Chet, the PA that saw me, was super professional and knowledgeable, and has a great name! :-) After feeling like I had a complete and useful visit, I looked at my watch and it was 35 minutes after my scheduled time! Note that on my last attempt to see an ENT (not here), it was more than 35 minutes before they even realized that I got tired of waiting and left. Oh, and very friendly staff in general. I'm sorry I went further after that because it was the first glimpse of what got so much worse. After all these threats to ensure my punctuality, Tammy Harvey had me wait about 45 mins to be seen. Then she entered in a rushed frenzy not giving me time to talk about my issues. I scheduled my allergy testing. The person who checks your benefits does not check unless you ask and then you learn that was a waste of time. With insurance, I was expected to pay for everything with an estimate close to $3000. While most offices will file and then bill if you have ins, she expects you to pay for everything. She then confronted me, talked over me and railroaded me because I questioned the $3000. I left without the testing. I now have a caring and professional doctor.

The clinic is nice. The place has a warm atmosphere. Lots of interesting art and some comfortable places to sit. Much better than the doctor's offices that feel like airport terminals. Dr. Mehta was great. I like a few things from my doctors...smart, good communicators and normal human beings. Something along those lines. Dr. Mehta was personable, efficient and (no surprise) knows a lot about allergies. She laid out plenty of options to tackle my allergies. She had suggestions from basic lifestyle stuff to medications to allergy shots. After that discussion, she talked with me about what would be a good fit for my personality and schedule. Few other things I liked about Dr. Mehta's shop. First, it was easy to get an appointment. I called their office and a person actually answered the phone and scheduled me. I half expected to be on hold for 10 minutes. Second thing, she has good hours. I mean that Uptown Allergy is open more than just two days a week. Not sure but Dr. Mehta might also do some extended hours on certain days. Third, they have parking. I know I already mentioned that, but it's worth revisting. Long story short, Uptown Allergy and Dr. Mehta are awesome.

Dr. Alex Hoang is Vietnamese-American and fits the bill! I was refered to him because I went to high school with his partner's wife. The office opens early in the morning, they always fit me in whenever I get sick (which considering I now carry an Epi pen is quite often apparently! Jk) and they get back to me ASAP! The staff treats me with dignity and respect and are friendly! My yearly exam includes a heart ultrasound, EKG, breathing test. Etc. and they can do all of this in-house! They have laptops so that your records are now electronically stored. The prescriptions get printed out which is awesome! There are also two parking lots which is convenient. Plus the waiting room is comfy with leather couches, regular chairs, flat screen tvs, magazines , kid toys etc. I would recommend them to all my friends and family! Addendum: as I'm waiting as a walk in patient (my normal doc has the day off so going to see one of the other two docs) I noticed that the bus stop is right in front of the office which might help people who use the bus out here! I also forgot that there is a mini parking lot out front too. In the examining room area on the right hand side there is a larger bathroom with baby changer. I'll post pix later. On the left hand is the smaller bathroom with no baby changer.
