How can I not given this dental practice a review before now! I have been their patient for the…read more20+ years I have lived in Novato and can say without reservation that Vince Freemantle is the very best dentist I have had the good luck to find after having had some very subpar dental work by others in the past. Dr. Freemantle is that fabulous combination of friendly, yet professional. I have been his patient for so long, I have developed even a personal relationship with him which I have cashed in on by asking his opinion about matters other than medical. He keeps his patients' confidences. Dr. F. has successfully performed just about every dental procedure you can think of, all with excellent results. If something turns out not quite right, he is very responsive with a follow up to examine and correct the problem. His referral of me to my periodontal practice also resulted in my striking gold with Dr. Brian Hollander, a very skilled periodontist who has installed a whole mouthful of implants for me over the years. The front desk people at Novato Family Dental are also top notch: friendly, helpful and efficient. The waiting room is a mite small, but there is most often no wait, so this is not a problem. Finally, his dental assistant Su Ping is the very best at giving thorough and pain free regular cleanings. But for finding this practice, I would be toothless by now. Dr. Freemantle, and his associate, Dr. Perry, are both at the very top of their game. I can recommend them without reservation.

The x-rays and full mouth 3D scans were very impressive. It was really nice to see the scans that were taken and the time Dr Freemantle took to explain everything that was going on. I'm going back very soon for another cleaning and check up.

I've been a patient of this practice since we moved from the city and bought our house in Marin…read more Dr. Donesky is the type of dentist I prefer with his conservative approach of saving teeth, maintaining the teeth you have, but if you need work done, he will do everything to ensure the end result looks natural. Before we went to Japan I broke a tooth - nothing dramatic, just eating dinner (rice, meat, cooked vegetables). Dr. Donesky was able to see me, put a temporary crown on my tooth so I could fly and eat my heart out on my trip. He asked me to visit the lab so they could do an exact color match on my teeth (this is what I mean when I say he wants any work he does to look natural) When I returned from my trip, the crown was ready. My temporary held up so well I was able to fly and eat normally. When the new crown was placed, the temporary was so stuck on my tooth - I appreciated that because it afforded me stability despite being a temporary crown. Rebecca, Dr. Doneskys' assistant is so kind. I enjoy our conversations (I am a nervous patient) and she is so knowledgeable about the hidden gems in Marin. Felicia at the front desk is so good with submitting my insurance claims even if my insurance rejects it, I'm glad she at least attempts it. She also schedules me for days and times that work best for my life. When I come for my appointments, despite the usual dental nervousness, I do feel confident. I know Dr Donesky is going to take great care of me and my oral hygiene. I know his staff will treat me with kindness, professionalism, and grace. I know I will be well cared for every time I visit. 5 stars, community gem.

My insurance told me they informed the provider and it's up to them to tell the patient. Very disappointing but at least it was only a cleaning. Celine at the front desk has been incredibly kind, patient, and helpful every single time I've called. She took the time to answer all of my questions without ever making me feel rushed, and her friendly attitude made such a positive impression. Great customer service is hard to find, and Celine truly went above and beyond. Thank you for your kindness and professionalism I look forward to becoming a patient!

Unfortunately, maybe it was only my experience but in my original wisdom tooth extraction consultation there I was told by a kind and descriptive dentist to ask for a in-depth image and to have everything explained to me and she explained what she could so I felt secure that the actual wisdom tooth extraction experience would be similar in descriptiveness. Unfortunately for me it wasn't. While I will say the ladies and man assisting and who were in the room were very kind and caring, offering me comfort, the oral surgeon lady who was going to remove my wisdom teeth was very blunt and belittling in my opinion. To explain, she simply told me all four of my teeth are getting removed and I asked why because I had previously been told my upper wisdom teeth were very high up (a lot of bone between my mouth and wisdom teeth) and I could wait to have them grow out further before removing them and she instead of answering my question just said the bone regrows because I'm young. When I asked how far up or low my top wisdom teeth are in my mouth, she said I don't understand your question. I started to cry and get anxious because she wasn't answering my questions, trembling because I was afraid, and she instead repeated herself in a belittling tone. (I had thought she would be descriptive and explain my worries to me calmly like in my original consultation). Ultimately, I asked for my dad which was when she explained herself slightly better. In the end, she said I never told her about only getting my bottom ones out (which I did in the beginning before I got scared and starting crying) so we ultimately left after she said she wouldn't proceed, yes, my father did get agitated but only because I was trembling and crying in fear and feeling unheard. It was as if they were rushing me and out. No beside manners, nobody introduced themselves the got straight to asking questions, pressure check, didn't ask before pulling my shirt up to put heart monitor pads on me, no regard for patient commodity, they just kept going despite seeing me crying. No comfort, just rushing. I am 19 and this was my first ever surgery, if she had even just spoken to me kinder or more professionally, I would have been fine but she just proceeded to insert my iv, and repeat herself without (I feel like) regards for my fear or feelings. Please do not fear! The other employees were kind and helpful, but she gave me a new fear that I didn't know I could get. Kindness and compassion goes a long way.
