I bought a few more plant pots and some potting soil, too, as well as a set of mini garden tools for my 4yo. Every time I go back I get another pot and another plant. There's a large gift shop area (love the garden fairies) as well as an outdoor area with trees and shrubs. But the greenhouse is the best. All the plants and the riot of colors and the fresh oxygen are an instant hit of dopamine if you need it.

I finally decided to stop worrying about the cost and focus on safety. Two Chinese Elms in my…read morebackyard had significant deadwood and at least one gigantic branch would come down in each of the bigger windstorms. There are toddlers living next door and people walking down my alley. It was time. I called local tree removal companies for an estimate. Limbwalker gave me a great quote, but I was skeptical because of that. I asked for proof of insurance and he sent it to me. Today, all the deadwood is gone and the trees are safe. I particularly liked that Beau left the logs in the alley for the neighbors to use and chipped all the refuse for a new life as mulch. I'm so happy I hired Limbwalker! - Leslie K in Monte Vista

This year, I made the difficult decision to remove my front lawn and xeriscape it instead. I…read morecontacted Mortensen's Landscape and Irrigation and was promptly given an estimate and the opportunity to pick out the materials I wanted for the job. The hardest part was choosing from the vast selection of rock and boulders! This morning, the crew arrived, unloaded their equipment, and got right to work. By noon, the lawn was gone, the area leveled, the weed barrier down, most of the river rock put out, and the flagstone for the walkway in place. These young men were credibly patient and understanding when I asked if they would switch out one of the stones. Then they did the fill-in and set the flagstone. Shortly after, the boulders arrived, and they were, once again, exceedingly patient and kind to set them just where I wanted them. Each member of the crew paid close attention to detail. They cleaned up the job site beautifully. It all took less than six hours!!! The end result? More than I even dreamed! I could not be more pleased! They made sure everything was to my satisfaction before I paid the second half of the bill. That is how you do business! This area will now be extremely low-maintenance and be much more water resource-friendly! Growing up on a farm, I am well aware we have dirt that blows in and often brings gnarly little weed seeds that will eventually find their way into the rocks. But guess what...THAT HAPPENS!!!! That, folks, is why I hire a great weed control team to keep my property free of the little pests. So, if you are considering any landscaping projects, do NOT hesitate to contact Mortensen's Landscape and Irrigation in Alamosa!
