my dental needs from a financial standpoint. Dr. Stein's website did not do him justice, as amazing as it was. He IS kind, listens, and truly gave me the sense that he cares about me and helping out with any dental obstacles. He has good, sound advice about keeping me in good oral health. What I think is one of his best features besides good patient-relations is that that he uses state-of-the-art technology to help both himself and his patients tackle the dental problems. I am the 3rd in 4 generations that are patients of Dr. Stein, so Yelp just doesn't allow enough characters for me to fully convey what a kind, honest, thorough and knowledgeable dentist he is. Starting with him when I was just a teen meant life would take me to other dentists in between, what with moves to different cities and changes in jobs and insurance, so I now know just what a gem he is. Not one single other dentist, not even in high-priced zipcodes in Los Angeles, compare to Dr. Stein. Not in knowledge, skill, honesty or integrity (did I mention honesty and integrity? Because I cannot mention those enough!). Furthermore, the office is immaculate and the staff is friendly, beyond helpful, accommodating, professional and courteous. The equipment and technology used far surpass anything in any other office in any swanky zipcode I have ever been to. It really is quite amazing. Dr. Stein was able to detect what two other offices were not which, in turn, saved me money as it turned out I did NOT need the work done that the two other offices suggested! That leads me to my last point, Dr. Stein is very conservative. He is clearly not in this profession as a salesman, he is in it as a Dentist. Period. He will always and only suggest what is necessary and he is thorough and fair. Oh, and he is very very funny! After having been through the ringer with unethical, hustle-you-out-of-the-chair-ASAP HMO dentists in the West Valley the last 12 years, I finally realized I haven't been really happy with any dental office I've been to since we got insurance. You really do get what you pay for. Dr. Stein is very informative, takes his time, and shows genuine concern for the well-being of his patients. He and his office manager, Leslee, made me feel like I was the most important patient in their office. They have gone above and beyond to follow up on getting my records from my old dentist and coordinating care I needed with specialists. The office is beautiful with up-to-date technology.
