Got called for jury duty. They don't tell you that you have to pay for parking or that parking is…read moreonly paid with cash. So after sitting all day I went to leave and they said they don't validate parking. So I had to go pay at the office first. I went to the office and they only have machines that accept cash. So I had to use the ATM and there is a fee of $3 to use it. So my $9 parking ended up costing $12. I asked the worker why parking isn't validated and she said they give the $20 for jury duty with $10 being for parking and $10 for lunch. I'm sorry, but they don't give the money to us each day, So beware that if you have to do jury duty, make sure you have cash to pay for everything that should be included, since this wasn't my choice to do. If I'm being made to do something that takes up my entire day, please pay me appropriately for it or at the minimum pay for my parking.

The building is beautiful and the staff is helpful: they know how to spot a deer in the headlights and are quick to offer help. I arrived by 8:30A to sign up to speak at a meeting that started at 9A. I turned in my form and waited for my agenda item, and then waited to be called to speak. Public speaking can be intimidating, especially when there are cameras, microphones, etc. But I think this is a valuable experience and I'm glad I've done it at least once. Our city can only improve if we all pay attention, get involved, and speak up.

We called the police out to get a handle on our daughter who we take care of who is handicap and was pushing her mother around at home and a officer Taylor came out and did nothing about it but tell my daughter that if she was his daughter he would kick her ass out of the home ... I told him that our daughter was disabled and he did not care ... So we told him to leave twice and on the third time he finally left ... What is going on hear in Del City ??? A officer should not talk that way to anyone ... They are there to help NOT to make things worse ... Officer Suzy Cook should be fired because of how she spoke to my wife when all we needed was help with our handicap daughter ... Suzy Cook told my wife that she was NOT a good mother and that our 17 year old daughter could leave the house anytime she wants ... Suzy Cook should be ashamed of her self for saying that to my disabled wife ...

This is an amazing nonprofit in Norman that offers full wraparound services for families. I was…read morefortunate to get a private tour from the Director and I was thrilled to find out all the wonderful resources they offer. All the staff is friendly, welcoming and authentic. This organization started as a shelter for children and youth, back in 1969. It changed its name as it expanded services. Families navigating the uncertainty of abuse, neglect, divorce, separation, teenage pregnancy, or other adverse experience, can come here for assistance. Their services range from providing diapers and baby necessities to specialized counseling and afterschool services. They partner with the Boys & Girls Club of Norman to provide their afterschool care programs. This is available to children and youth ages 6-18. CCFI is also a member of the Welcoming Project, which ensures LGBTQ individuals/allies feel welcomed as patrons. Amazing organization doing great work!
